OK, I've been getting a lot of comments about Edge, Rabbid Mario and Rabbid Luigi's weapons not being guns. If I allowed those weapons just because they looked different, the run wouldn't be any different from a casual playthrough, and the video wouldn't be worth making.
Mabye you should change the title to
Can you beat mario and rabbids sparks of hope without using any weapons

@@DrRank since the game acknowledged that you defeated cursa's final form, this challenge is technically a success!!! Cursa just tried to use semantics and a BULLSHIT softlock (which I'm pretty sure is unintentionally in the game to begin with) to cheat you out of a victory. Essentially, cursa was a sore loser and threw a temper tantrum. Through the power of semantical reasoning, the mario+rabbids sparks of hope no shot run, is MISSION COMPLETE!!!!!!

I love how there is barely any Mega Bugs because Cursa is just a FRAGMENT of Megabug.

After spending 12 minutes thinking of a video concept I thought it would be cool if you did Mario + Rabbids nuzlocke.
Here’s how it would work:
1: if a character dies you can’t use it for the rest of the run.
2: each character is linked to a specific spark so if the character dies you can’t use the spark for the rest of the run.
3: you can’t use a character until you get the spark their linked to. (If you decide to do this you can pick whatever spark you want but I linked the characters to their spark in the promotional art for the game.
Mario - starburst
Rabbid peach - pyrogeddon
Rabbid Luigi - toxiquake
Luigi - aquanox
Rabbid Mario - glitter
Peach - reflector
Edge - vamp dash
Rabbid Rosalina - ethering
Bowser - exosphere
When you get the option for two sparks at once the first slot will stay the linked spark while the second slot can be any spark you want).
4) since you don’t get aquanox until after the first boss when the game forces a third party member just use edge with exosphere until you get aquanox then use Luigi, and if the game forces a character that is dead then it counts as a rule break.
5) items are banned
6) pulser spark is banned
If you think about doing a nuzlocke for this game you can use these rules. you can make your own rules if you feel like it but I these rules would work well.
If they make a third game, Ubisoft better give you it for free again. 4 hours on a single boss and FIRST TRYING IT is an incredible feat. Props to your determination
I feel like Ubisoft wanted to get payback for somehow cheesing most of the main bosses last time, so they specifically made it so you HAVE to use the weapons to win the final fight
Man I got to give you some respect for that video, I can’t imagine how long it would take to complete that game without shooting, and in demanding mode. Even though you couldn’t complete it, it was impressive you got that far, so good job
He cheated on bedrock bedrock had 7k hp but when he showed the explosive exploded in a normal play through bedrock had 13k. And he said he was on demanding mode
@@volcarona3604That footage was recorded on my casual save file (which is also on Demanding), using the Replay Battle feature. When fighting bosses with this feature, their health scales to your level.

like all games there's always that challenge that no one tries yet here we have an amazing youtuber willing to devote his time and give the content what a hero

Nah idc if you have to shoot stuff at the end. You KILLED the boss. I count that as a win.
This man literally killed bedrock explosive-less
PS Bedrock doesn't have infinite defense because characters don't have defense in this game to begin with. What actually happens is she has a -95% (roughly) damage modifier. But due to programmers not fixing an issue from the first game, damage modifiers stack *by addition.* So for example, +50% Starburst stacks like (-95% + 50% = -45%), which results in Starburst effectively being a *800% increase* on damage. That's generally how you're supposed to beat Bedrock without the barrels. (Dash sparks like Vampdash and friends or athlete passives also stack the same way) (yes, this happens in Kingdom Battle too, but for whatever reason it only applies to Weaken/M-Power/NME Empowerment; stuff like the shields and High Ground Bonus stack by multiplication. Not sure about the VS ticket stuff. Sparks of Hope it applies to basically everything: Turbocharge, Fortify, Reflector, Physical Resistance, Elemental Resistance, Bedrock's Defense, Riptides' Anger, Magikoopas' boost...)

I think considering the end has “DEFEAT CURSA - X 1/1 Defeated”, you did technically succeed, kinda, I guess

@@DrRank Alternatively, if you’re not satisfied, you *could* make an exception for Rabbid Mario for the “no shooting” rule. Yeah, a lot of people argued that for him, Edge, Luigi, etc. but really, I think Rabbid Mario is the only character to explicitly not use *anything* that would count as a projectile (it’d be really wack to see him literally throwing hands)
I like the rules to be consistent.
This was a nice watch. This game is really strange with how it quantifies how phase 3 Cursa is “defeated”, for all intents and purposes you deserved to have this run successful, especially with how comically long Bedrock took.
DLC1 looks like some side mode, while DLC 2 and 3 seem entirely applicable for a new challenge since 2 is a “new planet” and 3 is probably this game’s equivalent to DK Adventure.
I'll probably do each DLC as they're released, but combine them all into a single video.

I'm surprised you never decided to get the vamp dash spark from the secret key on the ice planet.
It wouldn't have been that useful, since it just enhances the existing attack instead of adding an extra one.
Sparks of hope but everyone forgot to rebuild the building where residents can acquire a license to use guns.

Here’s some challenge ideas I though of for this game
No Rabbid heroes (Thus, no controlling Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Rosalina, all of the Rabbid variety, and not even Edge is exempt; Probably only a challenge if you’ve abuse Rabbid Mario and Rabbid Rosalina’s power frequently like I did)
No Sparks (No primary abilities, or *neither* ability, your choice)
And for a real challenge, *neither* of them (A true “No Rabbids” challenge)
I typically limit myself to only one challenge per game outside of DLC. Feel free to try these yourself, though.

I usually limit myself to one challenge per game.
Besides, if I did a "Don't Take Damage Except I'm Allowed to Take Damage" run, I'd be permanently on the lam from the Semantic Police.
You can make Bedrock extremely easier for yourself if you just use the Starburst Spark
Your attacks with do 100 damage instead of 7
Which is way quicker to do especially if your using Rabbid Rosalina dash so you can just lock Bedrock in place
And by using Rabbid Luigi's upgraded Exhaust. I was later informed that it also lowers defence.
*Cough* *Cough* Dash Sparks does Exist *Cough* *Cough*
It's a question of what's more valuable: more attacks or stronger attacks. I personally chose the former.
if you didn’t know this, starburst supercharge makes your dashes and weapons pierce through most of Bedrocks defenses.

The first OFFICIAL wave of dlc for sparks of hope has recently released, and I'm here to attempt the same challenge with a more definitive challenge description to make sure it can't be subverted.
Can you beat the last spark hunter without using the main weapons. The rules for the run are simple, no actions that use the primary weapons can be used. This includes any reaction techniques and battle actions with zl. The run is complete when we defeat the final boss. With the rules set, let's get started

Because I didn't know it could do that at the time; I thought it just nerfed the enemy's Attack.

It's a bit of a shame you decided all zl items would be banned. I imagine you could have used edge, rabbid Luigi, and rabbid Mario for a more consistent game and as a means of defeating cursa.

I had actually tried this challenge before, and I got to Cursa but was too lazy to actually finish the fight because it took too long
Edit: I wish I knew that you could buy pow blocks before fighting the giant claw guy in the first world because I literally used the reflector spark the whole time while running away. That took so long that no more enemies were spawning 💀
This game is bad purely because there is only alliteration for the first 3 areas
