    While I was watching the video I was thinking that you need a logging trailer and then you said it. Lots of good but expensive trailer options are available. We have a couple old road trailers which we use for this type of job, a much cheaper option. I really enjoy watching your grapple action, thanks for taking the time to share this

    • @PaleHorseOutdoors
      @PaleHorseOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you, Joseph! I really do want a trailer and as you said they're not cheap! I would like to find one with an overall width of no more than 48" so that I can fit the trailer though the trees on the trails, too. I've found a few but I'm not financially ready to pull the trigger on one. Thanks for watching my friend! :)

    • @PaleHorseOutdoors
      @PaleHorseOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Martin. I just checked on Northern Tool and they indeed have a few options that I'm interested in and at pretty decent prices compared to other trailers I've seen. I appreciate the tip and your support, my friend. I'm guessing that it's starting to warm up and get muddy over there in GA. Will you be doing any more work on the "lake" this year? How's she goin'? That grapple is sure a great help eh!!! Can you imagine doing this work with out it? You know what I found: after I bought my tractor, the tractor turned out to be the cheapest part of the whole thing because now I needed attachments, implements and a storage area and then you need a logging trailer and you need to make more trails and clear more land. All because I bought a trailer!!! LOL Take care David and have a great week!!!

    • @PaleHorseOutdoors
      @PaleHorseOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're exactly right, Mike! At least cutting trails and maintaining the forest is fun. That right there makes it worth the money. :) I couldn't imagine trying to do all of this without a grapple and soon I won't be able to imagine how I did it without a trailer. I'm still doing the research on that because I want a narrow trailer for the woods but they're pretty expensive to get enough quality for logging. Thanks for watching, my friend! CHEERS!!

    What to do with brush?!? That is the question. I am trying to clean up piles from around my pond area and I have sooo much brush. Right now my strategy is small piles dispersed throughout the woods, but I am likely going to have a big burn pile coming soon. Great video! Your situation is a lot like mine…. New trails with logs and brush spread out all over. I’m trying to just process it into wood and trailer it to my wood pile. Good luck! Have fun with it.

    • @PaleHorseOutdoors
      @PaleHorseOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The trailer is what I need man. If I could go back in time I wouldn't have piled up so much way over in dump yard hill. It takes 5 minutes to get from that site to the wood yard area and it's just not efficient. A trailer would do the trick in lowering the number of trips for sure. I haven't burned anything yet, but I'm going to have to soon because once the dry season comes, the burn bans will be in effect for weeks/months at a time. Thanks for watching, Lucas! I really appreciate it, buddy!

      @PaleHorseOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey thank you! Yes sir, that part of the forest is really dense. It makes getting the tractor and grapple through the trails a little more challenging, but we really like the layout and the shade during the summer. We actually have a teepee another part of the forest made of very thin Fir saplings that died out. Thanks for watching! I really appreciate it! :)

      Hey Justin! I'm trying to get all my YT friends to get a grapple. They're expensive but man oh man do they make work easier and faster. I don't really care about faster as much, but trying to do logging without one would really break my back! LOL Samuel! I guess I've just gotten used to the routes. I go pretty slow through the trees and it takes a really long time to carry a load from one side of the property to the other. • @BeginnerforBSeries
    @BeginnerforBSeries 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi Dave, I've had that load jostling around think happen too many times to me and have lost the load or part of the load. I now by habit keep hitting that close button every 30 seconds or so. Glad you brought that up for anyone that hasn't grappled before. Nice video, very educational. Can you make the trail wider? Ever thought of a rear stump grinder? I'm going to be making some trails this summer and I know that I want those stumps removed. May be an excavator rental though. Take care!

    • @PaleHorseOutdoors
      @PaleHorseOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Dave! I could make it wider in places, but I'm trying not to cut down trees if I can help it or make it too much wider than the implements. I have a stump bucket for removing the small stumps on the property. I've already removed all of them from the trail system though.
