Kennedy says she cried when reading this script. I thought she meant cause she was moved, didn’t realise it was cause it was garbage
She’s so brain rotted she thought this show was a masterpiece. $180 million, don’t forget that.
She cried!? 😮
@@Sgt.Leonardo TBF.... I "think" the article referencing crying was that "the room was crying"... but it was never said that KK cried.
I was optimistic coming into this show. Both flashback episodes were breaking points for me. This show STINKS.
its a mystery crime show
@@olivercastillo5883yes. An absolutely terrible one at that ffs
@@olivercastillo5883 ...but there hasn't been any mystery lol
It's so dragged out. They weren't going to reveal the sith until the finale as a cliffhanger for season 2.

The wookie was controlled by the power of many, but they were defeated by the power of one 😂
Even the biggest wookie can be taken down by a 6 punch combination
Trinity does have the power of the one now since revelations 😂
@@CaptnMexico21 that movie changed The One, into The Two … all of a sudden when neo and Trin are close (but not too close) that they generate heaps of power for the machines… or something. I only saw it once and I’ve let it fade with little resistance
Such a weird sequence.
Remember Trinity is the One.
I can’t get over the fact that this show took 180 million dollars to make.
🤔 Jedi Counsel always make it a point to say a child is too old to be chosen 🤔 so that means they take babies 🤔 or toddlers soooo if an adult jedi raises them to be jedi and that's all they know shouldn't be too much conflict within right 🤔
Maybe they spent most of that on catering.

it looks pretty good, the writing is just terrible
Fact: Most people think the witches were saying “The Power of one, the power of two, the power of many.” Not the case. They’re saying “the power of Manny” b/c he is carrying the show.
Manny brings the guns to a lightsaber fight
True. Manny is the only good thing about the show
3:53 Trying to sleep and I just bursted out laughing 😂😂
In 1 minute. Sol didn't know oceja existed, to wanting her as a padawan and absolutely loving her so much instantly! This is the weirdest show I have ever seen.. Nothing makes sense
I just hope there's a lot of cut scenes. So much didn't make sense and just horrible writing. Ugh.
How did they spent all that time on the planet looking for the vergence and never saw the huge temple on top of the mountain 💀
I think we all underestimate how big planets are in Star Wars. It's a planet, not a city or a country which you could cover in 7 weeks, it's a planet. If it's the size of say Earth, it could make sense.
@@GrahamDayFortressofGeekWe all assume they have spaceships capable of scanning an entire planet for certain kinds of signals. They couldn’t detect a giant temple/mine emitting electricity? Please 😝
@wedamon I mean they all had metal detectors 😆 so clearly they can't. Ugh, if this were 1000 years ago instead of 100 it would at least make more sense
The ending credit song was the icing on the shit cake. Lucasfilm has absolutely zero clue what fans want from this franchise.
Deliberate departure. Appealing to young girls.
I felt the EXACT same way. I was in absolute disbelief when I heard the music. This is NOT Star Wars.
I was so offended as a Star Wars fan. Keep pop music away from Star Wars. it doesn't fit at all. It feels like they were trying to cater to teenage girls.
No way did Dave Filoni have any imput on this series like they try to blame him for it. This show was made when he was making Ahsoka and season 3 of the Mandalorian. The story was written by people who wanted to tell a girl power story and thats all well and good but nobody cares the jedi tried to take out this little girl really
@@Ringking-ws7bz both mando 3 and Ahsoka were terrible so I could very much see Filoni having input, especially since he's CCO of Lucasfilm
General Hospital is better written, more compelling and less predictable than The Acolyte.
It's crazy to think that Andor and the Acolyte are in the same universe. Like imagine the Acolyte's characters interacting with Andor's characters.
Droopy McCool exists in the same universe as Luthen Rael. Not defending The Acolyte, just making the point that it's not necessarily unrealistic for wildly different characters to come from the same place, let alone from the same UNIVERSE.
Do George Washington and Shirley Temple exist in the same universe?
@@chrisf5828what a horrible take. This is what happens when any buffoon is allowed to comment on the internet
Kristian, best point ever, how the hell does Kathleen Kennedy still have a job. She is literally destroying Star Wars and has its fan base potentially in a worse place than after The Last Jedi
Just wait until that first Rey teaser trailer drops....
@@cwell510 I'm very worried about that movie now with its director and after seeing whats happened with Acolyte BUT on the flip side, the writer wrote on Peaky Blinders and that show is HBO quality. Everyone also loves Rey

It’s because of wokeness. It’s still a thing to bow down to it in Disney no matter how false it is.
The power of one…episode left.
Then we can all move on 😅
I honestly believe if you gave ChatGPT the right prompts and stuff to base on you could write a better Star Wars show than the Acolyte.
Edit: So I did that very thing. I told chat GPT to write me a Star Wars show that is machiavellian and feels like game of thrones about a brother and sister trying to succeed their father.
These are just a few lines of the many it gave me: “The Sith thrive on ambition, on cunning. The Empire we have built stands on the precipice of glory, but only if we are willing to grasp it."
"Kael, you will journey to Coruscant. The heart of the Republic. Plant seeds of dissent. Divide their unity."
Take those 2 lines and extrapolate that into a whole show with a Sith master and apprentice and that would be an amazing show!
This episode seems to have broken even some of the more ardent defenders.
Even on the star wars reddit I've seen less people defend it then even just last week. However there are still some people defending it which just baffles me
yep even grace randoff has turned on the show
They fckin tricked us into watching episode 3 again, this show is insane bruh.
😂😂😂😂😂
If it turned out that this was the flip side of a coin and portrayed all the events in a different light and revealed new shocking truths, that would be cool. But it’s just plays out the way you expected it to based on what we’ve already seen.
A mystery thriller series? What’s the mystery?
Exactly.. this show just doesn't really have a point. The characters have very muddled motivations most of the time and it's unclear what we are supposed to think
This is the best comment 😂😂
I was talking to my friend and we came up with the fact that Dune (2021) cost $165 million. That movie was gorgeous and screenplay was FANTASTIC. Get that team to write a freaking Star Wars show. I'm sure they all love Star Wars as well.
The difference is andor was made by phenomenal people and acolyte was made by people who are not phenomenal
When Sol first saw the children he also saw Mother Korill, who was very harsh with them, then when he sees them with Mother Aniseya, she attacks them, throwing them to the hard floor, then she attacks them again, but this time Mae is able to protect herself and Osha. Then Mother Aniseya invades Torbin's mind with some voodoo force, plus Mother Korill is again being very aggressive and threatens the Jedi multiple times. Then Mother Korill takes an attack stance with her spear, and Mother Aniseya does some more voodoo force shit, and Sol sees Mae starting to turn into dark smoke. How is he, or the other Jedi not supposed to think that these witches are bat-shit crazy and are endangering the children. Child services would have been all over that shit. I know the writers are trying to make us hate the Jedi and sympathize with the witches, but my question is, why? Why are they painting the Jedi as assholes, and the witches are misunderstood women who are being persecuted by the Jedi? The Jedi were looking into the convergence of the force, that's the only reason they were there. The witches fled their previous planet due to persecution, but we don't know who were persecuting them, or what their reasons were, because we are not told or shown. The witches are basically Doctor Frankenstein, and the Jedi are the villagers with torches and pitchforks, and Mae and Osha are the creature. Is it really that blatant a rip-off?

I have absolutely no faith in Skeleton Crew. It stars children. We are done for.
John Watts(Skeleton Crew showrunner & writer) directed teenage kids pretty well in the “No Way” SpiderMan trilogy(students in the High School). And he directed the kids in Cop Car great as well. I have faith in Mr Watts, Lucasfilm these days not so much

That show will be trash as well.
I agree 100% . What is this obsession with children ?
The end credit music was actually the thing that annoyed me the most. This is STAR WARS. It’s space FANTASY and we are getting modern pop music. What the f*ck is going on man, who is overseeing this stuff? It all seems absolutely clueless.
of all the things u can hate on that upsets you just shows u have an agenda
@@olivercastillo5883That’s a leap. I like the show, didn’t like that song. Keep the vocals and melody the same, but space it out! Modern, I’m fine with, Earth-bound, kind of an illusion breaker.

the problem with this show is the same for every disney plus show it seems . they bring up some cool things and then wander around with horrible ideas and then have to somehow wrap it all up in one episode and there is no chance they can do it
They just don't know how to tell a story..
The entire sequence of the Jedi going to the witch base and eventually killing all of em was such a jumbled mess of nonsense character decisions... None of these people act like people at all
I'm struggling with this show to figure out what the end game of this season is. Is it another showdown with Manny? Like what are we trying to accomplish? We have one more episode left of this, and I've been thinking about it. What is the goal of this season? It's not a murder mystery anymore. We know who is the culprit of that. We barely got any "Sith" lore. Someone help me understand lol.
Bro, Mike’s face gets wilder and wilder each new thumbnail for each episode. I love how he gives no fcks whatsoever for this show. Seriously…where did the budget go for this show?
The thumbnail belongs in a museum for how glorious it is. 😀
Someone walked away with a FAT check lol.. $180M budget... $20M spent on the show lol
This whole thing seems like some mobbed up crooked union construction project where guys just line their pockets with the excess.
Mike is too much. Those thumbnails are precisely.
Leslie Headland should be brought up on murder charges for killing Star Wars! This show is seriously the worst thing that has ever happened to the franchise...and that includes the Holiday Special. The only good thing to come from it are the brilliant weekly episodes from The Critical Drinker completely eviscerating it!
Can someone PLEASE explain to me, this episode is basically meant to be Sol explaining to Mae, who's strapped to a table, what happened 16 years ago. Agreed? So WHY??? SHE WAS THERE!!! She saw everything. Everything it makes zero sense that this flashback is him telling Mae the story of what happened. Only Osha didn't witness it. Terrible, terrible writing.
I posted this verbatim on another channel lol. It's weird.
This episode was so bad it even broke Grace Randolph! Shocking
Lol!!! Yes!!! 😂
She’s also a politician. She sees from where the wind is blowing, and adjusts.

Same. My boy Little Platoon is making some great essays on each episode.
You guys mentioned that a flashback for Qimir would have been way better. That didnt happen cause he was basically supposed to dip out of the show after episode 5 and be saved for season 2 but Leslie Hedland changed it so he would be in it more. So originally we were supposed to get barely any of him. Thats how terribly this show was written and planned out
If Skeleton Crew is in the Filoni universe, I can safely say that the ONLY upcoming Star Wars project I have any interest in is Andor ☹️
I laughed out loud when wave pool witches just poof disappeared WTF was that

Wave Pool Witches is my new band name.
If Mae witnessed Sol murder her mom, why is that not the first thing she tells Osha when she sees her?! Does she lose her memory?
I said the same thing. It's so incredibly contrived
The worst type of writing is when problems would be solved if the writer would just have the characters talk to each other
And why does OSHA lose her memory? Sol catches her from falling, and the next time we see her, she's waking up asking, "What happened?"
Coz they have to save the conversation until the last episode haha
I will say the discussion of episode 7 has made watching it worthwhile.
better not call sol
Underrated comment.
“I can tell you right now, i’m not gonna watch Agatha!” 😂 Yep, same for me.

Yes, I am a paid bot account. Thank you for noticing.
Rules of telepathic battle at 51:11 Steph. O get the confusion, but it was basically this:
1. Koril moved the witches to the back room
2. The witches linked together and controlled Kelnacca; we can assume that is no easy feat because Kelnacca is a Master Jedi and these witches are individually weaker than Mother Aniseya, who has shown to at least be more powerful than 2 together
3. With resistance from Kelnacca, Indara pushing back is too much for them
4. Indara isn't targetting their physical location necessarily, she's disrupting their circuit that is connected in Kelnacca's mind
5. Feedback short circuits the brains of the witches joined in the circuit
6. This either knocks them out or fries their brains (i.e., unconscious or brain dead) - not Indara's intention, but the consequence of being forced out
If they weren't dead then (which I don't personally think was the case) they are left incapacitated in a collapsing, burning fortress, so they're dead after the fact, all because of Jedi interference, so Indara would still feel bad, and be tempted to covet this up due to culpability in the situation.
None of that is an endorsement of the show though, just that this is how the sequence plays out.
Love the thumbnail. Perfectly Accurate
It’s like they went in trying to make a YA SW fan fiction film. So many things throughout the series are things we don’t see in SW but they sprinkle them throughout this show. Yord being shirtless to appeal to that fandom, The Stranger(Smilo Ren) going nude into the ocean while Osha watches him, Aniseya in Torbin’s mind giving seductive speech giving any of his “desires”, and that song that sounds like 50 Shades of Grey song at the end.
Obviously the writing, directing, performances, and lack of emotional connection to any of these characters are a way bigger issue but I just wanted to point to this aspect of the show.
It’s the worst big-budget TV show in the history of television! It’s so bad you have to fire every executive and writer involved with this garbage ASAP!
Kathleen Kennedy and Dave Felloni would be a start
I wouldn’t say it’s the worst
i think there is some studio interferecne with a certain someone with his star wars is for kids attitude.
@@olivercastillo5883Headland already admitted Kennedy told her make a "Lesley Headland" story. That trumps any rumour or speculation. This is Headlands story
Sadly it isn’t the worst Disney plus Star Wars or marvel show . So yes , those executives should be fired because of the endless amount of garbage we have been getting
That thumbnail is a work of art. I LOVE IT! 😆
"It cant be any worse"

The Acolyte is by no means perfect and I wanted to defend it from some of the criticism I know Kristian has after watching his reaction and some of the takes I know Old Man Kalinowski will have, but this show isn’t really worth defending.
If only Anakin went into a 10 year Jedi trance he could of awoken to find himself on the council
This is what I've been saying. Poor Ani tried so hard to get promoted and this guy did nothing.
@@deanlewis6109considering it was a 16 year gap, it is conceivable he did cool Jedi ish to earn promotion in the following 6 years. That said though, their makeup people suck for aging up a teen to 30-35 year old with the makeup kit for a 50+ year old.
You know...maybe we all are looking at The Acolyte the wrong way. Maybe this is an unintentional comedy masterpiece that is like Tommy Wiseau's The Room. Just trying to make sense of this nonsense. 😄

The look on that woman's face as Kristian explained THE GOOD SON, was priceless. LMAO
The way the episodes are named: Lost/Found, Revenge/Justice, Destiny, Day, Night, Teach/Corrupt, Choice; some of them appear to have been a single episode split and/or moved. I think Destiny/Choice and Day/Night were meant to be just 2 episodes and they split them up. Which makes me wonder if they had a different ending in mind and they cut it and then split those episodes in the edit to fill out the now empty run time. It feels like 4 of these episodes should have been 2 and we actually only saw 5 episodes and are missing 2 episodes that were cut.
Good point. Sol and Qimir's names mean Sun and Moon. I wonder if that's the title of the last episode.
It just feels like a bad fanfic that was made by people who think the prequels haven't been made yet.
I think this exposes the problem with Rotten Tomatoes for television shows. Often critics will submit their score based on the first few episodes that are screen for them. For the Acolyte it was between the first 2 and 4 episodes. However I dont beleive a critic can change their initial score when later episodes air should they change their mind or submit a seperate review for later episodes on the site. .
So the Acolyte is still 83% postiive on Rotten tomatoes, based on many of the initial reviews from critics being luke warm but giving it the benefit of the doubt that it would improve. However it feels a large portion of the critics who intially gave it postive reviews now are overall negative on the show. It would be like submitting a postive review for the first act of a movie, and then being unable to re submit once you have seen the rest of the movie and overall it sucked.
Each episode has its own individual score which, I believe, affects the overall percentage. So, those critics can still keep posting scores for each episode as it premieres, and many do.
Shows so bad, dude doesn't know what episode he's reviewing 😂
episode 3 directors cut.
I think that’s the sign of a bad reviewer, not a bad show. But yes, the shows remarkably blah
What are you watching! They are reviewing episode 7 dummy
Yes Steph! They ruined Sol's character, he was acting like a pedo! It weirded me out how much he wanted Osha for no apparent reason than a hunch
The witch spell on the wookie was straight up ripping off from the Navi's ritual in avatar, where they try to revive sigourney weaver. Also, they all just fell over and died when Carrie ann moss broke the spell?!
I'm a real casual Star Wars fan, I don't really care about canon or lore or anything like that. I just want any show to answer one question: Why are the characters doing what they're doing?. And in this show I only got that answer for Mae, I have no clue why any of the other characters are doing what they're doing. I also have no clue how the Sith dude fits into the story. It feels like they slammed two different shows together, one about the witches, and one about Sith dude, without there being any thought put into how they fit together. Maybe the final will put all the pieces together, but I don't think it will.
This episode was so disappointing. Sol came off like a pure ass predator
Thank you! I felt like this with his unexplained sudden attachment to Osha. Like how does that not come across as creepy as all get out when he’s just obsessed with this young girl and wants to take her away from the only home she’s ever known? And the way he’s emotionally manipulating her it almost reads like grooming but best case scenario it gives icky savior complex vibes. Without any sort of context as to why he felt that way it didn’t make me sympathize with his character at all.
The last numbers for this show I saw where 25% of Ahsoka's and that was after the first couple of episodes. The numbers have been going down. It's not doing well. Disney has been doing that hyper specific qualifiers to make the show seem like the viewership is strong. It reminds me of those incredibly specific stats ESPN rolls out during game to make a feat seem special when it isn't.
Rocha made a good point about her turning into a smoke monster... they broke into HER house she doesn't need to explain why she's turning into a smoke monster AND one of her kids just came running in saying "Mama help fire!" so it's possible that's just how she projects her power long range... granted from Sol's perspective... if I'm standing next to you and you just go all smoke monster on me outta no where?! Yeah I'm turning your guts into a Lite Brite.
Lols... love this... if its me
And things are edgy... i ma walk to my daughter and ask how can i help😊
Surely the main purpose and benefit of turning into a smoke monster is that you can't get stabbed? Worst power ever if it can't even accomplish that.
@@deanlewis6109 I think they show it poorly (much like everything else in this) but I think the idea was her torso where she was stabbed was still corporeal... but how it's animated it looks like her whole top half is already smoke lol.
@@b29ak2007 probably faster to get there as a smoke monster or something who knows... we sure won't cause Sol was like "I'm named after the sun let me light you up!"

Hey Kristian, I just wanted to say that you’re doing amazing work with this channel and keep it up. Admittedly I peaked in my movie consumption from 2015-2018 with Collider and Schmoes and it was appointment viewing for me every day (especially the nighttime live shows after Jedi council every Thursday). You guys were a huge part of my early to mid-20’s. But after I went back to school for my masters my movie watching fell off along with my passion for Star Wars (thanks Rise of Skywalker) so it’s been years since I’ve watched your content consistently. But that last few months I’ve been back in full swing and embarrassed I was gone for so many years. Love the Sam interview and welcome back to NYC (or Long Island where I grew up). If you need any pizza/bagel recs in midtown let me know. But I’m just happy to be back in the Schmoes universe again. Feels like I never left. And for the sake of positively I won’t discuss the writing of the Acolyte…
Sol saying Shhit when the possessed Wookie shows up. 😂
The Sith Council is back! 🥃
Torbin should have been the one to kill the mother, that would've made way more sense. He's young, dumb, emotional, and it could've explained why he went into deep meditation for all those years
Regarding the song choice during the credits, it reminded me of the episode of Game of Thrones where Jamie's hand is cut off at the end and then some weird music started playing that did not fit in at all...
Episode 6, and Episode 7 should of been like the first 2 episodes we saw. Then you reintroduce Older Osha, Then you do May killing the Jedi. Through out the so as it is going in this scenario we get flashbacks of Mae and Osha's perspective. But we the audience know what really happened. The bring in Qimir. Because 7 sets up the "cover up." you bring in old Osha and Mae, and establish their ignorance of the real events, and you can continue with this mistaken identity situation. Qimir, should be in the last 2 episodes. This is already setting up for a 2nd season, so might as well Leave Qimir to the end. Have the big fight and then bring in the rescue team.
This the audience can know what has happened, but still has questions that the further episodes can answer. Instead of having 50 different questions in the beginning, and getting half truths, and shotty writing. We should of seen Mother Anisai be the caring mother, and the protective witch later through Mae's and Osha's memories. This also shows that Mae isn't a cold and heartless character, just confused and angry child still.
Its maddening to watch this and see that the show is told in reverse order in some spots and others its just twisted and turned to make no sense. And funny enough it would explain Mae's flip flopping, that got no explanation before this.
But still nothing explains how stone burns down like its ancient dried out wood! And the Vergence is just ugh. The only good thing I learned in the past 2 episodes is that Qimir is a fallen Jedi, not a Sith.
I agree with everyone here and am so happy to be able to come here and feel like my opinions are warranted
hahahaha that thumbnail is amazing
The Acolyte really brought upon the death of the Jedi. I feel ashamed to be a nerd.
I was a huge star wars fan, but the current head of the company killed it for me. I have zero interest in watching anything they do now.
For me right now the only thing that is exciting me is the video games - Jedi Fallen Order, Jedi Survivor, Outlaws, KOTOR remake etc…the tv and film side of things other than Andor have completely died for me. Sucks man.
This goes back to what I found disappointing about the sequel trilogy: too many cooks in the kitchen ... writers and directors who either don't know enough about Star Wars lore -or- are too off the beaten path with their "new vision." I get it; Disney bought Lucasfilm, and George wanted it to be handed over to new, creative talent. Sure. But, you need creatives that keep the stories consistent, giving a little bit of fan service yet can also tell a compelling new story. That's why The Mandalorian and Rebels work: they keep things familiar yet expand on the vision in an intelligent, meaningful way. I'm probably not as angered by The Acolyte as some, but I do agree that there are more disappointments that positives. We'll see what happens in Episode 8, but that's my 2 cents. Keep up the good work, Kristian and team!
Yup worst episode of Star Wars ever. No matter what happens after the first encounter, it was the witches fault that everyone dies. They invaded Torbin’s head first. Mae was literally the one that started the fire and burned everything down, shockingly. No idea how they couldn’t figure out a way to make it so the jedi started the fire and killed everyone, making everything that we have seen like the jedis in hiding or Torbin killing himself make sense. They character assassinated fan favorite Sol making him a seem like a pedo, irrational, emotional, and deciding to let Mae drop to her death. So so dumb
3:53 Trying to sleep and I just bursted out laughing 😂😂

The Acolyte has brought balance to the fanbase, providing an opportunity to vent frustrations and for that I am grateful
Are we at Star Wars Holiday Special bad yet ?

Mikes face in every thumbnail is hilarious 😂 please keep doing it
People have to now accept it. This is NOT a George Lucas Star Wars, it's a Disney Star Wars. Accept it and move on!
This entire episode could have been done in a one minute exposition dump.
They have been on this strange planet for several months. Why are they not freaked out, especially the padawan? Why are they just talking around camp fire like they ware on the easiest mission ever? Some creepy sounds, visions, etc. would build great atmosphere. They are multiple ways to explain strange actions of the jedi, but they are not used at all.
The line about Vanestra being unsettled in hyperspace is a callback to the books for High Republic fans. She has crazy weird visions and stuff in hyperspace
Then she shouldn't be a galaxy peacekeeping jedi. She's not fit for the job clearly
What a lovely, lovely thumbnail 😂

Kyra: I will do whatever it takes to show you that I am worthy, my Lord.
Malakar: Very well. Your first test begins now. You must retrieve the ancient Sith artifact hidden deep within the tombs of Korriban. Only then will I consider taking you under my wing.
Kyra: (determined) I accept your challenge, Master. I will not fail you.
[Cut to Kyra navigating the treacherous tombs, facing deadly traps and ancient spirits. After a fierce battle with a rival Sith acolyte who also seeks the artifact, Kyra emerges victorious, holding the artifact in her hands.]
Kyra: (kneeling before Malakar) I have retrieved the artifact, my Lord. I have proven myself to be worthy of your teachings.
Malakar: (smirking) Impressive, Kyra. You have shown cunning and determination, qualities that I value in an apprentice. Rise, for you have earned your place at my side.
[The scene fades to black as Malakar and Kyra stand together, the darkness of the Sith engulfing them both.]
[End scene]
I was bored, the whole episode was a rehash but told by the secondary unit shooting it lol. They made it seem in episode 3 like we didn't have all the information...and we basically did... none of the mystery aspects really changed from this... some things had a bit more insight like Osha didn't mean to cause the stone burning fire... but she still did it and just told her sister she was going to kill her lol... there was no mind control or Sith influence for that... How were all the witches killed? I mean I saw it... how were they all killed lol? I know what I'm supposed to understand is they used all their energy controlling Jedi Master Fuzz Ball and when Jedi Master Trinity broke the connection they all died of boredom... but nothing in the show is telling me that I'm filling in their blanks!
Can't lie I loved the first two seasons of Gotham; Jim Gordon vs Batman's rouges as their creating their personas was working for me. Gordon getting guns from Penguin so he can take down the Falcone family &Maroni has Victor Zsasz as his bodyguard. Then Jim Gordon fights The Order of Saint Dumas &Azrael; that shit was so much fun. It was Fox's attempt at a CW/SYFY show
Its not that they are not paying attention when it comes to details, music and stuff, they are just trying to cancer their way in star wars by changing the force, changing the motives, changing the way stuff works in this universe, and the music at the end is just to top it off. No other explanation, you have a perfect music background in this franchise and you should never ever ever put a rnb song in it or whatever the fuck it is at the end
16:50 I don’t usually play this game either, but since we’re here: Jecki, Carie Ann Moss, the leader of the Witch coven: none of them were incompetent (despite dying) nor bad/evil/jerks
A point that was missed, the reason Sol kills the witch is because Mae appears to be disintegrating.
He thought her life was in danger
I think the writers, actors and director all missed that point too cos it was absolutely not clear at all.
I agree, the problem is the lack of visual communication with the audience. But also, why on earth dies the witch mother suddenly start doing shadow shadow? What did she expect would happen? She has been nothing but hostile and last time she mind raped the Padawan.. just take 5 seconds to explain what you are to do and you won't get stabbed
It's like I'd you and I are having a tense conversation and I suddenly pull out a gun.. and the when you kill me I go " I was actually gonna use the gun to free my child"
it's so frustratingly stupid.
@MaMastoast Oh I'm 100% with you. I was just pointing out the shows attempt to make Sol look like a villian falls flat
@@benwarren1697 see, the thing is I'm not entirely sure that's what they are trying to do... I find it very hard to understand what I am supposed to get out most scenes in this show
I read this fan comment from another channel. She turned into the smoke monster because that's how the witches "travel" (liken to Marvel' Nightcrawler. Teleportation). Mae rushed in and was in distress (because she accidentally caused the fire). She said that Osha was in trouble.
But yeah, the writers didn't establish that the witches had that ability.
She turned into a smoke monster because she wanted to save Osha.
But naturally if you see that smoke monster. You also would stab it with a lightsaber.
With thousands of Jedi being present during this period I never had a problem with showing some of them as less than "perfect jedi" or tempted by the dark side and how the sith ultimately dupped them. This is such a giant subversion of everything Jedi stand for. It's an absolutely pathetic episode. Whoever wrote and directed it should never be allowed near this type of creative art ever again.
I actually quite like the "the Jedi are flawed" angle... It's just that character motivations and reasons are all over the place in this show
@@MaMastoast That's the thing I totally get what they were trying to go for. They did it in the most shallow and disrespectful way...
Particularly when it comes to introducing new lore, and creatively subverting the old and how it could have vs did manifest in character growth and motivations.
Bad writing is just a shorthand for this debacle.
I was excited when I heard that Leslye Headland was doing a Star Wars show-- I have never seen her other shows but have heard so many good things about them. I was even more excited that we were going to have a show outside of the movie timeline and go into the past. I just don't know how this happened: was there too much studio interference, if the idea was just bad to begin with, they brought in mediocre writers? Somehow this turned into a mess. The only positive thing that might come out of this is that one day we might hear the inside story of how this happened. That might actually be entertaining.
So bad it's unbelievable
Leslie just doesn't understand the simplest thing about star wars. It's good vs evil. To her it's the witches vs jedi.... some are good some are bad it's just all up to perspective. That's not star wars. The jedi are good. It's not a perspective.
Kristian: “man oh man, this episode STOINKS” 😂
35:40 - I was so excited to see something non-Skywalker period and I feel like with this flub we might never get another chance at this point. It reminds me of when Solo came out in the summer after they released 3 or 4 straight December 1 Billion + movies...
Lucasfilm keeps repeating the same mistakes over and over again. It needs new leadership badly.
You know, Kristian's skunk fighting bagels in jedi robes reminds me of this old youtube series called "the partition of self destructing muffins"
These shows work better with at least 45 minutes but the characters need a reason to do what they're doing. Even Ahsoka characters have backstory & reason
Id say "reason" is debatable
