Injuries are no question the worst part of athletics. No fan wants to hear about or see them, and no player wants to experience them as their body is the tool in which they use to pay the bills and build a personal legacy. What that said, they happen, and they happen often enough that it changes not just the trajectory of the player’s career, but their entire generation, and the history of the game. They won't understand how good Derrick Rose was, that he could've been a top 5-10 player of all time. Or how much of a fit in the traditional sense Greg Oden was, making him a possible dominant force before injury. Or Brandon Roy, the NBA's next great shooting guard before he ran into his own injury bug. In this video I’d like to celebrate those players, while also talking about their injuries impact on the future and where their careers headed versus trajectory prior to those unfortunate injuries.

3 of my favorite players that lost their possible hall of fame path to injury. No question Rose was headed to greatness, Oden was the last of a breed, and Roy already had Kobe's praise. Fun players to watch, but what I like is they all took it in stride and kept good attitudes about it throughout.

I had so much belief in Oden. I loved the center position as well. When he missed his initial rookie season and came back I still had very high hopes he could dominate. If he would've been healthy he would've challenged Dwight Howard in the late 00s and early 2010s for the title of best big man and defensive player of the year.

The fact that two blazers are on here kills me. That mid 2000 squad could have been something. Greg Oden I was thinking about the other day and how he could have been a Joel embiid type. Everyone knows about Brandon Roy’s short legacy I’m sure. But them with Lamarcus alrdidge that could have been a championship squad. Additions of Andre miller and Gerald Wallace. A young batum and Wesley Mathew’s. man what could have been. Joel pryzbilla!!

If there’s one thing I hate in basketball, or just sports in general, it’s seeing star talent go down to major injury. Each moment of what happened to Rose, Roy, and Oden pains me. D. Rose and B. Roy were legit my favorite players during that era of the NBA. They were just stone cold killers on the floor, man. Too explosive and too clutch, respectively. And, I hate when people try calling Greg Oden a bust. He was never a bust. But, was rather dealt a bad hand and never got a fair shot to live out any part of his career healthy. He always showed signs of potential greatness to become the next great big man in the league. That 24 and 15 game is proof of that very thing. Greg Oden had it. He really had it. Respect to all three of those boys, regardless. Real ones know

dr bryan shutter did videos on all three player sand he said the training they got was botched, and because of oden and rose's explosive playing they should of gotten lots of stretching and pull excersises on their legs ,and should of rested for hours after...
and had rose took more time off he would of never gotten his second knee injury
you even saw rose limping when he returned
he also said all three had deformiites in their legs which also caused the injuries (bow legged, longer leg than the other)
i am someone who has both and you definately need to get therapy and training for them type of issues because had three surgeries on my right knee and one on my left playing sports in my youth and need a cane because i was ignorant to that

Do a Stunted growth on Stephen Jackson had he not been involved Malice in the Palace. He could been a valuable sharp shooter helping teams in he Playoffs similar to Robert "Big Shot Bob" Horry who has 7 rings. At one point he held the NBA's single game 3 point record. He at least one year he could of been an All-Star. I belive Coach Pop missed manage his playing time bringing in emotion and often times isolating the big 3 from the rest of the team. I recalled a few playoff games where Tony Parker blew him off instead of passing to him when he was wide open for 3. Being called Captain Jack tells you he was a good locker room guy and leader. Also do a Stunted Growth on Marcus Dupree of Oklahoma, Trajon Langdon of Duke and the O'Bannon brothers of UCLA who paved the way for NIL'S!!!
Side note on Steohen Jackson winning a State Champship in High School with a Coach named Andre Boutte who won a State Championship with Kendrick Perkins 00. He is one of few coaches to have coached 2 players to Basketball State Championship and those2 players also win an NBA Championship!

Why is he acting like a 12 pt lead with 1:22 left in a playoff game is some unquestionable scenario where you just pull your starters? This is a playoff game. I can understand a season game , but that is hardly an insurmountable lead from a playoff team to eclipse given how many possession you can get off with 1:22. Al the criticism of Thibadeau is classic Monday morning quarterbacking. Hardly anyone would have made a peep about the starters not being pulled if he hadn’t got hurt. Honestly , I’d imagine viewers would be perplexed by the action if indeed he did pull the starters in that situation.

If D Rose never gets hurt, he doesnt have a way to get the jury to sympathise for him. Because he definitely confirmed just about every detail of his victim’s story and his only defense was to just cry about how much he’s been through.

Rose was better than Westbrook initially because Westbrook was still learning the position. I think Oden would’ve been Bynum with better footwork.
