I got my case and psu yesterday and motherboard cpu ram on xmas when i plug cpu power 4pin and 24 pin and chassis wires although im not sure if those are plugged on the correct rotation. But i cant get any power my psu wont even start or even spin for 1sec
I have the same board, i7-4790k, rx580 gpu, asus 3602 bios, and power and blue light on gpu, but device manager, and amd driver says hardware incompatible, graphics driver is microsoft basic display adapter, what do i need to download to make the board pick this up?
thanks for the video, i bought a newegg shellshocker deal with the i5-4490 (same board,cpu,and 1x8gb ram) for $274. im upgrading from a q9650. my old system only supports 8gb of ram and i have 12gbs of ddr3 1600 laying around. Did you have a problem using all 4 dimm slots? i hope i can use all 18gbs of ram if not oh well, its still a nice upgrade and i could not pass up the shell shocker deal. i wont upgrade for another 6 years

I'd personally get a newer cpu if you can as that one is getting a bit older, but for those parts I'd just get a cheaper used b85 board from eBay. Those boards aren't being made new anymore

what are the idle temps with that stock cooler? My friend has an I7 not sure of the model but from the past year or so and it runs idling at about 65C and that is rubbish because he games on that rig and I don't know the temp while gaming but it has got to be high probably in the 90s so I think he's going to cook that thing in no time. I just wish Intel (and amd) would provide adequate stock cooling solutions for people who don't overclock. That is what the stock cooler is for after all so it should keep the CPU cool enough to not cook itself at stock speeds.

Tito MG This motherboardwill run those components, but if want a quad core with hyper threading get a xeon e3 1231 v3. Its much cheaper and has the same performance.

What do you mean by support ray tracing? The chipset doesn’t affect ray tracing ability to be used. I have used software ray tracing on this system and older ones without issues. Hardware accelerated ray tracing like the rtx cards should also work in here
What Temperature do u have when idle and gaming? I have some issuses with this core, Motherboard after first start said that the tempature was 90° at core and mobo was around 27°
There's usually a thin square of "thermal paste" (if you can call it that) on those intel CPU fans he put in at 3:48. It's not great but it works especially if you're not overclocking.

When I put these two parts on PC part picker It says this Some Intel B85 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Haswell Refresh CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions what does this mean is it something I should be worried about please Answer
You need a newer bios to use this board with the later Hassell refresh chips. My board came with this update and most newer ones should aswell. If it doesn't have the update you will need a older cpu to update the bios

These days id probably get a i5 6400 and a 1070 as there the newer versions of the other parts. If you aren't overclocking, and motherboard will work and an inexpensive b150/h110 will be fine.
I am using what ever it came with out of the box. Normally the board will come with the newest bios out of the factory so if you bought it at the same time as a haswell refresh cpu it should be fine.
They won't affect performance at all. If you want a more through feature chart look here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGA_1150 Here is the overview. -Z87 is the only chipset that supports overclocking(on supported chips), sli and crossfire. It also has support for 4 dimms and 6 sata3 ports -B85 has support for 4 dimms and 4 sata3 ports -H81 only supports 2 dimms and 2 sata3 ports.
What buttons? The power button on the case, if so, its probably wire wrong. Assuming all wiring is correct, it is likey the motherboard is bad, but id check the wiring again, and other parts like the psu if you can.
I returned the 8320 as my mobo broke because of overheating on the power for the cpu. The i5 is much cooler, better at single threaded apps. The 8320 can be oced, and is a good amount faster with multi-threaded apps. Fore the price the 8320 is better if you are editing or streaming on a budget, but if you have the money go for a i5 or even a xeon like the e3 1231v3.

Ibrahim Aurakzai The cpu doesn't overheat even with the stock cpu cooler and is fairly quiet so im not getting a new cooler any time soon.

If you down clock the CPU by 100-200 MHz, you will see some performance gains, possibly less heat, and less power consumption.

FubarMike the idle temps are areoun 30C and load around 80C. When gaming the temps are around 50C. I feel these temps are fine for non overclockers.

uhm I dont think so since i7 k editions are LGA 1155. and the regular i5 and i7s are lga 1150. check ur motherboard first to see which is compatible

Sp!n 4 da win No, It only supports intel lga 1150 processors. You would need a fm2 motherboard to use that cpu.

Gigabyte B85 sucks as it have only 2 Ram Dim slot and too close to cpu which make the ram to overheat from cpu cooler...

It's a b85 board so there is no cpu overclocking. A z board is needed for overclocking on intel.
