As a fellow Cameroonian, i have to say i really did enjoy this episode, the information wasn't watered-down as most schools/organization would tend to do so. i didn't want the video to end, there was so much more i wish we had time to cover but all in all great video. i must also point out that although in the general sense everyone gets along with everyone (within the nation), there have been very strong evidences of tribalism where one tribe believes themselves to be superior to the other. there was bad blood between the two former president (allegedly) being that Ahidjo was from the north and Biya is from the east and there was the whole coup d'état thing that happened. following this event are the allegations that people from the east attempted an ethnic-cleansing on the people belonging to the north. Anyway thanks for sharing info on our country, hopefully some interesting questions and convos relating to the country will be brought up in these comment sections lol keep up the good work. P.S for those asking, the city that was mispronounced is pronounced Dou-wah-lah (Douala), la capitale économique du Cameroun.
I applaud you for creating this video. You totally nailed it bro. It takes great talent and so much research to come up with such a presentation that resonates with a native Cameroonian. Thanks for mentioning Lake Nyos and Mount Fako. Experiencing the 2000 Mount Fako eruption was like doomsday where your only preparation was to hope that the lava doesn't flow into your house if the house survived the earthquakes that occured during the eruption. Kudos.
Don't know. However, FOR SURE, Cameroon raised money and assembled the 1st French resistance army in WWII when De Gaule came begging... And by the way, the capital of the exiled resistance government of France (when under Nazi German occupation) was Brazzaville in the current Republic of Congo.

Yeah right. Nigeria and Cameroon have pretty good ties. The are many Nigerians living and doing business in Cameroon and vice versa. Many of the tribes stretch across the borders btw cmr and ngr.
Nigeria and Cameroon have similar geography: deserts, Savannah grasslands, mountains and tropical rain forest... the benue river in Nigeria starts from the rain forest of Cameroon.

Cameroon, officially the Republic of Cameroon, is a country in Central Africa. It is bordered by Nigeria to the west and north; Chad to the northeast; the Central African Republic to the east; and Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and the Republic of the Congo to the south. Cameroon's coastline lies on the Bight of Biafra, part of the Gulf of Guinea and the Atlantic Ocean. Although Cameroon is not an ECOWAS member state, it is geographically and historically in West Africa with the Southern Cameroons which now form her Nord-Ouest and Sud-Ouest Regions having a strong West African history. However, since 2017, elements within the Sud-Ouest and Nord-Ouest regions have since declared an independent (yet internationally unrecognized) state called Ambazonia. The country is sometimes identified as West African and other times as Central African due to its strategic position at the crossroads between West and Central Africa. Cameroon is home to over 250 native languages spoken by nearly 20 million people.

"The lions of cameroon" i always remember them! amazing football team!
Agreed. However, you mean THE INDOMITABLE LIONS, which is the official ID.
Oh wow... such a cool place! I hadn't known much about it apart from the name before this video. Pretty interesting

How can you talk about Cameroon without talking about Francis Ngannou.
This was your best episode yet! You toned down all the silly jokes but kept it funny at the same time. Great job!
love the Cameroon geograpy
I applaud you for creating this video. You totally nailed it bro. It takes great talent and so much research to come up with such a presentation that resonates with a native Cameroonian. Thanks for mentioning Lake Nyos and Mount Fako. Experiencing the 2000 Mount Fako eruption was like doomsday where your only preparation was to hope that the lava doesn't flow into your house if the house survived the earthquakes that occured during the eruption. Kudos.
Thank you so much my brother I'm Cameroonian I'm proud to be Cameroonian living together it's very important with this world Cameroon forever forever

But you did say "the bloodshed of those who fought for the country"...
Yoan Dimov I did say
Amraya Baptiste NOT YOU
I WAS SO ENTHUSIASTIC WITH THE BLOOD SHED thing and now I feel betrayed.
+Daniel Sayson Canada has red in it's flag :)
Canada has fought plenty of wars, ussually when dragged along by either the US or the UK.
+Заклетник haha good thing red never goes out of style for most of the national flags.
+Daniel Sayson UNITY!!!
Pssssst, Canada's red means the blood shed, not for it's country's freedom, but for Europe's freedom (because it faught in both World Wars).

Didn't Cameroon raise money for America during the great depression?
seriouslyyyyy woww@@newworldorder7
Wow. Good Info. I will research this. Thanks a lot!
Whoaaa? Really?!
Don't know. However, FOR SURE, Cameroon raised money and assembled the 1st French resistance army in WWII when De Gaule came begging... And by the way, the capital of the exiled resistance government of France (when under Nazi German occupation) was Brazzaville in the current Republic of Congo.

Nice presentation Paul B. I just realised that your name is similar to Paul Biya, the old man on the Cameroonian throne. Oh and for sure Cameroon is the best country to visit in Africa to get 'The All African Experience' in one country and spending less money. The food there is good and cheap. Very easy to navigate through the country if you got cash.

Camer-red? Why not Cam-maroon? While not the same as red, it's close enough and fits better right?
yes
genius!
+Arctic022 Well, I would say because it's kind of....not maroon
+Geography Now
Wasn't expecting to get a response from you, haha. You're the first TH-camr to ever reply to a comment of mine, so thanks for being awesome.
No I agree, seperate colours, but to me it seems easier/less cumbersome to remember and maroon is more associated with reddish type things than green. So for the sake of distinguishing between the two flags, I would just presume this to be easier/more fun. But it's your video and your method, don't want to steal your thunder.
Maroon is a form of red
Came here hoping to learn about the Cameroonian civil war and the “anglophone problem”. Sad it was not mentioned but fan of the content on the channel. Thank you for all your hard work.

Hey Barb! Love your show! Am guessing this Cameroon post is among the earlier ones you posted and that you hadn't yet begun to list famous people from those countries. So here's some trivia on Cameroon. That great pioneer of Disco 'Manu Djibango' (of 'Soul Makosa' fame) is from Cameroon.

That was an excellent video. I would like to hear your comments on the recent disturbances in Cameroon and whether they might really result in civil war.
