IDK, it's on you mate. I agree that the defalt settings for the touch pads are aufull, BUT you can change those and set the RNB/LMB to be on the back triger buttons for example, that change the hole expirience. Me personaly have set up the left touch pad to be scroling wheel and right one for moving the coursor, LMB and RMB on the back buttons how i mention before and is just a bliss to use it that way.
I think that's the set up I have, but for some reason it still registers clicks on both the left and right touch pads, where i just want them to be scroll and touch like a mouse, only without the clicks 🤷♂️ I'll have to try different things in the settings, or maybe I'm just pressing too hard.
@@collectorseditionukI was having the same issue as you showed in the video, but it’s just because the soft press threshold is set too low by default for the desktop controller configuration. If you crank up the threshold value you won’t have accidental clicks anymore. For any game I want to use the trackpads for mouse control, I set the threshold to 13,000. It’s only at 4000 by default, which makes me wonder if this is a hardware calibration issue that makes the trackpads overly sensitive on some units.
A lot of people report steam decks not being delivered or being stolen/lost in transit it’s weird I’m hoping mine isn’t one of them being delivered by ups
Yeah when I got mine it has all the branding all over showing its a steam deck, even an address saying its come from valve too 🤦♂️ It'd be nice if valve had learned from this since it's release but apparently not...
Update for anyone wondering mine came perfectly fine was shipped through ups was delayed a few hours but the box did not say valve or steam deck on it and it was delivered just fine
@@ThePutosaureI think they stopped that a while ago, I got an oled right after they came out so like 6 months ago, and it only shows what it is on the inside of the box
It's actually not been too bad in the case neither the intake or exhaust are covered, however it's rubber.. so I shall try and seek a better option 😅 Any suggestions? Don't want to just use it raw incase I drop it!
@@collectorseditionuk I decided to splurge on the Killswitch case from Dbrand. It's worth every penny, been serving me for over a year traveling over the world and the case only has scratches on it but zero structural damage. The rubber on the grips feel brand new, even now. I highly recommend it if you travel a lot and want to protect the Deck - otherwise, any cheaper silicone or hard rubber case will do.

Yeah PayPal is great with settling disputes within 3 days are less I know by experience I ordered a 64 gb with a regeek backplate for heat and ima buy a 1TB IN A FEW WEEKS if someone have the money get the highest gb they can if not get the lower and upgrade it u will still come out ahead
Had a bit of an issue with the direct download from the official site. Had to find the updater, which downloaded a .exe version of the game, which you just drop into steam and it works and updates regular!
I'm realising a bigger SD card does not solve the 64gb model I bought... As all shaders and things proton uses, has to go on the internal! So I may look at upgrading my internal soon... I've used nearly all my space! It does seem easy enough though.
Get a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard it's way easier and on Amazon I got a decent one for like 45 dollar but pairs to Android windows anything really but it a must esp for games that u need a keyboard for
Already have a hub and use it in my tv at the minute, could do with a monitor maybe instead. I already have a wireless mouse I use with my laptop, but never considered a keyboard for the deck and the keyboard isn't too bad to use in all honesty 🤷♂️

It might be because the box it's shipped in just shows what it is. Valve logo, Steam Deck logo and name, and so on. Really stupid from their part.

My Steam Deck Oleds track pads are perfectly fine. Been using desktop mode a lot personally.
You can also quit games using chords. You do not need to shut down the steam deck.

Also u can't get a hub with video and put it on a display add Bluetooth mouse and honestly it's not bad
