Well, you did it again. And here I was gonna blow another 500.. I know you keep saying these beats got the magic. But I'll tell you right now, in my opinion. It's you guys that have the magic.
Matt I've been watch TB,for almost 6 years now,I was watching some of the old stuff, when you would tell stories from that little room with the rods behind you,it's truly amazing what you and Tim have done, thanks for the knowledge
This channel alone over the last 3 years has made me take leaps and bounds in my fishing compared to most. Using what you teach to a T has put more fish in my hands than I could have ever thought!! Thank you Matt and Tim!! 🎣
Would love to hear you guys expand on some things in a live stream/ podcast format, hearing Matt and tim talk about jig fishing for 2 hours uncut, I think we would extract the ultimate juice from them
GREAT video!!!! I'm in Texas where is close to 1,000° everyday, but now I'm ready to go fishing. Keep pushing out the videos, and thanks to y'all, I'll keep catching fish
I love fishing in the heat of summer also. Alot of guys tell me it's too hot to catch them right now. I never believed that. Past couple years starting learning some pf what u described I'm this video . Have caught a few giants in July and August. .Appreciate all the great info u guys pass along. Best fishing show on the web
Was fishing with my nephew yesterday in the heat…funny from all the info I’ve heard from this channel…I was targeting these exact shaded areas your talking about…it was a fun day! He caught his 1st fish ever and it was a 4 pounder….thanks for all your expertise
Look Matt, you guys are great and all, probably the best fishing youtube channel ever.. But I've got a major issue with you guys and I know I'm not alone on this one. A lot of us are talking... this whole posting a few times a week just aint cutting it.. I'm gonna need you guys to post videos like these 6-7 times a day, every day, to keep up with my addiction. Please fix this IMMEDIATELY. Thanks.
This helps me. I have to fish online because I do not feel safe bass fishing by myself. My fishing partner was my dad and he died. So bass pro sim is my way of keeping it going. This helps me play this where such knowledge is beneficial.
Thank you for explaining the color line. It has always made sense but what you just explained and how I was catching fish the other day just made so much more sense! Great job as always! 👍
Very informative. As a relatively inexperienced angler- where to actually fish on a body of water can b overwhelming especially when only limited time on water. These type of videos help the learning curve.
Terrific vid, Matt. I agree on the confusion of the color line. I initially was confusing “color” line with Mud line. haha. That is color, but caused by boat traffic on busy days. However, the color line you mention is truly based on sunlight penetration in clear water. Good stuff!
@@yangler9935 Honestly, I got skunked. I was on the water for about 30 minutes before a storm came through and stopped all fishing for about 2 hours. I pitched laydowns and available heavy cover. Nothing. Next time...
@@lucascarter2277 Aw dang. The same happened to me too. I got skunked and a storm came along. Well, you'll definitely get some bass next time! I got skunked before watching this video, so hopefully this video will help me next time I go fishing. The storm probably ruined your chances of getting a fish. Whenever you go fishing again, hopefully there's no more rain for you! Good luck next time!
@@yangler9935 Thanks Patrick. I wondered how the post frontal conditions played into that. Hope you have good conditions and catch a bunch next time too.
Been having good luck backing up my walking bait with a Mimic wake bait the size has been larger on the Wake! Love your content and how you walk through each bait and areas!
Love the videos you guys put out. I've learned a lot and applied a lot of what you guys show when I get on the water. I've had some success but am still slow to getting on the fish. That will come with more time and experience on my local lake I believe. I would love to see a video that covers what spinning rods/reels would work for some of the different fishing styles. I know baitcast is better in many cases and vice versa but I'm still learning my baitcasters and can't do a few of the things you guys do without nesting and starting from square one again
I'm a longtime spinning guy; grew up fishing inshore saltwater here in Florida, so spinners are a major comfort zone for me. Where they struggle are fishing heavy cover, heavier baits, and power techniques. I do throw a MH spinning rod that I use for light cover and smaller jigs. It's basically my substitute for a M power baitcaster. Have you checked their Buyer's Guides? Also, Matt did a video of Top 5 rods to own that is fantastic. He chooses spinners for two of his first three rods. It's here: th-cam.com/video/5vhH7U2IOUI/w-d-xo.html . If you haven't already, and you're right-handed, try a left-side reel baitcaster. It's way more natural for me than the traditional right-side reel. Good luck!
Matt and Tim have a rare combination of angling skill and teaching acumen. Believe me, rolling through the amount of content they do with little or no missteps or edit points is not easy, but they pull it off episode after episode.
Hey ya'll, thanks so much for all the content. I've definitely become a better angler from it. I'm in eastern PA and I fish the Delaware river primarily. I take the info I get from TB and try to convert it to higher current situations. A video on ways to alter tactics applied on lakes to be used on rivers would be awesome! Thanks again, keep em coming!
I haven't ventured my way to the Delaware River yet. I live in New Jersey. Not too far, but it's such an overwhelming river. I don't even know where to start.
I hear ya bud! Try singling out a species of fish to target, then its research and development, aka time on the water! You have an idea of what you want to fish for?
I had an absolute killer day yesterday solely on the loon 110 whopper plopper. Fishing a decently clear smaller reservoir here in Northeast Ohio. Caught 6 of 8 total. 5 good ones between 1.5 and 2.75. All catches were casting a few feet away from the rocks along the bank I was Fishing. Lost a 3.5 + but going back for more today!!
Guys say go slow and small when it gets hot. I'm here to tell you, throw that idea out the window. Ever since the post spawn, I've been catching fish after fish working that big jerkbait super fast from the bank, but also from my Bass Buggy too. Fast and loud with no pauses. Big worms are also your friends too. Magnum Ol' Monster, Mann's Jelly Worms, etc...don't be afraid to go big, go fast, and go loud. You can catch your PB at this time of year if you aren't afraid to change things up.
Great video Matt. Thank for all the great information. I learn so much from your videos. Never thought about the color line. Makes since, will have to give it try.
Welcome. Both Matt Allen and Tim Little possess a great deal of fishing skill and teaching ability, and they are both very good at tailoring their presentation to speak to a wide range of anglers. I very much suggest you go back through their video library and have a look; there is some fantastic content in there. As far as gear, take a look at the Buyers Guides - the most recent was spring of this year - and they will give insight as to their favorite rods, reels, etc., at various price points. In my opinion, TB is in the conversation as the best TH-cam bass fishing channel out there. Good luck!

You should always look for a confluence of factors as well. Hard cover that juts out past the “color line”? A spring creek that feeds into an area of thick cover? These are the highest percentage places in my experience. This is also the time of year when it pays to be able to throw baits DEEP into the shade. If there’s an overhang that leans 20’ out over the water, get it waaayyyyyyyyy back there. Back in the 90s, I caught my personal best in early august during a heat wave. We were getting our final casts in before a large thunderstorm overtook the lake, I chucked a popper way under this deep overhang near a feeder creek and pulled out a bass that was practically half the size of 12-year-old me. The storm was so bad, we had to abandon the boat and walk back to our cottage through the pouring rain and deafening thunder. The entire time, I was biting my nails, hoping this bass was ok in the boat and luckily it was. After the squall, we got some pictures, let ‘er go and she swam right back to the same hole. Summer fishing can be great…it’s just about making adjustments, that’s all.
A lot of people say July is the hardest month of the year to catch fish in the dog days of the heat, but July has been my best month by far , they eat when it’s hot out!

Of course it varies from lake to lake, but when the waters very hot, how early will the bass usually find cover/shade for the day? 8am? 10am? Noon?
