The woman that Denzel talks about at the beginning of this interview in his mother's beauty salon when Denzel asks his mother who is this woman making these predictions. She is my grandmother her name is Ruth Green. Every time I hear Denzel mention this story about my grandmother over the years it blows me away. My grandmother passed away. But I am very grateful to Denzel over the years for mentioning the event that happened with my grandmother. Also, my mother who is Ruth Geen's daughter would tell me throughout the years that she used to babysit Denzel when he was a little boy.
Her name is Mary Robinson aka Tootsie. I was raised in born in Mount Vernon NY. God Bless you and your family Denzel.🙏🏾🙏🏾

There is no one like Denzel Washington , as an actor he is iconic , in his generation , he’s the best , a couple of Oscar’s under his belt , a much in demand actor , always , like I said there is no like Denzel Washington , gifted, handsome as hell, a talent so big barely holds a movie screen , just saw his last Equalizer going to miss the franchise excellent movie like the other 2, he’s a national treasure like I said , there is no one like Denzel Washington.

I'm a pro musician who plays a lot of high end weddings in New England (I'm from Boston). We usually have to load in through the service elevators in the expensive hotels. One day I'm loading in at the Four Seasons and I'm holding the elevator door open telling my drummer directions to the correct ballroom for the event. In walks Denzel! I say I'm sorry to him for holding up the elevator and he politely says "no worries, go ahead" and I give my drummer lengthy instructions on how to find the room we are playing. Denzel patiently waits and I'm like (I'm holding up Denzel F'n Washington to give my drummer directions!). Lol. He was very gracious and I realized he took the service elevators to remain anonymous and not be accosted by people. True story. Next time I'll tell you about how I played a wedding and the actor who played Gustavo Fring from Breaking bad was next to me taking pictures. lol. Another true story.
