Alex, I cannot possibly tell you how much I enjoy your videos and even after more hours in this game than I would like to admit to, you are light years ahead of where I am. I'm going for my first WC as Spain at the mo' and although I find the late game a bit boring, this is exactly the motivation I need... many, many thanks
Thank you! :) and yep, the late game is a bit of a grind and almost always the same. Declare > occupy > annex > repeat…. I’ve done my fix of WCs for now (will post a Byzantium WC soon).
@@StrategySphereIn my case, it's mostly just me playing the videos on my TV at a low volume at night. I understand you perfectly fine when I'm using headphones :)
What I love about this channel is that the videos are not even intended as guides, yet they are better than most other dedicated videos about learning EU4.
When you are trying to annex only Spanish land at 33:00 the two little shield icons next to the word name are buttons that allow you to sort the peace deals by receiver or by giver. This lets you sort all of one country's (Spain's in this case) provinces into one group. You can tell where one country's group ends and another begins by hovering the flags in the peace deal.
Thanks for that, will try this next time - now finishing a WC as Provence and having lots of massive peace deals! Had no idea they added these buttons.
Awesome video man! My new fav eu4 channel. I really like the relaxed style you have of playing the game but also doing fun stuff and showcasing different tactics and strategies.
Great video as always. For once i can give a tip instead of recieving... in your peace deal with Spain (33 min) you mention scrolling. You might have missed it but you can now finally sort by country in that column now! (since 2 patches ago)
Really appreciate you finishing this run through and entertaining maximum tag switching lol. That is something I still have not attempted in any of my games, besides going the natural routes. Like Prussia > Germany > Rome. Also, I believe the extra golden era is a ruler modifier and won't actually show on the age screen and instead show on the government screen with your modifiers as a single modifier. In fact, I believe because it is a unique modifier, you can stack that with the actual golden age and get x2 power of a golden age if you do them at the same time. Cannot wait to see what you do next. I myself am thinking of doing the nation's Kale achievement: Eat Your Greens or however it is called.
Tag switching is fun, until it becomes a habit… I realised I’ve played 3 or 4 European campaigns and was always going Prussia > Sardinia > Kongo and so on. There are other scellent tags - England, Spain, even Naples to start from… Got it re: the Golden age, so maybe I did have it after all. Kale sounds fun, I haven’t been brave enough to go for it. Maybe one day!
What a nice campaign! And thank you for explaining the late game that well, that is the part where I am always struggling the most. I always seem to get my admin efficiency and warscore cost reduction not high enough for the lasst 100 years of the game :(
Thanks much! Warscore reduction and admin efficiency definitely help, but they’re not a must. I just a WC campaign as Byzantium, no tag changes (apart from the Roman Empire), will aim to post soon.
Nice video, btw the student made a video about drill loss modifier its really strong as you barely lose drill from your units if you reinforce them if it is at 100% (50% at max professionalism+ 33% from the sustained discipline reform and then you can get from prussia/provence or mandate reform the last %) its really worth trying out
Came back home an hour ago at like 1 am. Was outside for few hours with my friend. Drank two beers. And now im watching this... Life could be better and will be. But now imma watch this. Then later focus less on watching TH-cam or playing eu4. Or else imma end up broke... Just a rant from me. Ignore it :D
I believe you do get a second golden age, you can see its effects in the government tab in the modifiers box on the right side of the window, not in the usual golden age tab. Also, why dont you state/unstate everything from the "States" tab?
Ah, got it re: the Golden age. Was a bit confused there. As for the stating, it’s just a matter of habit - plus I like to see visually what I’m stating or unstating… feels more involved I guess.
Hi! It’s the Prussian unique thing, the mission “Balance of Power” makes the Berlin monument increase the max admin efficiency from absolutism by 10%. So 30% becomes 33%.
@@StrategySphere thank you :) I found it in the in the wiki. It is something called "Maximum effect of absolutism". So, as of my understanding, we don't need to play Dithmarschen; any non-end-game-tag nation can get 90% admin efficiency by stacking these modifiers; 30% from absolutism 30% from tech 5% from alhambra 5% from sardinia-piedmont mission 5% from prussia mission 3.3% from additional prussian absolutism 5% from germany mission 5% from germany national idea 2.5% from tier 11 monarchy or tier 13 theocracy reform
@@stozoul yep, I agree. You can also find +5% in the English, Austrian and Russian missions, +10% from Mughals, and another +10% from the Roman Empire ideas + government. Or 5% from Spain’s Councils government. Lots of options these days!
Very cool. I wonder: if you get to pick any starting nation could you convert the whole world to one religion (no need to own it) and then switch religions and convert it all to another religion before the end of the game? Never seen anyone try that so I'm guessing it's too much 😂 (but I see crazier and crazier things being pulled off).
Hi! Yep, Lambdaxx fully converted the world to 7 or 8 religions in one game, if I recall correctly. That’s why I was confident in my One Faith starting in 1688, because I knew I’ll conquer fast and will have the time.
Tip for next time u don't need to look for every spanish province u can click one of the buttons above which sorts out provinces based on which country they belong to
Weird little thing in your video where the game footage became darker between th-cam.com/video/0vhxGsz5MNI/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/0vhxGsz5MNI/w-d-xo.html. Otherwise, another good WC video.

@@sayakp2571 that sounds like a nice set up, actually.
25:25 IIRC that mission doesn't actually give you a Golden Era on the Eras screen, but instead gives you a national modifier with the same effects.

9:30 Tafilalt being a world power
Its always nice to see a nation become a world power that isnt the usual peanut gallery
Yep, I sometimes ally these smaller nations to see how far they can grow under my protection. Tafilalt did well :)
0:28 As someone from the Netherlands I must say your pronunciation of Gelre was rather good! Great video man
Haha glad I guessed close enough! And thanks :)
Oldenburg, too.

How did you implemented subtitles? Nice video's btw
Hi! I’m using the built-in scripting and sub-titles in Premier Pro. It’s not super accurate, so needs a few hours of editing, but it mostly works.

38:30 how do you get 33% admin efficiency from absolutism? In the wiki it says it is capped at 30%.
