Best 4th wall breaking we've seen. The comedic timing in this one was ON POINT across the board. I'm usually very critical of jokey stuff but this didn't bother me at all. And the action was top notch, and we got very human and meaningful character moments too.

My favorite camo was Wesley as blade!! And I love him saying the one and only 😂😂😂😂 (even he dont think the current blade is going to get done). And that's so Kool that Tatum got a chance to play Gambit. I didn't think he could pull it off but he did okay. I was disappointed that no other X-Men showed up. That Henry Cavill wolverine was epic! I think thats what makes it so great. It toed in everything we already know and was empty enough it wise we could shit our brains off and just laugh. I think that was the reset. Stop expecting a 27 movie intertwining arc. Deadpool is the perfect character bc they can do anything they want and it doesn't ruin cannon. Or have to be cannon. His character was always sort of on the "what if" spectrum and satire. This is the movie we all needed.

One bone to pick here: if you think Channing Tatum had a bad accent in this movie, it’s because you’ve never been to Louisiana. Channing is actually from there, and while he definitely dials it up to 12, that accent might be the most accurate and true to life cajun accent I’ve ever seen put to film. It’s part of what made it so great. They gave us the dream casting AND they let Gambit be who he is, and god bless em but that is exactly what cajun folk sound like. And its half the fun because once you DO lock in to the accent and hear what they’re saying? By god. Cajun folk are next to Australians for crazy slang. This man said “I’m sure I was ready when I shot out mah daddy dick” it don’t GET no more cajun than that lmfao

You mentioned , why did we need the Deadpool Corp. I think because why not. It was awesome! :) and who knows IF or whenever we will get another Deadpool film. So instead of always trying to tease and build for the future. Just give us the good stuff now presently. There are infinite comics stories. We don’t have to drag one storyline for years.

I stayed away from the internet particularly reviews on TH-cam until I saw it this afternoon and I'm happy I did. The only cameos that genuinely surprised me and that I had absolutely no idea about were Channing Tatum and Wesley Snipes. The rest of them were spoiled through leaks online or the trailers.

Update: I did finish watching D&W a second time earlier today and I will probably watch it a few more times thanks to Regal Unlimited Plus. That $21.99 per month can go a long way especially when the weather is so hot.
Has my mind changed after a rewatch? No. While I did catch a few more jokes I didn’t hear the first time and giggled like Deadpool saying on your left. But D&W falls apart in the third act. I mean, what exactly were Cass, Logan, and Wade all doing during the last part of the movie? Then more gay jokes with that one guy checking out Logan’s ripped torso. Then B-15 instantly crushing on Peter.
After we see Blade, Elektra, Gambit, and X-23/Laura, the movie falls apart. It also got me thinking, how will Deadpool fit in an Avengers movie? Disney is going to push for PG-13 as those are the ones that break a billion mostly. Deadpool movies deals with him narrating and breaking the fourth wall. No other MCU movie does this.
Imagine if Deadpool had been in Infinity War or Endgame? The movie wouldn’t work with all his cursing, ultra violence, and him cracking jokes while looking at the camera. Breaking the fourth wall would take us out of the immersion with the plot. I’m not sure how Deadpool will fit in the PG-13 MCU moving forward. The Acolyte gets hated on for breaking lore because what Ki-Adi-Mundi said in The Phantom Menace, but if Deadpool mentions other IPs like Batman, nobody says he’s breaking canon.
One of my favorite moments from it was when we first see Dogpool and “Lady in Red” by Chris de Burgh plays. I do love that song and “The Power of Love.” And I enjoyed the line when Deadpool said Hugh has to portray Logan until he’s 90 or when he says: “I’m telling Blake” after Wolverine had his claw up his ass. And another dick joke when Logan said not everything on Wade was asleep when they were tied up facing each other.
My other favorite part remains what Elektra told Deadpool after saying Punisher and Daredevil are all dead. Then Deadpool says: I’m so sorry. Then Elektra says: It’s fine (or it’s ok). You can hear some laughter especially from females. It’s so subtle that you can miss the joke. And I did hear when Ryan replied: You never liked me after Blade said: I don’t like you. There’s a lot of inside jokes in it.
Love the Pretty Woman reference to the TVA and Goo Goo Dolls’ “Iris” playing when that one guy was crushing on Deadpool. Gay and dick jokes in the MCU for the first time in it’s Disney history but Waititi gets blasted for trying to be too funny with Love and Thunder with Zeus talking about orgies and folks fainting when they see Thor’s Van Johnson. I watch I Love Lucy, I know who Van Johnson is.
There’s a moment where you can see Hugh Jackman almost breaking character. It’s when Deadpool sees Dogpool again and Hugh is standing behind him and almost going to break into laughter watching that little dog kept licking DP. I think Hugh Jackman was the best actor in this movie by far followed by Emma Corrin (1980s Princess Di). I think Emma did the best she could with the script. Love when Ryan goes, “Gen Z trauma-dumping”.
While I’m still not a fan of Channing’s Creole accent and I love when Ryan mocks it saying he’s being trained by the Minions or “hit me again, Sling Blade”, I must say Gambit kicked ass in his fights. Way better than Taylor Kitsch in the awful 2009 film. Gambit was always one of my favorite X-Men next to Wolverine back in the early 90s when X-Men and Batman were all the rage. There was always a swagger to him that I loved using playing cards as a weapon. Setzer in Final Fantasy VI drew inspiration from Gambit.
The scene with them fighting Cassandra’s crew brought me back more to the early to mid 90s when talking about X-Men characters with my middle school classmates circa 1993-1995 and not the 2000s that it was paying more homage to. I’m around the same age as Charlie of Emergency Awesome, so he will know what a big deal X-Men was to us prior to when all their movies started coming out by 2K. It’s easy to forget X-Men was Marvel’s A-Team before The Avengers.
This is the gist of what MCU is going through since 2019. The last great MCU movie remains Endgame. No Way Home and Deadpool & Wolverine are not really great movies. They’re good and fun experiences. I’m not sure Guardians 3 is a great movie either. It’s fine for what it is but Russos utilized them better than Gunn ever did where they have a much higher level of importance. The Loki series is what carried Phase 4 and 5.
The loudest applause was definitely for Wesley Snipes for both times I saw it. While Marvel didn’t really break through until Spider-Man (2002) and I’m aware X-Men (2000) came before it, it was Blade who came into film before all the cool ninjas with katanas like Elektra and Deadpool. Before Black Noir.
Blade ‘98 is kinda like the OG for cool af movie ninjas and for Rated-R superhero films. I absolutely love the original Blade to death. The second one isn’t that bad although I did say it was wack in a previous comment. I like Whistler. But the third one was pretty bad. D&W gave Blade it’s tribute that it rightfully deserves. It didn’t just helped jumpstart Marvel, it came before The Matrix, Resident Evil, and Underworld with all cool goth stuff.
    2018 Looper article on Blade
    www.looper.com/133201/how-blade-changed-superhero-movies-and-no-one-noticed/
The end credits scene was Chris Evans talking like Chris Evans. He wasn’t acting. That’s not Johnny Storm anymore. People don’t realize CE’s real life personality is much closer to Johnny than Steve. None of this “language” he said in Age of Ultron. Hearing Chris say it with his native Boston accent made it even more hilarious.
I feel like watching Daredevil (2003) and Elektra (2005) right now.
    RIP Nicepool (aka Van Milder)
I really wanted him to live.
“The Proposal.” 🤣 Yes, I’ve seen that one with Sandra Bullock back in the day in the theater. Now was Blake Lively, Teen Witch’s younger sis, underneath the suit or did she voice her like Matthew McConaughey did for Cowboy Deadpool? Lady Deadpool with a ponytail of Madonna from the Blind Ambitions Tour circa 1990 and Lady GaGa.
The best line still comes from Blade.
“There is only one Blade - and there's only going to be one Blade.”
That, and “Read the room!” But I have a feeling the best lines is the rant Chris Evans said during the end-credits. I will try to memorize that like I did for Ezekiel 25:17 in Pulp Fiction and say it with a Boston accent. Chris ripped an asshole on that one and it might just be one of the funniest lines he’s ever said for any movie he’s been in. That’s not Chris acting!
The biggest mystery remains: Why was Thor crying while holding Deadpool like that? Is it setting up a future scene in Secret Wars? Deadpool can not keep looking and talking to the camera if he’s ever put in an Avengers movie. Or it becomes more of a Deadpool movie again. PG-13 Deadpool in a PG-13 Avengers movie wouldn’t feel right either.

The industry doesn’t gaf about regular people anymore 😂. Because it’s an interview out RIGHT NOW with the actress of Cassandra , dafne Keene AND Wesley Snipes talkin about their roles. And Wesley said that him and Ryan had fake beef for two decades. I’m not gonna believe that there wasn’t a little problem but the problem had to be so small that Ryan texted/called Wesley and asked him to come back as blade to be in the movie. Whatever it was or wasn’t, I’m just glad Ryan did that. Cause Wesley is household name in the black community. and the blerds and half blerds always loved Blade. I was right there as marvel was trying to save itself and blade came out in 97-98. I was 3 years old around that time. Wesley really inspired me to want to learn martial arts at that young age. And he really represented us with those superhero films. Plus marvel would’ve probably gave up if it wasn’t for the success of that first Blade movie. We probably wouldn’t have gotten Hugh if it wasn’t for Wesley showing how you play a superhero. In my eyes, Wolverine and blade are the same person , one is a mutant and the other is a half vampire. But they’re both badasses. But I would want to personally thank Ryan, Hugh and Wesley for this dream come true. I never thought I’d see the day that Blade, Wolverine and Gambit would be on a big screen. I’ve literally been wanting this moment since the late 90s. Watching x-men and Spider-Man on fox before it went off air, had my mind wondering. No matter what , I’m gonna love this film for years to come. Nostalgia biased but idgaf, I grew up with these characters in transitioning era of marvel. People say the earlier years are golden eras but 90s and 2000s are my golden eras.

Love the dynamic between Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, for me some of the best emotional weight, the action was great, and wow the cameos were jaw dropping amazing. Also some of the best humor and fourth wall break. My only criticism is that I thought they could have toned down the cussing, even though this is Deadpool we're talking about, but that's just me, and the post credit scene was weird.

I think the Deadpool Corps battle was a visual representation of what Happy told him at the start of the movie that he basically wants to be an Avenger for his own selfish reasons. That battle is Deadpool fighting against his own selfishness in order to get to a place where he can be selfless at the end of the movie.

I didn't mind X-23's appearance being spoiled in the trailers. As long as they kept most of the surprises secret, which they did, that's good enough for me. Jennifer Garner was already confirmed to be in it, so I was already excited to see her, but I was stoked to see Wesley Snipes back as Blade, Chris Evans playing Johnny Storm again, and I was glad for Channing Tatum finally getting to play Gambit. Most of this movie worked for me, but I felt the 3rd act could've been more climactic. Like maybe Cassandra could've brought her crew to Deadpool's world to wreak havoc and then Blade, Elektra, Gambit, and X-23 follow her through and take the battle to the city streets where the other Deadpools help out while the main Deadpool and Wolverine try to stop Cassandra from using that machine. It also would've been nice if Colossus, Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Yukio could've joined the fight. They were pretty much wasted here. I also thought that given this is technically the last Foxverse Marvel movie and that there was a nice tribute to them during the end credits, I think they should've had the 20th Century Studios logo before the Marvel one at the start of the film. It would've been a good sendoff to that universe. Another thing that bothered me about the movie is how Deadpool got Johnny Storm killed. Sure, we find out he actually did say those things about Cassandra, but why rat him out like that? That just felt out of character for him. Overall, I really liked the movie, but it has some flaws.

Praying Kevin Feige and the rest of Marvel studios sees this comment:
PLEASE BRING BACK WESLEY SNIPES, JENNIFER GARNER, CHANNING TATUM, AND EVERYONE ELSE FROM THE ORIGINAL FILMS (PRE MCU UNIVERSE)!
I was so happy to see these people play these characters again.
I haven’t felt this way about a film since the first Avengers. I guess it’s because all these different characters come from their own worlds. The flavor felt different for their movies. You clearly get the impression that Elecktra and Blade have different lives. Opposed to seeing Antman and Spiderman (Tom Holland) in which those characters feel like they fit in the MCU; in which they do, but what really illustrates that is the energy, humor, story structure and filter lighting they give to set a particular tone. That’s why crossovers are supposed to be special. Which in this case it was special. The first two Captain America films do not apply to my statement.
Anyways, I just wanna say thanks for reading this comment and thank you to everyone involved in the film for the nostalgia. I feel as if my childhood and soul was revived. Please like this comment so it can get some recognition.
