Shitbot & Pissrat killed me 🤣🤣🤣
You mean the shitrat and the Iphone? hahaha
@@pepepelaez8411 I loved that scene where Sol tells her "you take really good care of your droid"... i'm like, did you miss the part where she strapped Pip to the sith's back and blew the droid up? hahahaha yeah such good care
Haha this killed me too 🤣
The true main "mystery" of the whole series.
Even if something is made for kids, that doesn’t mean kids don’t deserve a well written, well crafted story.
I loved the well crafted lore surrounding Midi-chlorian counts
If you content targeting kids, then check out Kenobi, Boba Fett, or Ahsoka.
She looked at his hog.
“You want this? Don’t you?” -Palpatine ROTJ
You win the internets today!
It's feel good in your hand, doesn't it?
Palpatines Plan B was to show Anakin his hog
I thought he was talking about his d!#k especially after she kept staring at it when he got out of the water oh isn't lgbt or something and didn't they say in an interview with Leslye headland that this would be the gayest Star Wars ever? Sounds like like they're as confused as they are with their writing.
"Star Wars is for kids" - 1977 Star Wars ACT I: Uncle Owen & Aunt Beru 's bones burning
Yeah i know right!, don't know why people including Lucas himself, keep saying this stupid comment.
Then there's the bleeding arm on the floor in the Cantina
The Jawa massacre
The Greedo headshot
Dantooine being obliterated
Just to name a few other child friendly things that happen just in ANH
@@captainnewzealand4644To be fair, 70s and 80s kids liked that stuff, thought it was cool, and werent that scared by it
@@izzie9888 I am a 70s kid and it scared the crap outta me, but it was tame compared to the other stuff I was exposed to as a kid in the 80's.
It’s always been made with kids in mind. Especially the prequels. Why do you think Ewoks exist?
@@captainnewzealand4644you mean Alderaan, Dantooine was just mentioned by Leia to throw them off and as for Lucas stating Star Wars being for kids I don’t think he started saying that until the prequels backlash started and after he had his two children.
I love how Krisitan probably asks Mike to do a pose for the thumbnail and he just does a funny face evrey week.
House of Dragon is everything Star Wars should be.
When she looks down for a sec she found his real saber. Sorry couldn't resist.
What do we think? Was it full mast? Half chub? Or totally flaccid?
After this episode I’ve come to conclusion that this should have been a movie .also the twins felt way more important in episode 2 than in 6.
I think it works as a series. But the formats killing it. If episode 1 and 2 was combined into a single hour long episode, don't split up 4 and 5, and cut up and interlace all of episode 3's exposition throughout, then this would've been the third episode. And we'd feel like we're leaving the set-up stage and starting to get into the real show.
What we need is a team up series featuring the fat boy Jedi from the start of the series and accountant Jedi
I would watch that show 😂
Haha wow! That would be a one episode kill shot! They would be killed in the minutes before the opening credits! Haha 👍💯😇
😂😂
Man, you could tell looking at Mike’s face throughout this whole video that he just really does not give a single f*ck about this show😂
You’re probably 100% right about Venestra being the old Master. The Purple whip-saber along with the lines on Manny’s back. Venestra hiding stuff from the council like what happened to the twins at the start. That could also be the reason Venestra attacked Manny was because he didn’t agree with what they did to the witches.
Carrie-Anne Moss, as the sith lord training Manny Jacinto's character, would have made this show amazing. And they could have made it for a hell of a lot less money
"Was it shitrat or pissbot" That is the biggest mystery the show has going for it.
The show has only 2 redeemable outs:
A.) Plagueis steamrolls EVERYONE (leaving no proof).
B.) They pull a St. Elsewhere and Yoda wakes up from a swamp gas induced fever dream.
Or Tenebrous
But it's awful .The whole tone of the show is wack..I stopped watching last week...Its not good... star wars in general is just not the same anymore..Its time to let the jedi die and move on..Let's stop funding this nonsense..Same with Dr Who, star trek, rings of power etc etc..Everything i loved growing up has been completely changed..Not for me anymore.
@@markmorris7123 The wonderful thing is, you can literally just never watch any of it! Honestly, give it a try and stop whinging about something you're "done with" haha
What ya think about the internet theory that the short tracker rodent alien is ZipperMouth's Sith master?
@@willfilmon182 I like that theory, actually.
All i know, is that the honest trailer and pitch meeting will be brutal for this show.
I've been waiting for this! I don't watch the show, but the discussion is super entertaining 😂
Amazing review once again by you guys. This finale better be at least an hour or else I have no idea how all this stuff will be wrapped up.
9:33 - Disney - whether it be Marvel or Star Wars - continues to waste excellent talent within their streaming content.... Dafne Keen should have been much more prominently featured in The Acolyte. She built a compelling character even with what little she was given... imagine if they'd had competent writers who invested in her talent!?!?!
They need direction and writing. And convincing acting by others. Especially the main character. All those Jedi killed and I honestly didn’t even know all there names to even care. It’s so poorly written and directed. That is the issue here
@@MichaelPK03to be fair, the other Jedi that were killed were meant to be "Red Shirts" we don't connect with. Jecki, and Yord were the only deaths good or bad writing would have expected us to be impacted by. Lots of other complaints stand though.
@@bajansamurai you are right. It’s minimal compared to all the other nonsense going on in this show. None more than Sol not noticing a tattoo on Mae’s forehead. It’s like people are brainwashed into believing anything for this to be good. In episode 3 Sol is right in front of both twins. Takes the one without the forehead tattoo and doesn’t notice the new tattoo osha has in episode 6. It’s the worst writing and directing I’ve seen in a long time. It’s fan fiction not Star Wars. If this was called space force and was on the CW this show wouldn’t even get covered
Sol left the planet without even knowing where Osha was. For all he knew Osha was just walking around the dangerous forest on her own.
@@zengamer21 no, Sol left the planet thinking he was with Osha. Period. The idea Sol knew it was Mae all along was only because people didn't want to believe he can't tell them apart due to familiarity with Osha and the Force powers, but the show was telling us this entire time that he did not know and the Force is not some always-on sensor array. He realized it was Mae only after he was stranded on the malfunctioning ship and had no way of going back for Osha.
Now it is up to the last two episodes to reveal what his true involvement in the past event was, and if he's somehow corrupt on top of everything else (which would be the only acceptable reveal that he purposely left Osha, knew it was Mae, and is even more involved with Qimir than even Qimir let on.)
@@bajansamurai Sol left Khofar after tying Mae down on the bed. He never asked what happened to Osha or if she was still alive. He just jumped to hyperspace.
@@zengamer21 Ahh, my apologies. I thought this was connected to literally boarding the ship since the forest all the while knowing. You are absolutely correct that unless it was hightailing it back to go look for her, it's bad writing for him to not be concerned for Osha. I stand corrected.
That said, in the show he seems to have said he needs to go rescue her. So the bad part is him magically knowing where to go, if he is on his way to rescue her.
@bajansamurai Some other commenter said it seems like the characters have read the script and know what's going to happen. I think there's some truth to that. Really poor writing.
@@zengamer21 yup. Pretty much
I feel like this episode is the first part of a 3 part finale
We need to get Kristian on Friday Night Tights
The concept of time in this show beyond fucked. Things that should take hours to days seem to just take five minutes.
I agree with that. Qimir and Osha are already on Ach-to (Unknown Planet) and Sol/Mae are just taking off? I like a lot about this show but it's far from perfect.. Like the castings for most of the Jedi on screen. wtf! I think Cal Kestis and Dagan Gera should had been the outline of what the Jedi were in this era with a mixture of Qui gon. They got Sol right, Qimir is a good fallen Jedi and I loved Jecki but look at all the others.
@@randallperkins7944 the flip flopping Mae did episode 4 has set this show up as a parody at this point. I was in first two episodes. It’s done downhill fast
How Vernestra got to the jungle planet in no time too, hyperspace now is just teleportation
I’m pretty sure the rat told Sol it was Mae. That’s how I read that scene.
Oh that was Lesly’s Pronoun beaver that told a Jedi Master that this Osha has a forehead tattoo. The writing is so bad.
“I sense a disturbance in the Force”
How the Force changes over centuries
Mikes fucking face is killing me !!XD
All oceca does is wake up, and watch people fight! Its weird
Disney Star Wars is paced like a teenager trying to fill an essay word quota.
"You're strong in the Force."
..."What do you mean "strong in the force?" 🤣🤣🤣
Can't make this dialogue up!
What is wrong with that?… Are you the nitpick master?
LMFAO
“ you had diarrhoea last time” “nah I just shit liquid”😂. Also shitrat definitely told sol
I want so much for this show to work for you guys like it's working for me. As with before, I get some of the legit critiques; stuff that just isn't working isn't working. I get it. As much as I'm enjoying it though, I agree at least that the length of the episodes and the plotting out of the story hasn't been the best. But I'm still enjoying the performances and each week I've been happy to be back in the Star Wars universe.
For people who think this show really works... it makes me genuinely curious what other shows they like or think are good. The best comparison I've seen is people who think all the CW shows are great. They probably love this as well. I mean no insult by this but I just don't know how people think those shows or this are of any real quality. It just seems like the lowest bar possible to reach for.
@@dwarfpoacher In my case I wouldn't say it "really" works. But, that it just works. Anything that doesn't work for me I just move on from. Which has made it hard for me to try to do my own review videos lol.
"I'll show her the goods" had me cracking up 😂
Hey Kristian - Thank you for pushing back at 58:00 - "You don't want to talk about the good things?" 👏👏👏
The travel Tushy is insane. I can't wait to see someone with that strapped to their belt like Jedi lightsaber
Every episode feels like the Secret Invasion finally.
The i phone shits on her face!! Jajajaj kristian you killed me jajajajaj
If this show didn't have the name Star Wars attached to it, there is no way anyone would be reviewing it. The writing is that of a horrible CW show or a daytime soap opera
Agreed 👍🏼
@@JohnCocozza facts!
😂😂 you’re killing me - I’ve been calling green lady’s apprentice “Colin from accounts”
So many good points here. 95 percent of Star Wars fandom ( probably more) didn’t read the Plageuis book. So head butting a lightsaber was not received well and was really confusing to most people instead of being something really cool.
its high republic lore that vernestra gets force visions while traveling therough hyperspace. probably what they were referencing
I've been waiting all day for this! LFG!
I did NOT expect that tushy ad
Sol knew the entire time that Mae was pretending to be Osha. He was disarming her by playing along by calling her Osha and telling her to drive and hugging her and talking to her.
You listened to Roxy! The border and the logo really stand out. It’s also really tasteful, and not distracting. I love it!
I suspect this story is about how separated twins are reunited many years later.
Once again I see A CERTAIN SECTOR of the Internet complaining about the shirtless sith when slave Leia was literally a thing. These people always pick and choose when to be mad
Two wrongs don’t make a right
@@MichaelPK03 my point is you cant like one and hate the other
@@kiki42719right, tell that to Kathleen Kennedy who produced many of those 80s and 90s movies and had a part and is doing the same thing with Men now. Add on Weinstien personal assistant hired to direct this. What?! Then you see them doing it to males now 😂🤷♂️. The decisions from top down have been awful from Disney with this and many shows and movies. Non cartoon.
I mean the difference is that Slave Leia while 100% for the male gaze was done 20+ years ago and nothing close to that has ever been done since. Also all the clamoring that woman are more than just sexual objects/fantasy but in this show we’ve had a lot of the female gaze with Shirtless Yord/Qimir and their muscles but nothing even remotely sexy for the male gaze because it is shamed and looked down upon nowadays by parts of society. Hell in Marvel Movies Thor is naked shows his ass but when was the last time a female character in the MCU was even half as naked or sexualized as Thor or Cap.
@@venenders170 Kathleen Kennedy, the one behind many of the movies sexualizing Females in the 80s and 90s is now doing it to men. We have come full circle. Disney is a disaster right now. Thankfully they did inside out 2 or this year would look all time bad
I want to see the accountant Jedi on your show now lol.
I’m a little disappointed that you two didn’t realize that Sol actually did know it was Mae from the start. I two was one of the people complaining at the end of last weeks episode that how will he not sense/recognize that it’s Mae, but they made it clear off jump that Sol clearly knew with the way he called out Osha’s name as she was sneaking into the cockpit to stab him to let her know, aye I know you’re there. Then the way he abruptly embraces her with a hug to yet again take away an opportunity for her to attack as he tries to simply talk to her. He’s probably also responsible for the ship “losing power” to further halt her intentions. I also think this was the strongest episode so far due to the Qimir/Osha moments but good lord with everything else in this episode it continues to suffer.
Gotta be careful with "knew from the start", "had suspicions" and "figured it out quickly" though. On one hand we're expecting Force use to be all-revealing, and on the other we'd have to accept that Sol would knowingly leave Osha on the planet at the mercy of Qimir and/or forest creatures.
It's better as currently portrayed that he realized while being stuck on a ship that has been sabotaged. Or he himself if evil and we would be awakened to that fact in the end.
No Sol did not know it was Mae all along. Follow that logic means he purposely left Osha on the planet all alone either to be killed by wild life or killed by Qimir. Stop trying to make leaps in logic to defend/justify bad writing in this show. Also the Osha Qimir moments themselves don’t make sense. Osha was ready to have her sister killed by Yord because she murdered 2 Jedi but Qimir is naked and plays vulnerable bad boy and suddenly it’s forgotten and forgiven that Qimir killed 8 Jedi 2 of which were her friends Jecki and Yord, tried to kill her, her master and her sister and is the one who manipulated and put her sister on this path in the first place. But she spent less than 1 day with him and suddenly shes curious about the dark side and putting on his mask. A gentle breeze is enough to make Osha and Mae change their motivations and personality.
@@venenders170 precisely. Sol realized later (and in the context of this show with its flaws, that's the best interpretation). You hit the nail on the head about what is often weak in these shows: turning somebody to look past the slaughter of people they were allied with should never be a 1 day flip - unless there's some personality changing process explained to be behind it (brain wipe, reprogramming, possession, psychic power) otherwise, this should be a lengthy process of painting the former comrades as the "true" evil, revealing/twisting past events to show their misdeeds and corrupt policies, frame jobs, etc.
@@venenders170 not trying to defend the bad writing for this AT ALL, I’m just simply stating that in THIS episode it was CLEAR to see in how Sol was acting towards Mae that he knew which twin was with him. Nothing to do with “following logic”, I simply stating something that I noticed and that I was surprised that Kristian & Mike didn’t. So I guess I apologize that you didn’t understand my comment..? And yes I did like the seeds of manipulation scenes between Qimir & Osha, those scenes specifically featured improved writing and a tone more in line with what I was hoping the show would be, the cunning manipulation from a Sith.
If a Sith apprentice was “ousted” it’s in the form of death. Qimir would not be allowed to live. I’m still thinking we see Darth Tenebrous at the very end slicing Qimir for breaking the rule of two.
Love the honesty Kristian… completely agree about House of the Dragon too. It’s the only show I actually look forward to watching
The nitpicking is beyond annoying at this point. The original Star Wars movies aren’t that great either but people still love them.
Word
I’m assuming the Venestra getting sick in hyperspace is from the books/comics
I think Sol couldn't sense Mae because his mind was clouded by fear. He's a mess most of the episode. We even see his fear turn into anger briefly.
This makes me really want to read the Plageuis book.
One of the best episodes of Big Thing in recent memory, I was dying laughing when yall were talking about the Sht Rat and Pss Bot. I agree with Mike, I thought the Sht Rat told Sol off screen
My god, the level of cringe that Disney Star Wars has reached breaks my heart.
People being up in arms with star wars being sexy, whereas many of those same people had their awakening from Leia in return of the jedi nor complained about what she wore in that film. The Twi'leks. There are literally gentlemen clubs and strip joints in the galaxy.
Steph, you were missed this week!
Vernestra is the most poorly written, most poorly acted, and most nepotism I've ever seen in television or movies. It's shocking how horrible this character is.
19:39 A majority of Star Wars fans were introduced to the franchise as kids. The problem is a lot of fans who complain online haven’t loved Star Wars since they were kids. Correct me if i’m wrong but out of the three trilogies we got, Mike and you only like one. While liking a few things until you got to Andor. Well interesting enough isn’t universally loved by the fans.
And I say all this respectfully. This is not the answer just my opinion.
kinda suspect that the sith dude was venestra's student, just a vibe
Smiley is the apprentice of the short tracker pronoun rodent alien who is a Sith lord.
What is the name of that planet? Hawk Tuah?
I actually don't mind the shit-rat. It kinda reminds me of the cheesiness of the little people in costumes in the original trilogy. Love me some ewoks
If you understand that Sol knew that was Mae the entire time and it was him who was tampering with the comms and ship along with lying about turning himself in and confessing, you can see it's him who is the "Corrupt" and Qimer is the "Teach" in the title of the episode. Also seems that Qimer is likely a Sith outcast and will become the first Ren, not sure why everyone is holding on to the "Jedi might call me a Sith" so literally. I think Qimer is out to expose the Sith to "tip the scale" so that dark side users like him can be free from any order like he's clearly said last episode
At best that gets around the technicality though, since Sith are supposed to be defined by their use of the Dark Side, their dabbling in forbidden Force practices, and their use of red sabers. That said, the one good thing the Jedi discussions recognized is that there are splinter orders of fallen Jedi and non-Jedi Force users in pockets. I'll accept if someone says, files or redacts a report chalking up Qimir as a *Sith pretender that fell from the Jedi Order and wanted to sow hysteria about their possible return.*
It seems pretty clear to me that Sol is the Sith Lord and that revelation really explains all the characters decisions. It feels like the Usual Suspects. A great movie, but if you break that up into 8 episodes, you’d spend the first 7 episodes scratching your head
Vanestra has force visions in hyperspace. It’s a reference to canon high republic content
All of a sudden Sol is a suspect... Because everybody knows that he hated those kids and he finally snapped. Everybody 😂
I'm enjoying the series, I think the hate is just because people write mentally what they want to see in the series too much, SW always been kinda like this series, not too good but it is always like this.
I’m exactly on the same page with you and Mike on this show. Hopefully 7 and 8 will be good episodes that further the Sith storyline. Miss Steph not being here this week but hopefully she’ll be on next week!
Dont want Plagueis. Good chance they will ruin him.
I wonder if Qimir was Vanestra’s padawan a long time ago?
The pitch was a Asajj Ventress story but was told to change it and this is what we got.
Well an Asajj Ventress story would be dumb, got all of that in the animated shows.
Listening in the gym and “sh!tbot and p*ssrat” almost had me dropping the weight on myself 😂
I liked what they did with the character work this episode. He is nothing like Kylo. Kylo always lead with anger if you look at his conversations with Rey. He wasn't good at deception or charm at all.
The way I see a show like the Acolyte (plus various other Disney+ shows) compared to a show like House of the Dragon is like you’re getting a meal. Each ep of HotD is like being served one course of the most phenomenal food you’ve ever eaten and is a whole meal within itself. By the end, you’ve had 10 exquisite courses resulting in the finest dining experience of your life. With Acolyte, each ep is like being given a plate with a few breadcrumbs on it, while the chef stands there and says, “hmmm I wonder what these breadcrumbs could be…” because they don’t have enough food for every course. So you sit through 7 courses of that and then for the last one, they give you a piece of toast.
Everyone got chills at the very end scene of this episode. Also, the scene before that, with her helmet on, was an almost subtle homage to Spaceballs' Dark Helmet.
when Osha put Darth Peen's helmet on you could tell it was a rubber prop hahahah it wiggled a little bit go back and watch
Ahch To or Hawk Tuah ?
I love his lightsaber. That black is nice.
Completely agree that Qimir and Sol/Jecki are/were the best part of the show. I like Amandla Stenberg, but they gave her nothing to really work with. I'm not really liking the show so far, but I will say I am looking forward to seeing where episodes 7 & 8 go.
@Kristian Harloff 55:55 Am I the only one that noticed one of the creatures from Khofar literally gave one of the Jedi the double bird and essentially told the Jedi to "F OFF". That was unexpected, but funny as hell! 😅
Sheev is where its at!. ( I got 2 turn tables and a microphone)
OMG! That’s so funny that you brought up Vernestra hating Hyperspace. I just found out today from Star Wars explained that that’s apparently from the High Republic books…when she goes into hyper space her body shuts down and she has force visions that apparently are very upsetting so she only does it when she has to ..Idk
So it's an Easter egg for book fans and Mike is being critical cause he has checked out the show. I think if he's checked out the show just stop watching it.
so they gave a master jedi anxiety...? probably not qualified to be in that position then........
@26:20 love this reaction 😂

Episode lengths are my biggest concern tho. It feels rushed
We need a spin off show.... the adventures of Shit Rat and the iPhone droid. With special appearances from Piss Bot and Babu Frik. It will be the greatest SW content of all time.
I’m still mad about the Jedi wookiee lol .
I’m just leaving this comment here, I check out most of your shows but know nothing about SW. Will you review the new Beverly Hills Cop?
Vanestra is gotta be a friend of the family .... well, Mike just confirmed it
I heard the term "Fandom Menace" today, and other than amusement not sure how to feel about it.
Yeah it’s pretty cringe
Ok now I want a Shit Bot and Piss Rat series! 🤣
Sure I'm not the first to say, I like that Mike can take the thumbnail unseriously.
Off subject can we have a series on Baylan and Dark Jedi? Sooner or later they're going have someone to replace Ray Stevensons but I would see that spin-off before any of this other stuff coming out
Also for Mike though I doubt he’ll read this the original pitch for the Acolyte Headland gave was to be set in the prequel era with Dooku being the master who was still publicly a Jedi of the order but was already Palpatine’s Apprentice training and giving missions to Asaj Ventress to kill Jedi in secret without the council knowing to prove herself and gain strength. That pitch while turned down was than molded to what became this show set during the high republic. It’s one of my issues with this show as a whole that this shows feels way to prequel era in how the Jedi act and respond to be set in the High Republic era.
did you make all that up?
I can't call this a better episode, but the little it did paved the way for a logical conclusion to it all IF it does certain things to tie things off. My biggest complaint of this episode is that nothing happened in several scenes, stretching a
Sol is going to tell his story in season 9 💯👀
He probably didn't want to speak to a padawan about something so serious. He wanted to speak to Venestra
Acolyte should of never come out during Hot D.
Do you mean HOTD?
@@tylerpifer5966 No.
Unfortunately I've read all of the High Republic novels and in one of them, it's established that Vernestra doesn't like hyperspace.....so it was a goofy nod.
You guys are too funny. Enjoyed this. So the line about not doing well with hyperspace is reference to Vernestra's backstory, wherein she has visions about future events or similar while traveling through hyperspace. If one does not read or follow all this lore of easter egg characters, that interaction is so out of place and meaningless. They have to kill off the weirdly tall english bloke right? Also, the handheld device originally had white lights until Mae reset it to factory. Then it was red. If I noticed, surely Sol did. Again, enjoy the content but missed Steph. Thanks.
