Thank you for putting out a well explained video with great camera work and perfect sound. No unnecessary music or distractions to take away from the content.
This is a fabulous video... Thank you so much! I have the ZT1 50 zero turn, so planning on referring back to this. I've been changing blades by raising the deck and going underneath... not efficient, and I really need to clean the buildup off after 2 full seasons.
Just followed your suggested steps and was able to remove my 42 deck in about 20 minutes. Easy peazy thanks to this video. I hate reading manuals and directions. So, this was perfect. Thank you!
I've got 3 full seasons on our ZT2-54 and have had the deck off many times. But we just moved and the Cub manual is somewhere in all our stuff so came here and found this. Very well done video. Especially like reaching through from behind on the port side to pull the idler pulley and remove the belt. Thank you, sir.
Thank you. Why don't you contact Cub Cadet and show them your work for possible business relationship. This video is a great example of communication in a how to video.
Thanks for the detailed video. I just finished my first season with the 54” and want to sharpen the blades. Was a little concerned about having to drop the deck but your video explained it beautifully. Thanks again.
This video was everything it needed to be and none of the extra stuff that some people add into instructional TH-cam videos because they think they are acting in a Steven Seagal movie.
Thanks for the video. I was unable to remove the belt by pushing on the pulley. But wait, there is an easier way!! Go to the right side of the mower and get a large channel-lock plier. Remove the spring. Re-assembly is also easy.
i just ran over one of the soft, expandable hoses & it's currently wrapped around the mower blades--i'll be def referring to this video to remove the deck 😂
How about put a couple of 2x4s under the deck, so minimum amount of paint get scratched off the bottom edge of the deck (from getting rusted and better protect the floor), also this mover is new so the deck hangers will stay up, but i bet No One messes with the deck until the mower has been used for several hours with all the hinges/hangers are less than perfect fit - LOL (depends on the quality etc.)...
Great walkthrough, thanks. I think I saw a way to simplify even further. It looks like you could push the idler pulley back from the top side through the floorpan hole and slide the belt off at that point. If so, that would save you from having to remove that spindle guard. I'll try that when I need to sharpen blades.
you all prolly dont give a shit but does someone know a method to get back into an instagram account? I was dumb forgot my password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me.
@Bryce Colton Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and Im in the hacking process now. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
My mower is a ZT1 50" cub cadet zero turn. My mower i think hit a few tree branches and have caused it to where the blades cant move around under the mower its hitting deck and not moving. I have gotten new blades (manufacturer recommended mulching blades) and they do not fit in which I am only assuming is that my deck is bent. How can I fix this issue? What do I need to do? Please any advice. Thank you
My life has been pretty busy. I have 2 channels, My other channel is Oval RC.. I video radio control racing. I plan on doing a lot more tractor videos now that I finally figured out my new camera. Thanks for the positive feedback
Thanks very much for the video. I WANT to like this mower, but I still don't. I bought it a few months ago, and need to sharpen my blades. Pulling this deck isn't "hard", but I've certainly had mowers that were much easier. Just another reason I'll probably sell this one off.
i just replaced my deck, and am stuck on replacing the idler pulley, when i attach it to the deck it does not seem to be very mobile (the pulley itself doesn't seem to spin). Any idea what I may be doing wrong?
I have the newer model ZT1 54" with the "S" Blades (490 110 C194) which are very expensive. I would like to swap out the 3 "S" spindles (618P09236) for the Star Spindle which offers a better selection of Blades at a much lower price. Like the Oregon 3 gator blade. They don't make any for the "S" blades. Any one know of a switch over spindle that will work?
After coming off a mower from the late 90s, you guys have it easy and yet you're still whining about how hard it is lmao they sure don't make them like they used to. I mean the people, the mower is granted, they're so soft!
@@usmcocs09 Thx for that tip. Though I like to remove the deck every year and totally clean, rustproof and undercoat it. But on subsequent sharpenings-only, I'll prolly use your tip. Thx again.

Especially the no music part, it’s insane how almost everyone feels the need to add elevator music to their videos
Best video I've seen about removing a deck.

Thank you 👍
My 54 inch is having trouble coming back down a steep hill? What cause it's that It makes a wine and noise in not easily to control
How much does it cost to replace the whole deck with pulleys etc and where can I get one besides the dealer?
Is it advised to remove the deck if you're using the snow plow?
No stay inside and watch old movies.
i just replaced my deck, and am stuck on replacing the idler pulley, when i attach it to the deck it does not seem to be very mobile (the pulley itself doesn't seem to spin). Any idea what I may be doing wrong?
Was wondering if i could replace my 42 inch deck with a 46 inch ?
Where did you buy your new deck?
I wonder if a bigger deck could be put back in
I bought the 42" model but was wondering if you can swap out the 42-in deck for the 50-in deck on the ZT1?
Good question same here 42
How do I lift my zt142" deck
@@weegancalixte6255 Use foot pedal then turn dial.

There really easy to remove and install
Other brands are a tad harder and weight more to
If you ever wondered why people mow with dull blades, this is why! Can’t engineers make an easy to remove deck?
You don’t have to remove the deck to remove and sharpen the blades. I just lift the front end and rest it elevated on 2 jack stands.

Easy way is to just hoist front end up
Does this apply to the ZT2 ?
Is the deck adjustable as far as leveling?
Yup, as he mentioned.
Thanks.
They could have added something to remove the belt like John deere. Absolute pain in the ass taking the deck off and I got the 50 inch deck.
Garcia Deborah Johnson Christopher Jackson Jason
Would you buy a Cub Cadet over a John Deere?
