    Hey Matt and Tim,
    So many others talk about hot summer fishing by dragging large worms along the bottom. Yes, worms work. But I listened to your suggestions on “power fishing” in the heat and went to a grassy bay on Lake Champlain this evening. I started with a 6th Sense swim jig in bluegill color, with a blue/black flake Baby D-Bomb trailer from Missile. It took only 5 minutes to catch my PB smallmouth bass. 20 inches in length and 3.39 pounds. My scale read over 5 pounds at first. Then I re-tared it and the weight dropped. It felt more like 5 in my hand. Whatever.
    Thanks!
    Rafa

      It’s the roots under water that’s key in this situation. OR the wind that’s blowing against that bank/area/under water bar is creating CURRENT in the water that can clear up the bottom or color the water. Either which is the case it can favour a bass to station/ feed there.

  • @brianthebroken7601
    @brianthebroken7601 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was up in Michigan last week and I used a chatter bait with a rage baby menace. I would pop it up and let it fall, pop and fall, worked like a charm! I am curious though, if you are using a chatter bait swim jig is it best to constantly reel it in so you get the swim action? The one I was using had more of a round head so I used it like a jig that I would pop up and down on the bottom. Seemed to work like a charm. Just wondering how other anglers use the different chatter baits.

    Bite was tough here this morning, shutdown basically. All last week, everyday I was able to go early in the morning and get plenty of action but, this morning it was dead. Nothing moving, nothing hitting the surface, only saw one minnow swimming around the whole time I was there. But- I did get a puppy- someone threw out two 3 pups about 3 months old- look like huskies I think. I took one and managed to get someone else to take the toner two- she's laying here beside me now, asleep. Poor thing ad a tough morning- someone threw her out, I picked her up, took her to the vet, she got shots, worm meds, and looked over by several different ppl- and then drove about an hour to get her back here- her new home. She's pretty freaked out. Acts like she may not feel that great- which wouldn't surprise me after all that medicine. She was playing with my pants legs while I was fishing though, she'll bounce back pretty quickly. Now I have to figure out what to name her.
