They gave the Oscar to Al Pacino instead that year for his performance in Scent of a Woman. At that point that was Al Pacino's 8th nomination. @@natedoggg2002 You're 1000% percent right in what you wrote brother, that's also my opinion as well, even though Al Pacino delivered a 100% satisfaction according to his role in scent of a woman, but if we compare the personality of the late Al Haj Mr Malcolm X (he may rest in peace) in the movie Malcolm X and Mr Al Pacino in Scent of a woman, both Mr Washington and his performance would've and should've won the Oscar, but in my opinion the academy made a very very big mistake by putting both movie in the same category, and I also think that they did that on purpose🙄why? I’ve always wanted to ask Spike if he can get extra footage not used in the scenes shot in the Diplomat Hotel? Scenes were ballroom dance, teen fundraiser dance scene, assignation scene. Love to see what it was like in that building!
They give oscars for outstanding acting performances, Denzel’s acting was good in the sense that he portrayed Malcom well and for a movie like this the story is more important than the acting. That’s why Denzel didn’t get an Oscar. However, Training day, the acting was exceptional, in fact Training day wouldn’t be the same movie without Denzel’s acting. The lesson here is that just because we have been entertained doesn’t mean it deserves an Oscar.
They parrot their words (particularly those of MLK), cherry-picking quotations that they personally feel "suits" their agendas but they neither have any genuine knowledge or care to have any, of the purity of vision, and heartfelt advocacy these men stood for.
