I think they forgot to tell the drum line that this was a “stand still” ....the execution of this Corp seems unreal to me. Wish I could’ve seen this live. Absolutely jaw dropping!
This is such a nice beast still? So conflicted by this show. It tries to be mean and then makes up for it in 24 counts. Also the drumline sure can dance.
I firmly believe that the Crown Snareline has the most pleasing technique to the eye. They can crank out those FFF 15” triplet rolls and play the tightest rhythms without making their arm and wrist rotate weirdly.
Just imagine if SCV did this. With all of the electronics and pit going on in their show, I can't even imagine how they'd sound in a standstill. Probably quite an interesting performance.
I wish crown would play more stuff that would stand alone as just music sometimes. Vanguard has the same issue. Learn from the coats lol. Good stuff though
everyone's saying that, I just dont see what's so good about them. They dont have anything memorable about their show. Unlike crown which has a very memorable show with all the dark and jagged themes and the great trombone features.
BD had a great horn book tho, and the show was definitely a challenging one. Actually enjoyed a lot of it from a hornline perspective. (Usually don’t enjoy BD hornlines) but CROWNS DRUMLINE WAS KILLER. 3RD PLACE FINISH HELL YEAH!!!!! The brass should always tune this way for crown (I believe its 442 if I’m not mistaken) and the drumline tuned like this is GREAT. The overall tone is just AMAZING. This is definitely my favorite Crown sound. While nowhere near my favorite book, it was good show! They definitely could’ve not used props and done more drill though.
Nice quality on everything, but I think snares and quads should've added more back hands and sweeps. Other than that great job band..btw imma drummer too🥁
As a matter of preference, I tend to agree with you. This does seem to be a trend in DCI but this amount is almost distracting, IMO. They sound great though.

Nope. It's what makes Crown's Drums unique. Who *wouldn't* wanna groove on the move? It's the most hype thing you can do on the field. 2015's line made me fall in love with the concept. If you can do it in indoor shows why not outdoors, yeah? Still a performance.
