    Man this video was great! I haven’t seen anyone do a side by side like this, making it difficult to make a decision. Your side by side made this a very easy decision! Thanks a ton! 2c it is!! Also, if you can get your hands on the solar panel from Eufy the battery life doesn’t even matter.

    Thank you Steve, another very useful video I think the 2CPro is the better option as you say having the spot light come on could be enough to scare someone off. I also like the fact that the spot light is built in and so not obviously there.
    Kind regards Paul (UK)

    Thanks for this! Really glad I chose up the 2C Pro a few minutes ago - the 2C had way better framerate and autofocus imo. I also agree that the spotlight is a huge plus vs the longer battery life 👌

      In Europe the 2 C does not have a "pro" in the name. It's just the 2C
      EDIT: never mind. I'm an idiot and just realized there is a 2C and a 2C pro :-)

  • @captmichel8035
    @captmichel8035 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    To answer the question below 2pro C is compatible you can add it to your system with no problem, of course would be nice to have 1 year on the spotlight has well, I didn't purchased the 2C because of the 6 months batt life but now that I see the comparaison I may consider to buy a few and locate them where light is needed the most , Thanks for the comparaison.
    Also Remember the nice thing about this eufy system, they have no fees and you can add 10 + cameras on the same system and the bases also connect wirelessly which permits you to expend larger foot prints for better reception between camera and base.

    Thanks Steve. Great comparison. I've got 2C Pro cameras and the claimed 180 day battery life seems fictitious. Ok, so I've done a few things that would reduce the battery life like increase sensitivity, video segment time and type of detection. We get about four to five events a day and I end up having to charge the busiest camera every 6 weeks or so. The others maybe every 4 months. But excellent comparison on your video and great how you flipped from one to the other thru your TH-cam video. Again, many thanks.

    • @martiangod
      @martiangod 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      4-5 events is on your busiest camera ? and thats what causes it to need charging every 6 weeks ?
      I was considering one of these for above my door pointing at a blind spot my eufy floodlight 2 pro cant detect very well but thats getting 100+ human motions per day, i guess this will need charging every day with that many activations

    Great job on the video. I did not see any differences in the morning shots but I thought the 2c Pro was a smidge clearer in the other scenarios.. To me a side by side may have shown any differences if it had been a split screen side by side. I would have liked to have seen how the 2 Pro would have faired with a motion light on since most people if they have these cameras probably have motion lights also. All in all thanks for putting the effort into these videos. They will help a lot of people choosing security cameras.

    got 2c pro because of the size, also have ring spotlight plug in fpr last 5 years, have to say image quality its 100 times better at nite time compare to ring, i don't even use spotlight on eufy as IR does savage job at nite time im blown away. I one day battery dropped 5% but im constantly playing with cameras also had 230 motion detections in one day because of delivery's and cleaning back garden. So far im impressed with them if they last at least 2 months im keeping them.

    The battery life means almost nothing now as they now have solar panels for 24/7 power. I'm a mobile patrol security guard and we have a temporary client that has one of the Eufycam 2C models (not sure if it's the 2C or the 2C Pro) and their that small I didn't even notice it at first, the only thing that gave it away was I saw the red LEDs for the IR camera. So I was looking at the Eufycam 2 Pro but I'm now considering the 2C Pros for my home.

    Great vid! Really comes down to color night-vision or longer battery life? Since the color night-vision requires a spotlight, you have to consider whether that's a plus or minus. Plus, it might scare off burglars and wildlife. Minus, it might annoy your neighbors or scare off wildlife you're trying to photograph. I have the 2C Pro. I can adjust the brightness of the spotlight or even turn it off. It's HomeKit-compatible and a great fit for me.
    I wish they had a solar-powered version that supported HomeKit and/or Matter. 😢

    Def would go for the 2 pro and not the C pro. If u need a light u can get a cheap small solar floodlight with sensor. The battery life difference is huge. Also when the camera is being used more than 5 minutes a day it lasts must longer. Thats the same for the 2 pro but with the 2c already having a smaller battery i would be recharging it every 3 months.

  • @kitturadior6935
    @kitturadior6935 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I chose the 2 Pro. I have a wired Eufy doorbell at the front door, and a battery doorbell at the back door. I prefer NOT having to charge batteries often. I find that my back doorbell must be charged every 45 days or so. What makes it tolerable is that the doorbell at the back does not need me to climb on a ladder to take it down to recharge it. Long battery life is preferable.

    I think the 2C pro for colour at night can help police what colour a vichele is or the colour of the criminals out fit to find them which to me makes a huge difference. The 180 day betterie life you can just buy an additional charging wire to connect all year round as I seen a guy who ordered such a USB wire that's very long.

      On the main app screen click the 3lines in top left corner and then select Family and Guests and add your daughter with her separate email address. Then you daughter has to download the app and create a separate Eufy account with her email to view your videos. When setting up someone else you decide which cameras and devices they can view and assign them either guest or admin permissions. Admin would give them full access to configure cams and guest is view only mode.

      In my opin the 2 Pro is the better cam. Features is has over the 2c models are; 1) has larger internal rechargeable lithium battery pack that can last up to a year or more, 2) has built in anti theft siren you can set while the 2c does not have this feature and 3) 2 and 2 pro have an upgraded Sony sensor for improved night vision. I find the 2c spotlight to be rather weak. They have come out with brighter spotlight cams you might want to check out, even one standalone model that connects directly to your home wifi and has a built in solar panel.

      Most eufy outdoor cams including the 2 pro and 2c pro will work with alexa, Google home or assistant and apples homekit. I have mine connected through googles Chromecast to a 55/65 inch tv but outside of the nest o cool factor I find it about worthless. Sure you can say something like ok Google show me front cam on tv type of thing but outside of that not much. I find it to be somewhat unreliable. It might take 3 seconds or 30sec to display a camera or not at all until you ask again or 2-3 times. You do not have full functionality.

The problem with placing them that high is; 1) you will get a nice shot of the top of people's heads so about worthless to try and identify someone and 2) the camera can only detect someone at max if 25-30ft away so it would not detect someone until they are real close. Highly recommend installing them at about 8ft high instead.

    good review,
    for eufy 2 pro, How far can you place the camera from the home base unit and still get footage?
    Like if your storage house (with no Internet connection) is about 80 to100 meters from where you live.
    ,would wifi Extention unit(or a router like Asus ZenWiFi AX) allows additional distance between camera and home base unit in this case?

    • @SteveDOES
      @SteveDOES  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      These cameras connect directly to the base so boosting your Wifi signal wouldn't help the connection. Ring cameras and Arlo Essential are wifi based cameras so that might be a better option for you.

      thanks, you've been helpful.
      I came across a review that might solve the distance issue,
      since the base unit only needs to be connected to a power supply and doesn't need to be connected via cable to router all the time(only when u set it up) but should be in a close enough range to the cameras, maybe that would work:
      home base near cameras and router can be as far as it can get a signal. would that work?

      @@cosmicprincesA1234 I have connected my home base wirelessly to my router for over 2 years now and in my opin is the preferred way to set it up. This allows you to move the home base to a central location between all your cams to try and get a good signal to all. In one test in a heavy wifi infested neighborhood I took my front cam down and walked across the street and down a few house and was able to get a live view signal at about 120ft max. Some people living out in the country have them working up to about 200ft from the home base. All depends on how walls or other obstructions the signal has to go through and the material walls are made of. Hope that helps.

  • @DelHollowProductions
    @DelHollowProductions 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have been looking in the market for some additional security cameras. What I find deficient in 99% of the video is the obvious lack of technical integrity.
    Eufy is very appealing in the base station approach. Subscription prices remain low although if one invests and a provider goes nuts, you are hostage.
    All-in-all, for security, all wireless cameras are inferior to CCTV with local storage. However, with so many existing homes and structures, that superiority diminishes.
    Now, the eufy base station itself is a good idea in many applications. It boggles my mind that they do not accept SD cards (to be sold extra). That is a revenue opportunity they miss out on).
    But China tends to be deceptive. I ran into this in trail cameras. The CMOS sensors coming out of mainland China are growing smaller in form factor and native resolution. China is doing amazing things in interpolation in up-scaling. Unfortunately, consumers fall prey to this. The output may be 1080 but that doesn't mean the image capture was - and it shows. Add to that the greatest fail of eufy is the frames per second. I have seen none they make with true HD. What I mean is 1080 native at 29/30 fps.
    A security camera does not need to have accurate colour reproduction, it does need light balance and NATIVE resolution. I would gladly sacrifice battery life knowing I could go solar for true resolution. And a larger CMOS image sensor would reduce optic bleed on chip and increase gain. The optic quality on most security cams is sufficient for their use.
    I'm not rejecting eufy, but I characterise them as something just above an eight dollar dummy camera from Harbour Freight. Or in crass terms, you never get more than you pay for. My impression is, you seriously waive quality for price and ease of use. Much like clubbing at the end of the evening.
    Still, better than nothing. The audio and video are atrocious. I personally am torn between price point and primary purpose.
