Worked for a 911 Cup Car Team. The engines are indeed one in the same. Between the road car and cup car. 1st thing we would do when a new car was delivered was pull off the stock muffler, and put two straight pipes on it.. imagine yours, 4 times the volume. Absolutely loved listening to them pound through the gears on the dyno.
This is what I love about James. No bullshit like any other the other TH-camrs, who churn out 10 videos just tempting the idea of an exhaust change for example which finally happens 6 months later.

A slightly different comment to most here. I can't believe the new exhaust was released from manufacture without first having the heat tarnish (blue colour etc) cleaned from around the welds...I'm guessing the exhaust unit wasn't cheap. Surprised to say the least. Love the 911 though, always has been a firm favourite/poster car. Thanks James.

Glad this worked out well for you. I tried a back box delete with a 4.8 V8 and it sounded like a Nascar. Some early mornings I'd stick it in neutral and push it down the road in my suit to avoid waking up the street! It was hilarious but a pain in backside in traffic & longer drives. Full chat at top end of 3rd saw in my mirrors a woman in a VW polo - taking both hands of wheel to cup her ears! Good times 😃
Literally down the road from me James, I've used abp before ( admittedly on a civic type r not a Porsche) I had a few issues with them but this was 7 years ago so it's now irrelevant . Car sounds fantastic and another awesome video, it's also nice to see a big youtuber like yourself using local traders .

The 'after' is a resounding roar, the 'before' one sounds like the lion had a throat infection... But look wise too the modified version is so much cleaner (once put in place) and is assimilating with it all, perfectly.
Nice solution to have something that leaves the existing sports exhaust switch in the car working. I hate when aftermarket solutions screw with that kind of thing. Same when aftermarket wheels screw up tyre pressure sensors.
JESUS christ, that's an improvement. I always said this, Mclaren's and Porche's lack that drama and theatre (pops, bangs, brutal sound) except maybe a few have now grown on me (gt3rs, gt2rs), but you James have added what was missing. Amazing! Edit: still maybe missing a few pops and bangs when you lift from the throttle.
@@ANDRE_675 wat? Its not programmed because there ain't a computer behind it giving orders to the exhaust going: "POP! BANG! 2 MORE POPS!" . Yeah its engineered that way. Same on AMG and M and RS cars (mercedes, bmw, audi). If they can engineer it so can Mclaren and Porsche. Infact porsche has it on other turbo models like on a Cayenne, but not on 911's. Weird

What I meant to say it's the ECU it's programmed to inject unburned fuel when the throttle is lifted on high RPM's so the car can make that Poping sound.
Great video James! Didn't Sam's mate from STG get kicked off the race track as his GT3 was too loud and that had a standard exhaust?!?! Hope it's not too loud for your track day at Silverstone, would be pants if the Marshalls get mardy with your new exhaust! 😂🤣
