    Today we are installing a cabin air filter. The steps will work for 2011-2017 Jeep Wranglers. A cabin air filter is great in preventing dust and dirt from getting inside you HVAC box and a must have in my book if the vehicle is driven off road. It prevents the A/C evaporator from getting coated in dirt when driving off road. A wet evaporator (condensation) and dirt will create a "mud wall" that will prevent air from flowing thru the evaporator fins.

    Great video--so refreshing to watch a video where someone is using good lighting.

    Great video. You explained everything very well and completely, unlike many others. You brought it down to the average user without making us feel dumb or leaving out steps the experts always seem to do. If you have a video on installing oracle LED lights with integral Halo LED ring to act as a running light I would certainly be interested.

    Thank you for your easy-to-understand and straightforward video. I am impressed with your camera views, they are very clear and make it easy to see what you are doing. A lot of other videos have less than adequate video work and for a DIY-er like me, being able to see is important. I'm heading over to Amazon.com right now via the link you provided. Thank you.

    Perfect installation instructions. Because if your videos, I changed my serpentine belt and installed my cabin air filter in my 2016 Rubicon today. Is appears that one was not installed from the factory. The only issue I had was, I had to leave my key on so the door would stay open. Other than that easy peasy. Thank you.

    Your video was #1 in the "Cabin filter Jeep Wrangler" search results. I'm glad that I clicked on it. I wanted to see if the previous owner, before giving it away to the stealership, had installed a K&N washable filter before buying one. When I looked inside, I realized it did not even have a cabin filter. Either it didn't come with one, or they just took the K&N filter and sold it on the side. So I went to this video to make sure that I wasn't crazy in not seeing a filter of any sort. I did see the white door close shut. I quickly realized what it was as it reminds me of the recirc door that my dad has on his 2010 Nissan Frontier that is always trying to close and has this horrible clicking noise after closing. So I knew that I had to press that recirc button to open it back up due to my dad's Nissan.

    Thanks, Dave! I bought a cabin filter but after watching your video I realized that what I actually probably need to replace the recirc filter! I did a lot of dusty Jeeping last year and now anytime I use recirc it seems to blow slightly dusty air. Is that a tough replacement?
    Also, I'd like to second Anony Mous request for fixing the e-brake. I have two 2013's and the e-brake doesn't catch properly on either of them. This is a well documented issue on the WF. I can PM you some links if you'd like to see the number of people grappling with this!
    Great video and have been subscribed since before the Dorman part came out. Thanks for all you do.

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Stephanie......the cabin filter and recirc filter are the same. At least I only know of one filter. The filter that is shown in the video filters all the air entering from either outside or thru recirc so you should be fine with what you bought already. Feel free to send me the link I you like and I will try to read thru the info and see what the issues are. I do want to say thanks for having subscribed.

    My Jeep is a soft top convertible with soft doors. Through summer to mid autumn, the roof and doors are completely off. It may rain. It may be dusty. It may get filled with leaves, bugs, seeds, and small branches. It has no sissy cabin air filter.

    Hello how are you bro. Thanks for your videos. I’m from San Diego I have a question, We just rebuilt the whole entire engine on a 2015 Jeep Wrangler. We turn it on and work just fine but There’s a problem a ground cable that goes from the body to the Engine gets hot that it melts a little bit. We thought it was the alternator we replace it, still the same Then someone told us that it was the computer so we replace it, And nothing, but what is weird When I disconnect the regulator cable that comes from the computer to the alternator it stops getting hot. What do you think it’s the problem please help. Thank you very much.

    My aftermarket filter has an arrow for air flow. What direction does the air flow? Up or down? Thanks.

    Maybe a dumb question, but was there a design change after 2010 in the JK? Was there no cabin filter pre-2011? (I assume there is one) is the process just completely different?
