not me sitting here in Ottawa crying at what a city could be if multiple elected officials over decades hadnt squandered a functional transit system lmao 😭
Think about what ottawa could have done with the money that ontario wasted on the eglinton lrt 😭 (no i dont think eglinton lrt was a waste, but kitchener lrt was like 800 million dollars and eglinton lrt has been over 10x that even though their the exact same trains and a pretty similar distance)
@@andrewisvrycooltunnelling makes a big difference in price, same with Toronto-sized stations. There’s probably a lot of bloat but I don’t think that the ION comparison is really the best way of showing it.
I absolutely trust the Canadian system. Whatever we build, however long it takes, we will get the best ever on earth in human history.and its all worth it
All I can say is that these things take time. We don't want to rush the line into a premature opening like what happened in Ottawa 5 years ago. The name of the game over there was "get it done fast", not "get it done right, first". We all saw what happened as a result. On a happier note, there is still time to announce a late December opening date. So, Toronto commuters can unwrap a 2024 Christmas present. 😊
Except Crosslinx has proven over and over again that they can neither get things done fast nor right. It's been one fiasco after dumpster fire after disaster. Honestly, I don't think they even want to finish it. Why do that when they can keep lining their pockets and never face any consequences? Someone needs to be held accountable for this mess. Lose their job, prison, bankrupt company with fines, something.
The trains have been running along the tracks for months but people cannot ride them yet because they have to keep ripping up and replacing the little piece of sidewalk across the road no where near the tracks. Thirty or forty more times replacing that little piece of sidewalk they can move to the next little piece and in about 20yrs we might be able to ride the trains
Came here to say this. This is becoming more common on TH-cam and it's driving me crazy. The intonation is all wrong. It's treating parts of sentences as complete sentences, dropping intonation and pausing when the sentence is not finished. If this continues I won't be watching videos from this channel.
so again i ask.....is there ANYONE IN TORONTO that is annoyed with the now 5 year delay and multitude of excuses produced by the contractor, CEO, Board etc. I should remind folks the REM in Montreal which s a significantly bigger project that the Eglington Crosstown project with significantly more physical challenges and the spread of the project across the entire region of Montreal.....it has taken now 6 years and a first session already open and running for the past year.....maybe a lesson learned for this Toronto contractor? As for the citizens aren't you all completely pissed off yet?????
Oh were very pissed off. It's totally corrupted and the of Metrolinx keeps giving us BS answers, thinking we're all stupid while his pay has been going up ever since. Also the Ontario line will be more aligned with the REM in Montreal. Except ours will be going through our downtown and end in the Westside of the city.
Heads heads should roll over the boondoggled opening date of this. Five years late! And still no end date for completion. I suppose at that point top CEOs will pick up their bonuses and pat each other on the back. An absolute flipping disgrace for the city.
I'm currently accepting bets on the opening date for the Crosstown by decade--2030s, 2040s, etc.
Feb. 30! 🙂
July 1st, 2025!!
🤣
@@James_Knottoh yes February in 2030. Totally agree.
2040

Awful lazy text to voice bot dude.
Which will come first? The Eglinton Crosstown or the Harp Pub?
LINE 5 BEFORE GTA 6

A positive attitude and take for a change. I agree with what you said here. Thanks!

The problem we run into is that the government will never make any laws that hold them accountable.

It's not just Ford. He is just the one that keeps getting caught.

What's wrong with the voiceover? It sounded like it was skipping words or even entire sentences.
I think it was an AI voiceover. It sounded too computerized to be an actual person.

Probably also some stress-level tests should be done on the people living and running businesses along the route.
