when your setting your beaver snares use a dead spruce pole. and use wire to attach your bait to the spruce pole. they wont eat the spruce pole. i have a couple underice beaver videos on my page from this spring we pulled 22 beaver out of about 6 houses. also trapping the interior of alaska but out of fairbanks
Yeah, that's a technique. I like to keep it light and simple. My design has had a pretty good success rate. I usually snare around 50 beaver per year in Wisconsin.
Do the same thing your doing, but use a dried spruce pole and wire on some slightly peeled birch, willow, cottonwood saplings in a bundle around the spruce pole and just set the snares the way you have been doing.
Wrap a bungee cord around your logs before you split. The cord will keep the logs together allowing you to split multiple times without pickup the logs to take a second swing. ;)
I feel like I felt that when you stuck your naked hand into the freezing water!! Buuurrr! 🥶That ice is thick!🧊
By far my favorite trapping channel on YT. 💯 🔥
Thanks much. 👍
We did want to be on camera. You said we werent pretty enough. We had a great time and I learned a lot.
John certainly isn’t pretty enough! Haha! Awesome day to be out.
Well thats a bit of fur. I enjoyed the show. Best of luck out there.
Haha! I know the guys that ran the line with you. John is my trapping partner. Good luck!!
What a coincidence. John is a really good dude. Very knowledgeable and didn't critique my line too harshly.

I don't go to the gym. This is my way of staying fit.
Plus, I'm not always that accurate. I'd probably hit the bungee cord.
Need a pair of bunny boots
Yeah, they're great.
I like having removable liners though.
What is that box you had the weasel in? And where do I get one ?
Old plastic mailbox. They are all over the suburbs 😄
Don't use green sticks
