  • Combating malaria is a complicated business and Vector Control has been our primary tool to combat the disease for over a century. In recent decades, the focus has been on insecticide treated nets. A much-quoted publication by Bhat et al suggests that between the years 2000 and 2015, the use of ITN’s contributed 68% to the success of malaria burden reduction (663 million clinical cases averted). Any factor impacting our ability to distribute and use billions of bednets therefore holds huge consequences. This webinar explored these issues and a new mechanism to increase access to more effective mosquito nets to prevent malaria in the region.
