Great playthrough of an awesome new game! One note (which i didnt see an option for Klingon subtitles among the captions, so apologies if this is old news) 7:50 you mention only 6 tokens can be placed in Propagation - per page 8, there is no limit to the number of leaf tokens that can be put in the propagation area. Not that it mattered in this play, just wanted to point it out.
Looks like another rather fun Phil Walker Harding title. We own a number of his games because they are easily approachable for the entire family, but still have some nice strategy to them. Not sure how this wasn’t already on my radar, but it is now! Thanks for the nice play through video.
Thank you so much for this playthrough! I was looking at the instructions and was confused about some sections but seeing how you guys played it was very helpful in understanding how each round works. I love the artwork of the game especially the resource tokens! Thank you for sharing!
Nice was looking for more information on the game and came across your video. Looks like a really enjoyable game with great components especially for the price.
Thanks for creating this playthrough! I saw this game at Target on Tuesday, but couldn't find anything about it online until your videos were released. It looks fun, and the resource tokens are well designed.
I've also been looking for information about this game ever since I discovered it on the Target website and thought it was so bizarre that it was nowhere to be found. Glad I finally ended up here!
Alex J - you are our big winner!! Congrats!! You have won a copy of Planted from Buffalo Games. Please email us at Love2HateBoardGameReviews@gmail.com with your contact info and we'll get it to you soon!
The theme and resources are fantastic and already had my attention. Gameplay looks pretty fun but unfortunately not seeing it for order yet here in Australia so fingers crossed on the giveaway. Thanks for the video Lance and Sam!
Saw this on sale at Target and have plant people in the family. Doesn't look like it's important to know plants to play this game, and resources are fancy! Looks a little complicated but I think I'll give it a shot! Thanks!
I think this game looks really fun. The artwork is what caught my eye first, I’m a sucker for houseplants. 😅 I also really like all the tactile pieces, games with lots of those are my favorite.
The illustrations and the elements are so beautiful and greatly thought! The cards look amazing, and the concept of taking care of plants in a boardgame just as you do at home is so creative and original.
This game have a beautiful art, the components are pretty good! also the mechanism ist very fluid. Very original Planted🌿 Would love to add this game in the collection🙌🏻
Planted looks great! We just got sushi go and my kids like it quite a bit. This would be a nice step up in resource management. Reminds me a bit of Parks as well.
Saw a post about this game on FB today, with PWH as the designer, those great components and price,I had to check it out, thanks for the video! PWH games always get a closer look from me and this one seems to meld the feels of a lot of games we love, I see Parks, Herbaceous, maybe even Cat Lady, then adds an interesting draft mechanism that we don't play much. Plus, I'm wondering if there's enough of those water and sun tokens to use in Parks! 😉
I hadn't heard of this game until today, but it looks beautiful! I love how simple it is, but how the added engine building with the tools and objectives gives you more things to think about. I'm a sucker for card drafting, and having one that has tools and objectives mixed in is right up my alley. It reminds me of a faster version of Parks mixed with 7 Wonders :) Would love a copy to play with our friends who are newer to board games :)
Great playthrough. Looks like a fun, quick playing game. Trying to see if I can get an American friend to grab me a copy since it's not available in Canada.
This is the first I have heard of the game and it has a simple game play and I think gamers of all ages can enjoy it. Great walk through. I feel like I could play it without reading the rule book.
Unusual that a Phil Walker-Harding game comes out with so little fanfare! I'll be interested in seeing how this one compares with the upcoming Verdant.
It looks stunning! The components, theme, everything! 😍 So sad it’s not available here in Quebec, Canada! Fingers crossed for that great giveaway🤞🏽 Thanks to you!
What a stunning game! Looks amazing and gameplay seems right up my alley. Loving all the nature themed games that are appearing at the moment. It’s a pity we probably won’t see this game available in Australia. You guys and your fantastic giveaway are my only hope 🙂. Keep up the great work!
Thank you for the playthrough. I really like the fact that this game is accessible to non-gamers. Also the theme is refreshing and the components look awesome. It would definitely see my mom playing this one. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be available in Europe, so here's hoping I'll win the competition. 😜
I love the components and the artwork! This looks like a game I could get my family into, and they are not great at heavy board games so this looks like a fun one!
This was my first time watching one of your videos (recently found you). Very impressed with the quality. Will definitely be watching more. After watching it gives me a really good idea if I like it or not and if I am likely to purchase it. Really like the production quality. It reminds me of another game, but it adds complexity to it that makes it more something I would play. Overall, I am definitely liking the looks of it.
I know I'm late to the party but I just ordered this game because it looked so good in this video, cant wait to start playing it with my friends! Thanks for sharing all these fun games!
I'm a big houseplant person (have100+ houseplants). I'd probably just buy this game for the beautiful plant artwork on the board box and the cards. Absolutely stunning! Not gonna lie though, the game play is slightly confusing. I'm going to keep watching a few more videos of this game before I settle on purchasing it or not...
Looks like a fantastic game for a family game night! The illustrations are so cute and the pieces are adorable! It is not necessarily a competition game and it makes it more easy to learn and play! Really looking forward to get this one 😊 Great video too! Keep the great work 💫
I love how simple many of PWH's games are. It will be interesting to see how this game stacks up against Verdant once it finally makes it to gaming tables. This one seems lighter but the themes and artwork seem pretty similar.
@@Love2HateBGreviews didn't even know this game existed but was super excited to see your play through of it as it answered a lot of questions....the other rules overview that I watched wasn't terribly clear...I really appreciated your "similar to Sushi Go" description as it helped me immediately get an idea of gameplay and turn structure.
Great video🥳🥳🥳 I just discovered you channel today - wow you are preasenting interesting games, not only the mainstream things!!!! Cool, thanks for that! The game looks interesting and we would like to try it, although we have the Phil Walker-Harding puzzle-games at home, only - till now 😉
I question whether I need another drafting game, having Draftosaurus, Shushi Go, 7 Wonders and It’s a Wonderful World. But I love the art and theme of Planted. I’ll probably get it. Thanks for showing how it plays.
I actually bought this game because I love plants, plus my son plays board games, and has gotten me into them. THANK YOU so much for this video. It was perfect. I love all the cute resources and the graphics of the game. Again, THANK YOU!!!!
Great play through! First video I’ve seen of yours… was searching for information on this game and came across your video and am now a subscriber! The game and tokens look beautiful!
My mom would absolutely adore this game! She is not a huge gamer, but plays with me because I enjoy games… the theme and easy to learn concept of the game will have her wanting to play over and over again…

Pros: Easy to teach/learn, quick to play, thematically-accessible*, room for 2 expansions (and perhaps 2 over-powering promos). Drafting. Multiple paths/strategies to winning Cons: *Theme is almost common... almost. The game itself feels as if, after it has been played three times, it may not leave the shelf again. It seems to be missing that x-factor spark of, "Oh wow! I totally didn't see that coming." And, will leave gaming hobbyists missing that one last element of complexity (something like cloudy-day cards that you can stick your opponents with) that will make them super excited to be the one to bring this to their gaming group (this is why Buffalo Games may want to consider quickly put together a couple of expansions, and promos, to make the game feel more complete.)
Thanks for the comments Nathan. I will agree with you that the gardening theme is becoming more common that it may start to play itself out, much like how zombies did about 4 years ago or so. Your comments about this game feeling like it's missing something, like a x-factor. I can understand that to a certain extent, but you have to keep in mind who this game is marketed towards. It's a Target exclusive for $20 with fantastic art and components with modern mechanics and solid gameplay from a renowned designer. This is a perfect game to bring new players into the hobby. If this was the kind of game that would have been on the shelves 20 years ago, board gaming would be lightyears further along than it is now! But yes, for the average board gamer this game probably feels a tad bit too light.
@@Love2HateBGreviews Very, very well said. I think that this looks to be an amazingly accessible vehicle to bringing new people into the hobby... Which is also the multilayered advantage. If the same newcomer to gaming that has picked up this game, later stumbles across an expansion that ratchets one of their go-to games up a notch, the deeper love of gaming (and curiosity of other games) will start to set in. I'll absolutely be picking up a copy as we are always introducing people, that have had very limited exposure, over for a game night. And (if you'll forgive the irony of phrasing) a good gateway game is always the key to them asking to play again or to try another game that they have never heard of.
I watched both this one and unboxing video and I am completely in love with this game! The graphics are very pretty, the tokens are cute, the gameplay is quite easy, yet not too easy for me and my husband, as we play boardgames rather often. Huge fan of Phil Walker-Harding's games, and my housemate and main game partner has filled her office with plants, so I know she'd enjoy this one with all those beautiful cards and resources.
I genuinely love the art and overall theme of the game. I have a handful of plant-themed games thus far and have peers with notable green thumbs, so am certainly keen to try more!
This game looks like a nice drafting game for plant lovers. All peace and love until the're at the plantshop :p . The resources look very nice and give the game more quality. This game is now on my to play list.
I feel this game is so creative and cute and I absolutely adore the illustrations. I saw this in target and passed it up due to money but after watching a play through I regret it. Since I’m going into Horticulture this game would be perfect for me and I definitely plan on buying it when i can. The resources are so cool and I don’t play many board games but this might make me start. Thank you guys for sharing this video because it convinced me to own it!
My wife is getting really big into the house plants and all the succulents. We also love board games so this would be an awesome addition to our collection! I love those pieces as well! I love the 7 wonders and sushi go like drafting mechanism. This game just looks fun Haha
Check out the Meeple Light link in the description of the video. It was an add-on from that Kickstarter campaign and they may still have some available!
This looks perfect for my sister and her husband. They hope to open a plant nursery someday, and though not hobby gamers, they love playing simple, fun games.
Hi Terrance, it was an add on from the Meeple Light Kickstart campaign. There may still be a chance to late pledge for one by going here: www.kickstarter.com/projects/8bitbuilder/meeple-light?ref=android_project_share
Looks like another potential hit for Phil Walker-Harding! The amount of good games this man designs at such a fast speed is so impressive. I'd love to get a copy of this up in Canada 😀
What Summer Camp does for deck building, it looks like this will do for drafting. I’ve taught several people the concept of deck building with Summer Camp and has always gone well.

My wife is getting really big into the house plants and all the succulents. We also love board games so this would be an awesome addition to our collection! I love those pieces as well! I love the 7 wonders and sushi go like drafting mechanism. This game just looks fun Haha
This game looks excellent! I know my sisters would love to play it with me!

Check out the Meeple Light link in the description of the video. It was an add-on from that Kickstarter campaign and they may still have some available!
This looks perfect for my sister and her husband. They hope to open a plant nursery someday, and though not hobby gamers, they love playing simple, fun games.
This may really work well with them! Thanks for entering Shawn!
Absolutely would love to win this game! Love the theme and art work. Components look amazing 🤤

And thanks for introducing me to this game, this is the first I've heard of it!
No problem! Thanks for entering Andrew!
What Summer Camp does for deck building, it looks like this will do for drafting. I’ve taught several people the concept of deck building with Summer Camp and has always gone well.
Love your username! Although I don't think this is the cubbies year lol 😅
@@Love2HateBGreviews definitely not 😄
Huge fan of PWH’s designs. Would love to add this to my collection.
