    But it would be so good for the understanding if you could hold the one currency e.g thai bath.

      Thank you jadson ,when we bought the land it was clear.We had a blank canvas to start with so we could imagine our farm and design it,our current home is a barndominium that I had designed ,we hired the local builder and worked with them.later we build another home next to this and turn the barn into a Air BnB

    Does durian grow in Mukdahan and Pakchong Kaoyai area?

      I'm in Kanchanaburi up by hell fire pass in the hills . It can grow in that area ,make sure to test your pH in the soil and your water supply should be 5.5 to 6.5 if out side of this range I would not plant.Also make sure it does not flood in the land no holding water durian die from this

    Great info thanks for sharing, Terry. Adding everything up looking at roughly 160k-170k USD to get started for you size property? What about annual maintenance cost what would you estimate that to be? Such labor and misc expenses to keep the farm healthy.

    • @TMDurianfarmer
      @TMDurianfarmer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Your first year expenses after getting everything set up will be around 210000 B including electric,labor,fertilizer,gas,tractor costs ,small repairs,tool replacement.as the trees get older they will require more water ,fertilizer so those cost will rise as needed

    ...the biggest worries should be farmhand. Imagine the workers needed to collect (malaysian varieties-fruit are drop) or harvest from tree (Thai varieties).

    Hi Terry, is the successful growing of Durian trees in Thailand regionally dependant?
    I have land just 10 miles north east of korat wondering if that region you could grow.
    Thanks for the content by the way.

    • @TMDurianfarmer
      @TMDurianfarmer  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In some regions durian does grow better than others but that does not mean you can't grow it.there are durian farms around your area .What really matters is your land durian like a soil that is Sandy loam and with a pH range of 5.5 to 6.5 .Durian does not like to sit in water but rather have water flush its roots. So if you're on flat ground you will need to make mounds,so when you water or rains the durian roots don't sit in water . Also check your water source the pH is also important should be around 6

    • @alanwim1
      @alanwim1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TMDurianfarmer Thanks for the info, would probobly have to bring in truck loads of soil ( sandy loam with appropriate ph ).Ok to do for a few trees for an experiment but may be not for an orchard. Thank again .

    Is durian hard to grow and maintain?
    Could you grow durian anywhere in thailand, including issan, as you mentioned, sandy soil is needed?
    I would love to give this a go next year in issan.
    Also, how long do durian trees live for.
    Cheers, si

    • @TMDurianfarmer
      @TMDurianfarmer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Growing durian takes more work than growing other fruit trees but once you understand what is needed it really is not to bad.
      There are good places to grow around Thailand and other places that are not as good but can still grow depending on your soil conditions and your water.your soil and water pH is really the key.I know there are successful durian farms in your area .If you already have the land test the soil pH and your water source. Ideal is 6

Depending on what you have in mind and where you are thinking of buying land to start your durian farm really determines the total cost .
