The Big Short Is Happening Again

  • In the middle of 2021, Michael Burry made a bet that the US bond market would go down, and over the following year it fell over 30%.
At the time, this trade didn’t really get much media attention because ultimately we don’t actually know how much money he made on it, if anything at all.
But the details don’t really matter, because he was right, the bond market did fall… alot
So it caught my attention when I saw this morning that Burry had made a bet against the US Stock Market
What confused me is that no one reporting on it seems to actually understand why he made this bet
When in fact it’s actually kind of obvious if you know which place to look.
So let me paint a picture of how the man famous for predicting the housing collapse, is now betting on the collapse of the entire stock market
And the May 18th report by S&P Global which shows us why he might be right.

In the middle of 2024, I think we'll start to see more market diversification. I'm hoping to invest about $300,000 from a recent home sale into the financial markets, but I'm still not sure how rates will effect the market just yet, which worries me a lot. Like how long will the bull rally last before the reset?.

You see in the stock market, bigger risk begets bigger results that can work in the bulls' favor. I think investors who are wary of the changing market trends should seek out bear/bull mrkt directions from certified strategists.

Also, media didn't report the other side of the Burry coin, he is an asset manager and he specializes in risk reduction while maximizing profit, contrary to the public opinion that he only works to maximize profits. I am 100% sure that in case if his bet was to go south, the other part of his portfolio would have a high probablity of going up and hence offsetting his losses from this bet.

The way I see this recession most likely has an external cause. The United States is losing influence as a federal currency for the first time in decades. They don’t have any economies to utilize or control their inflation, and less money is being spent on stock and oil trading than previously. They all lend credence to the hypothesis that a new multilateral world order may be in the works.

Okay, options are usually used as hedges. That he purchased a put contract doesn’t mean that he’s betting the market will go down, he can also be hedging his bullish position on the market in case it does go down.
If he’s sure the market will go down, he will short SPY, and QQQ just like he did on the housing market. That he bought an option says he’s not sure and is only protecting his assets in case the market does go down.

The bet was placed earlier this year. The market has already dropped significantly since he made the bet. He could be out of that by now. We won’t know until the next filing for the funds he manages.

I began investing at the age of 33, primarily utilizing my hard work and dedication. Now at the age of 38, I am delighted to share that my passive income exceeded $100k for the first time in a single month. This advice is truly valuable, so don't hesitate to take action. Remember, it's not about achieving wealth quickly, but rather about building wealth consistently and persistently.

I understand the uncertainty of tomorrow, and I agree that starting to invest today can be challenging, especially without a clear understanding of where and how to invest. Since I've personally tried navigated the path to passive income, I'd be delighted if you can offer me some guidance based on your experiences that help you embarking on your own journey towards financial security.

I never expected it, but after closely monitoring my portfolio's performance, I was astounded to see it generate a staggering $473k in just the past two quarters. This eye-opening experience has given me insight into why experienced traders can achieve remarkable returns even in lesser-known markets. Taking this leap was undoubtedly the boldest decision I have made recently.

I'm working with a consultant named *'Nolan Velden Brent,'* whom I discovered through a CNBC interview where he was featured. After reaching out to him, he has been providing valuable entry and exit points for the securities I focus on. If you're interested in his supervision and expertise, you can look him up online using his name. Following his trade pattern has been a rewarding experience, and I have no regrets about doing so.

What if by knowing his bet would be public he was hoping everyone would start liquidating their stocks and crashing the market actually bringing his "prediction" to fruition. I mean that's essentially how a lot of these well known investors make so much money right? Sure they needed to do it authentically in the beginning but once they have enough recognition their investment records and "advice" manipulate the market to their favor

Putting well-earned money into the stock market can be over emphasized for first-time investors, unlike a bank where interest is sure thing! Well, basically times are uncertain, the market is out of control, and banks are gradually failing. I am working on a ballpark estimate of $5M for retirement, and I have a good 6-figure loaded up for this, could there be any opportunity for a boomer like me? I'm nearly 60

Aden, It's a good idea to seek advice at the moment, unless you're an expert yourself. As someone who runs a service business and sells products on eBay, I can tell you that the economy is struggling and many people are struggling financially.

He was right once. That was luck. Now he says the market is going to fall, all the time. First of all, his reporting requirement was in the past. For all we know, he could have bought back all the stock and changed his course. By the way, he buys puts, betting the market would crash. Now, if everyone goes out to sell their stocks, Michael Burry actually makes money. So it’s to his benefits that everyone panics and everyone sells. No wonder, he says: The Market Is Going to Crash.

LMAO, tell me you cant do fundamental analysis even less understand it, without saying it. LUCK? Do you think you can manage MULTIMILLION possibly billion dollar funds by LUCK? Or you think RETAIL can CRASH a market by panic selling?
My God, you either don't hold stocks and talk all this shit behind a damn screen.
And on a serious note, DELUSIONAL people like you who end up losing massive amounts of money are the first to BLAME the government and rush to commit suicide because you couldn't handle the TRUTH, you've been ignoring all this time.
If you actually hold stocks, GOOOOOOOOOD LUCK!!!!
