the thing that Danny said about his bike is actually partly true. We associate certain concepts with certain senses, like the motorcycle sound that Danny's bike made. Because motors are typically faster than a bodily-powered mechanical function, and motors make that specific noise, it tells our brain that it goes faster. Kind of like a response to a TV released in the 2010s. Basically, after release, everybody claimed that the remote felt too cheap and they didn't like it, making people not buy their product. The way that they fixed this was that they added a weight into the remotes, making no other changes to the design, and then relaunching the weighted variety. Immediately, the complaints dissolved, and all the lighter remotes were discarded. People associated the heavier weight higher quality, metal>plastic, etcetera, etcetera, but useless things like that still have a place in association,, even now that they're unnecessary.
My fav story about this type of thing comes from the Devs of Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. For the longest time i thought this WAS a 2 danny 2 furious vid. I always watched it alongside the other second channel vids, and never checked the channel. I just found out it wasn't from this comment
I know this is an old video now, but actually balance is probably one of the most important aspects/abilities in most sports I’d say. Balance is an underrated skill, it goes hand in hand with agility
What danny said about his bicycle modification is actually a true thing in psychology. When a user of a product can recognize distinct sounds it makes, they feel more satisfied with the product and / or think it does a better job. Designers make car doors have a distinct sound when you close them, they tune how loud the engine is for the driver depending on the car, and it even goes as far as vacuum cleaners. Most people opt for loud ones because they feel like it's really doing a good job, but in reality it's just a psychological thing, vacuums can be near completely silent and still have the same power, if not, more.
My car has an actual sound generator diaphragm attached to the air intake to generate a sound to make the engine sound more "sporty". It's really funny when you think about it.
For car doors it's a more solid "thump" when it closes. Because our brains are conditioned to see heavy things as more valuable, luxury car manufacturers will add weight to car doors because, even though we now make cars out of much lighter material, we still associate that solid door thump with a quality automobile.
@@shadow_shine3578 same I feel like if vacuum more if not for the loudness😅 other than that though I’m definitely guilty of all the other things mentioned lol
So here’s a funny tidbit: The company said their bracelet is based off of “eastern philosophies”. A common “eastern philosophy” is called the power of attraction. The power of attraction, in essence, means that if you truly believe something will happen, then it will. This company is sort of calling on that particular philosophy to work in making you believe that the bracelet will work. So in other words, *it is based on an eastern philosophy that essentially tricks your mind into believing it will work and thus it does* I rest my case.
I’ve only ever heard the law of attraction mentioned in like, The Secret, Ayn Rand libertarian hustle inspiration, like, multilevel marketing shit where it’s used as a way to blame the individual for their inability to survive in a system that has no plans of helping them survive. I apologize if it’s also an actual eastern philosophy, but I have never heard that even one time.
@@Lucifersfursona I’m actually not surprised you haven’t heard it in it’s true sense before, as mainstream media has sort of ruined the real meaning behind it, and turned it into that multilevel marketing stuff you had mentioned. I completely agree with you in that sense, that movies and shows etc have turned it into a very twisted version of what it once was in an attempt to blame that person for a wrongdoing that isn’t even their own. However, I will still stick to my belief in the true meaning of it, because without being corrupted by media, that meaning is still pure.

Those necklaces were.... *for a reason????* I always just thought these select guys at my school like found them and were like 'oh cool we can be cool and wear the same accessory' or something like that.
I love how when Danny figured how to balance by turning it horizontally without the bracelet he looked and sounded like a little kid showing their mom how long they can balance on one leg.
I just wanted to say that like 15 minutes ago I was laying in bed working myself up to a panic attack for the first time in a long time and thought to myself, "okay, what would take your mind off yourself and into something silly and wholesome and entertaining enough to be distracting? ...Danny" I'm really glad you could do that for me this morning man.
10:25 yeah I think it's based on this: In China, All of the buildings are like shaped and planned to reflect 正能量(不是电)(good energy) and apperently it boosts productivity or smthn so I am pretty sure that they are talking about that
The thing is- the bracelets do help your balance, strength, etc, but not for the reason you think. They are basically better looking anti-morning sickness bracelets. What these do is since they are tight on your wrist and they press on where your veins are, you are just generally more tensed up and aware of what's around you because of the mild discomfort it causes.

Ok but why with vacuums I hate the loudness.
I understand but I hate it.
im going fast and you cant say otherwise
my pokemon card thats been there for 3 years is tired

So here’s a funny tidbit:
The company said their bracelet is based off of “eastern philosophies”. A common “eastern philosophy” is called the power of attraction. The power of attraction, in essence, means that if you truly believe something will happen, then it will. This company is sort of calling on that particular philosophy to work in making you believe that the bracelet will work. So in other words, *it is based on an eastern philosophy that essentially tricks your mind into believing it will work and thus it does*
I rest my case.
I saw a version called center stones. They were round rocks advertising the same thing.

The thing is- the bracelets do help your balance, strength, etc, but not for the reason you think. They are basically better looking anti-morning sickness bracelets. What these do is since they are tight on your wrist and they press on where your veins are, you are just generally more tensed up and aware of what's around you because of the mild discomfort it causes.
those bracelets were not tight at all. lol
