    The majority of my productions have little or no budget. However the feature we are writing up we are hoping to get investors for. Our standard here in Australia is 10 hours with a 45 minute break

    Hi, Amber!!! Thanks for all the amazing content on the film industry!! :) It's amazing! I just stumbled across one o your videos the other day, subscribed, and now slowly watching your previous and current videos! :)
    I'm on a "gap year" right now, but i was attending the ASU film program. Did three semesters, worked on a handful of short films during that time, two of which I was a producer on, one I wrote [which I hope to re-write and produce again with a more knowledgeable crew/cast to make it even better]. But during those academic short projects, it was so fun learning the roles and how to do organizational staffing and see everyone do their thing that they are interested in. I have to agree with you, SAFETY is the utmost priority on set! I definitely took precautions to inform everyone prior to shooting all the safety guidelines and required them to sign an acknowledgement form, and we also had a SAFETY DEPUTY on set to ensure rules were being followed for everyone's safety. The CRAFTY point you made is also super important! I had one crew member who was vegan, so I did have to find vegan alternatives for the lunch, and it was amazing to see everyone so satisfied with how things went :)
    Can't wait to watch more of your content!! :)

    Regarding drinking and drugs, some of us also are clean and sober. Drinking and using drugs ruined some of our lives and we are trying very hard to stay the straight and narrow without having it constantly around us, or offered to us every half hour. I like a work place to be professional: as a work place should be.

    100 totally right about safety..the crew has no choice on were they work so keeping them safe is 1st priority ( I've seen many injuries. Including deaths on set . With all safeguards in place it still can be risky..)but I disagree on working for free .. you should never ask someone to work for nothing.

    Healthy food should be the standard and perhaps getting a nutritionist involved.

    Anybody who has drugs and alcohol on set should not be allowed on set. People have been fired from jobs for that reason alone.

      you are def right - but working on some indies is like working int the wild west! its def a battle i had to fight and i thought it was ridiculous that i actually had to tell them no thats not how this works folks.

      @@BeyondFilmSchool Any news as to if and or when this strike will be finished?

    • @BeyondFilmSchool
      @BeyondFilmSchool  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a who knows scenario - Some are saying august 😭
      Some are saying September! There's no telling bc the WGA and AMPTP haven't talked since the DGA started their talks. Which ended last night. Next up is SAG so it's very unknown right now

      @@BeyondFilmSchool Incidentally, I am rather impressed with your TH-cam content. If I ever get anywhere with a story that I am working on, I certainly would be mindful of what you have to say. I would even go so far as to suggest to any production company that can be talked into making it to have you be part of this fun filled project, if you were to be available, of course. I know that I am getting ahead of myself saying that, but to quote Gibbs' rule #5 Don't waist good.

    What is the creative producer role in Films?

    • @BeyondFilmSchool
      @BeyondFilmSchool  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This question comes up a lot. Most producers unless they're line producers are dealing with creative elements. Like what director they want. Where they want the story to go. Who to cast. They decide all kinds of things. Also in TV a creative producer is a show runner. They're working closely with the writers.

    I just had a brilliant idea! Put an overworked underpaid film crew in an air BNB for an extended period of time and see who cracks first! Now THAT is reality TV!
