    In Brazil, people aren't expected to eat quickly to clear the table, so you can spend an entire afternoon at a steakhouse table eating and drinking at a slower pace. You can take your time as much as you want.

    I don’t know if someone explained but Pão de Queijo is not made from regular wheat flour. It’s made from Polvilho that is a flour from cassava. So, Pão de Queijo is totally gluten free.

    • @goytabr
      @goytabr 2 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      @@mechanicallydev4536, nós chamamos as duas coisas de "farinha", mas farinhas grossas como a de mandioca eles chamam em inglês de "meal" (igual à palavra para "refeição"). Então, seria "cassava meal". "Flour" é só para farinhas finas como a de trigo, de modo que por esse critério não é totalmente incorreto chamar o polvilho de "flour". Acontece que "flour" é feita geralmente de grãos e o polvilho vem de um tubérculo, e por um processo que deixa quase só o amido puro (a farinha de trigo tem outras coisas, inclusive o famigerado glúten que faz mal a quem tem doença celíaca). Então, o mais correto é mesmo descrever o polvilho como "cassava starch" ("amido de mandioca").

I have tried several times to make them at home in London but I'm not very good. Some places you find are called "per kilos".

    Although Pão de Queijo translates as Cheese Bread, it’s not actually a bread, since it’s not made of wheat flour. It’s main ingredient, apart from cheese is polvilho, which is a cassava flour.

    The best feijoadas are the home made ones, but you can still find some good places.

    Great video! São Paulo has some of the best food anywhere. It's an underrated city, but I may be biased 😜
