- Walkthrough of replacing the light in the glove compartment of a 2nd Gen Mazda3 (2010 to 2013).
I couldn't find any videos showing this and forums only had text instructions with few photos, so I couldn't really tell if they were for this generation.
Hopefully this helps you out.
Tools required:
- Philips screw driver
- flashlight (recommended)
- a bit of elbow grease

Before you start remember 1 thing, the glovebox light only comes on if the headlights are on.... The light stays on until you turn them off ...
Yes, that's why I had to switch the ignition to the on position to turn on the headlights to test them.
Saved me about 30 mins 🤣
Why is Mazda so much harder 2 work on than Toyota or Honda. I swear Mazda does it on purpose.
You tried, but you need a lot more practice at on making an instruction video.
Finally, a video of the style glove box I have. Something's rattling behind there, so I'm desperate to get it out, lol. When it stops snowing I'll go give this a try. Thank you for taking the trouble to do this!!
Two screws are out, and I can't get that box to budge.
@@turtlec1256 Bit late on this, but I had to pull with a bit of force.
Hard to believe you just can't pop the plastic lens and replace the bulb like you can on the other lights.

The lighting doesn't get picked up very well. I was wearing a LED on my head.
How do you take off the door itself?
To anyone else wondering this, there's a slow release hinge on the right that unclips towards you and then you remove the two little latches on the side by lifting up and out, and then swing open the whole door until it comes off the bottom hinges
