That 1988-89 squad looked like the frontrunner for team of the 90's. They had a young futuristic style with the best passing center in the league in Daugherty (a slim version of proto-Jokic), the modern looking point guard stylings of Mark Price (Nash before Nash), the high scoring shooting guard who could weave through traffic in Ron Harper, (proto-Kobe before Kobe) and the unicorn shot blocker who could shoot from outside in Larry Nance. They even had solid depth with Ehlo and Hot Rod off the bench. Nance being the older veteran who was a bit injury prone ended up being the steadiest contributor of the next few years though. While the first huge step back for the team was the Harper trade, Harper would end up in a series of terrible ACL injuries that destroyed his HOF potential anyway. Price smashed his knee against the scorer keeper's table, and despite a solid comeback, he was never the same. And of course Daugherty's back issue was a constant throughout the early 90's. It's the basketball hall of fame, not NBA. They let anybody in.
Short career, didn't block shots,(nance did), no title. Ramdom NBA fans have no clue who he is. Also Hardaway and Webber don't deserve HOF
They had another big guy too,I think his name was-HOT-ROD-WILLIAMS. When Harper played for Cleveland he was 20+ scorer,I remember one game Jordan had a 50+game and Harper had 38 pts;
@@powerbadpowerbadi know all this but thanks
@@powerbadpowerbadJohn Williams didn't score 20 plus a game

Free agency wasn’t even the same back then so they no they couldn’t team up

I love your channel, but to say that Jordan’s game winner against the Cavs is the great game winner shows the blind bias to Jordan.
First round game winner where neither team made it to the chip is more on the Dame level. Elite, but not greatest ever

Stop saying that fallacy.. the guys simply couldn’t team up in that era , the cap wouldn’t allow it, let’s stop acting like this guys somehow just wanted to compete more than other eras, they didn’t. If they team had the advantage however it happened they rolled with it, if guys could have joined up they would have. Every chance players got in those days to team up they did, from Walton going to the Celtics, though not great could’ve gotten paid more & played a bigger role elsewhere. He chose Boston, Moses orchestrated along with the 76ers, his trade there. My point is stop the phoney narrative there. The Bulls grabbed Rodman & it made them unfairly better than other teams in some fans eyes at the time. Rodman helped by making his value low by his antics but in the end The Bulls wanted that talent ..
Brad was cool but he was soft as fuck Money had Cleveland in a chokehold anyway he won't make it
