Thank you, appreciate the feedback!
Thanks for this video. I just did this job today on my 2010 Mazda 3 S. Mine has ABS, and the ABS sensor was attached with a odd little star shaped bolt, probably E-torx, but I'm not super familiar with those. I was able to easy remove it with a regular 5mm combination wrench. Also, on my car, the bearing hub assembly was held together with a regular socket bolt, so I didn't even need the big Torx bits you used. And yes, it's possible to remove the entire brake caliper/bracket if you want to save time and you're planning to re-use your same brakes. Just be prepared to use a beefy 14mm combo wrench, because on my model, a brake line runs right over the one bolt, prohibiting a standard socket wrench. Thanks again for the help!
Thank you as well for the great extra info!!!
Good note on the offset holes when mating it with the dust shield. Came across this vid to make sure I wasn't going crazy 🤣
Lol, no problem
Thank you very much for this video. Helped me so much
Glad to hear it! Thank you for the feedback!
Easy. Good video man. I need to do my rear-end now. I just did my front end, that was more complicated. I didn't remove the brake pads just remove the whole caliper and brackets lol:) and slide everything back on.
Great and thank you for sharing and the comment
Indeed more complicated lmao
Tyvm. Appreciate you brother.
Very welcome! You as well!
Thank you for the detailed video, going to do the job next weekend I think on an 09 mazda3. I'll let ya'll know if I hit any snags.
No problem! And good luck
great video thank you!
Thanks for the reply
If you have ABS brakes and get the wheel hub from AutoZone, it doesn't come with the ABS sensor. You have to take the sensor off the old hub and screw it onto the new one. It has a weird inverse torque head (E5 I think), but I got it with a 6 mm socket.
Most come with the abs sensors and if vehicle doesn’t have it, it can still be used. Didn’t know about AutoZone thanks for that extra information maybe can help others!
Thanks for the video bud
No problem
Sir i have a mazda 3 2008 2.0 i need to replace the rear axle bearing. after replacing it do i nid to do wheel alignment?. thanks!
No
Are the rear hub assemblies left and right oriented, or are they universal fit for left and right
Universal, the only thing you have to make sure of is if you have ABS or not.
is that a hub type bearing just new car owner.. thnks
Yes
Thank you for this video
You're welcome, thanks for the comment.
Great video, thx. How much foot pound do you torque the wheel bearing hub ?
48 ft lbs
Only comment would be you can just pull the entire caliper off with 2 bolts and then slide it out
True, but it’s a little bulkier that way, but yes.
I have a 2010 mazda 5 , should i order wheel bearings with ABS sensor or without ?
If your vehicle has ABS then you have to order one with it, if yours doesn't have ABS then either one is fine.
What is the brake dust bolt size? Don’t now anything about bolt sizes, getting my Wheel bearing and brake dust changed tomorrow….what bolt size should I buy?
What do you mean brake dust boot? The calliper bolts? If so there a torx T45
What’d you do to get the piston on the brake caliper to come back out? Just pump the brakes like normal and it unscrews itself?
Where can I find the torque specifications for mazda 5 2010, I cant find them anywhere? The ones I find are says 170 foot pound And my wrench is inch pound with a range max 960. If I convert 170 ft pound to inch pound its around 2000 inch pound ?
Also I want to know the torque on
T50 screws for wheel hub assembly
Brake bracket
Capilar pins
Lugnuts.
Where will I find them ?
Alldata diy online $20 a month or your local library online Free should have decent repair info as well. I'm not local now or I would send them.
I noticed the new hub has the abs port. Does it matter? I ask bc I just bought a hub yesterday and the non-abs was $20 more.
No, as long as your car doesn’t have abs
The 4 bolts T50 are stuck, any suggestions to get them off??
Heat, but be careful
Would this cause the car to shake when going 50-55 mph?
Not really, unless it was getting ready to fall off.
@Motorcarnut Ok, thank you!
@duranl24 no problem
What's the torque spec?
The rear hub assembly is 50 ft lbs
is this similar fora cx-5
Should be
@@motorcarnut I've got a question mlt sure if you can help or not, so my mazda cx5 i think is a wheel bearing but not entirely sure, it sounds more like a whistling on the passenger side more then a growling, could that still be a bearing
Yes
The fronts are not assemblies like this right? It's like a press bearing style
Correct
Can you show one with the 4wd mazda 5?
I don’t have one right now to show, it’s similar except for the axle nut that has to be removed.
7mm allen if any one asks 👍
Thanks for that info
