Indeed the solution to this is getting a wired NVR system, but please understand the instances of thieves using “jammers” is very rare. Possible, but rare. Most news sources that talk about these jammers are clickbait sources….blown out of proportion.
So I installed a mANTBox 15s outside to be able to have good wifi for my camera's.. These looked like a good option. But I guess not. I have a large area to cover. It is covered by the 15s. And now I am not able to connect them to it ?:(

Because when you’re in the Apple ecosystem, it allows you to get camera alerts on your HomePods and your Apple TVs. It also allows you to view all your cameras on your Apple TV. A lot of people, including myself, really like that. You can’t do any of that with the Eufy app.
@@GeorgeLangabeer Thanks for the reply, that is a pretty cool feature. I still have some NEST cams and I love how I can see them all at once in real-time from my computer browser. I rarely have the TV on during the day but I''m glued to my computer.
Eufy could bypass Apple's HomeKit 1080p limit and bring 4K to macOS and iPadOS with their own native app. They should NOT only offer their app on iOS. That would solve the problem for my situation.
But Aqara has never had an outdoor camera….until now. So a lot of it hinges on that camera for me. If they knock my socks off with that outdoor camera, then maybe I can switch to all Aqara. And wheels are already in motion for me to try that camera as soon as possible.
I’m really happy that Eufy made this move to get back in the Apple home game. But seriously, until Apple makes some improvements to HSV who cares about their native two way audio. I’m only using my cameras in Apple Home App for the HomePod alerts and Apple TV alerts. Otherwise, the Eufy app all the way.
I tried these steps: To add an Eufy S3 Pro and S380 (HomeBase) to Apple Home, open the Home app on your iPhone, tap the "+" button to add an accessory, then scan the QR code found on the HomeBase unit; you'll need to ensure your HomeBase is connected to your network and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup process for both the camera (S3 Pro) and the HomeBase (S380). Apple Home Kit still will not add the S380 / S3 Pro.
The privacy issues with Eufy happened 2 years ago. It wasn’t “hackers”, it was an issue where they realized their own employees could potentially view their customer’s cameras. They have since responded accordingly & solved that issue.
Seems to me if your cameras are mounted under a Soffit then these solar panels are useless??? Also isnt EUFY storing all the video data in China or is that fake news?
That’s why they give you the extra solar panel…in case you mount it under a soffit. No, they are not storing your data in China. They had some privacy issues, but that was 2 years ago, they’ve made the adjustments, responded accordingly & now privacy is on lockdown.
i have the s3 for a few years now, the battery life has been terrible, the detection range isn't ideal and misses people walking towards/away from the cameras. i just put them in my back/side yards with little traffic for notification purposes when i am away from home. if i point it toward a sidewalk/street, the battery will be completely drained within a few weeks. i LOVE the resolution and clarity of these camera and fast notifications with very low cooldown, i wouldn't have these as the only cameras though, i am still using 1st gen nest cams with NEST aware subscription for 24/7 coverage. when i have the time/money, i will wire in a POE system from unifi and consilidate most of these nest (4)/eufy cams (6)... I will try the EufyCam s3 PRO, heard it has better detection and range of detection. i have 3 s3 cameras just to cover my back porch...

Can these cameras wifi be blocked/disabled by wifi blockers that are being used by some thieves? If so, is there any way to prevent this from happening?
There’s no way this can be enabled/enforced within camera…the only solution is to use wired cameras.
Indeed the solution to this is getting a wired NVR system, but please understand the instances of thieves using “jammers” is very rare. Possible, but rare. Most news sources that talk about these jammers are clickbait sources….blown out of proportion.
Can't wait fir the 8k version to come out & to would love to have AI face recognition to unlock my door as I approach the door.
That would be a very cool feature.
Discount code not working at Eufy?!
Yeah, sorry about that. That was an introductory discount code.
So I installed a mANTBox 15s outside to be able to have good wifi for my camera's.. These looked like a good option. But I guess not. I have a large area to cover. It is covered by the 15s. And now I am not able to connect them to it ?:(
With these cameras, it’s more about how close is your homebase?
@@GeorgeLangabeer I have 6 cameras. Some is 30m away. There is my home wifi that is good. But this box cant handle this distance... So the q is, can I just connect it to the home WIFI?
Ok.. so the question, their other HKSV cameras were pathetic and had limited detection rage and cut off the clips early and detected late. Any serious improvements on that front?
That’s not a Eufy think, that’s a HKSV thing. No changes on that front, for any HKSV camera.
@@GeorgeLangabeer Thanks George! Like you, I applaud anything new on the HKSV end. I had to end up dumping all my HKSV cameras due to poor quality (1080p and poor selection choices). It’s a shame as everything else is tied into HK nicely around the house. While I know it’s not your favorite selection, I put up Unifi/Ubiquiti cams while I wait it out.
Glad to see you are in good health!
Can more than one person watch/see the video in Apple Home?
Yes
@@GeorgeLangabeer Thank you. Just a quick follow up. Can you use the Eufy server in parallel with Home Kit or is it an either or? If the latter, which is the better option?
Yes yes yes yes yes
👏🏻🙌🏻
Are these DIY friendly ?
Yes. That’s what they are made for.
i didnt get an external solar panel in my box
Are you sure you bought this exact kit? Are you sure you bought the new model & not the older model?
@@GeorgeLangabeer I just bought the S3 pro by itself. I guess they only include external solar panel if you buy the kit. I already have a homebase so didn't need the kit.
Yes, they only include the solar panel if you buy the kit.
Is this work if u go out of the country
Yes. You can see your cameras from anywhere in the world as long as you have a WiFi or cellular connection on your device.
Is this work for iPhone 15primax
Sorry 5G iPhone 15 pro max works for that
Yes
With the EUFY app working so well why is Apple Home-kit so important? Maybe if you have cams from multiple companies but I only have EUFY.
And don’t forget when you have an AppleWatch and you are not at home, you can see the livestream and see who is on the front door, for example 😊
Daylight setting has bad ghosting.
Only sucks about using Homekit with eufy is, all the camera drips down to 1080p ..if you wanna record or view in 2k or 4k. You have to delete Homekit
Yep, just as I said in the video. Apple needs to make some updates to HKSV.
Price 🤯
Eufy could bypass Apple's HomeKit 1080p limit and bring 4K to macOS and iPadOS with their own native app. They should NOT only offer their app on iOS. That would solve the problem for my situation.
I heard this Company has lack of security compromising its costumer’s recordings that anyone can accesss to it? Is that true?
There were some privacy concerns for a brief period, but that was two years ago. They have responded accordingly & fixed those issues some time ago.
@@GeorgeLangabeer perfect thank you!!!
You’re welcome.
Once they have an updated doorbell cam for HomeKit along with these cameras, I’m switching away from Aqara
Let’s hope that happens.
Why? The Aqara hardware is better
@@ScarthyUK have had a Eufy doorbell and currently have Aqara, much prefer Eufy hardware and software
But Aqara has never had an outdoor camera….until now. So a lot of it hinges on that camera for me. If they knock my socks off with that outdoor camera, then maybe I can switch to all Aqara. And wheels are already in motion for me to try that camera as soon as possible.
@@GeorgeLangabeer Very true. Current have Eve outdoor, Aqara doorbell and indoor.
No 2 way talk in home even though it’s full duplex in native app is a deal breaker
I have the s380, and there is no section for HomeKit or Apple home under general settings. Homebase is "up to date". ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Do you have this camera?
@@GeorgeLangabeer So how do you add the S3 Pro and the s380 to Apple home (yes I have both set up)??
Is your eufy app updated on the App Store or Google Play Store?
@@GeorgeLangabeer Yes, updated on the App Store. Using a Iphone 15 Pro Max
Great Vid, my main attraction to eufy would be Homekit, just chatted with Eufy and they said Homekit will be in a future firmware for Homebase 3
It’s already in the HomeBase 3, but it only works with this camera.
Eufy Customer support Sucks!!! Have to wait over 30 minutes to reach someone . Eufy needs to hire more support help!!
Don’t you think that Eufy cameras can be easily hacked? Especially with all the recent scandals that faced
A good Wired NVR POE system is always the way to go.
$549? Geesh
That’s $150 for the HomeBase & $200 per camera. All in line with the competition. Especially considering the specs.
They are nice but way to expensive
Once again apple falling behind with 1080 quality.
It needs to change & it needs to change now.
Never get an apple or google service for your home. NEVER!!
Tell us how you really feel…
4k takes too much space and signal
Depends on the situation. 4K does just fine for me.
Sounds like it is time to finally ditch Apple. I'm glad I left the cult when Jobs left.
