  • Brazil was not the country that we expected to find. The food, the people, the weather and the customs. We could not have been more wrong.
Come as we explore the northern and southern regions of Brazil and find out what you can expect.

Great video. I'm an American living in Brazil full time. I came, decided to stay, married one of them, and adopted two Brazilian kids! I understand what you felt and experienced and I saw no reason to leave. Brazil has its challenges and sometimes I get really frustrated. I can't lie about that. But, nowhere is perfect. In 2016, I went to Brazil for the first time to visit her home and family and experience her culture and country and I can honestly say it was one of the very best experiences of my life and I fell in love with Brazil. @@TheYarbros No no no. You are wrong. Lets take a closer look on what Sandrasgotvoice wrote: "Amazing how we are taught that AMERICA is so much bigger and better than other COUNTRIES." So, what she is calling "America" is only USA, because its clear she making a comparisson with "other Countries", not continents.
But reading her expressing herself in this way is no surprise: after all, US cinema and television have hijacked the word "America" for years. It has served (you) to designate the country United States of America. The famous American's Dream is the American dream of the United States of America. So, yes, you got used to saying "America" referring only to the country itself: the United States of America (as in the case of Sandragotvoice's sentence). It seems that nothing else exists outside the USA and this is highly offensive to us: latin americans. You guys should know this.

This is what I wished all foreigners could experience from Brazil: how big, cultural, interesting and an infinite source of knowledge and diversity Brazil is. Thank you so much for opening your eyes and your hearts to see this side of my country! And I'm very happy that you liked it. Writing this down is making me emotional because I love this country and wish everyone would have the time and will to visit all of what you visited.

Dionne Warwick lived in Brazil, a country she first visited in the early 1960s, from an indeterminate date[when?] until 2005, according to an interview with JazzWax, when she moved back to the United States to be near her ailing mother and sister. She became so entranced by Brazil that she studied Portuguese and divided her time between Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. In April 2010, in an interview on talk-show Programa do Jô, she said Brazil was the place where she intended to spend the rest of her life after retiring.
