    The watch is squealing like a pig before slaughter. It has talked to the other watches in the collection. It knows what a review means. “Don’t put me in the trunk!”

      Haha sounds like it would make a great Netflix series :P

    Lovely watch and 💯selection on the straps. Very good pairings.

    As someone who has owned this watch, the 44gs case really is a special, I've had a love hate relationship with the case. It will scratch up easily, and that's something i learnt to deal with. The finishing is still the same and the effects of the zaratsu still remain, so that's all that matters to me. Really is my favorite case design from Grand Seiko, and it is their signature case.

      Well said, Sammy! Definitely my fav. case style from GS as well!

    Your content is the crème of the crop. I’m not trying to be a kiss a$$ either. you have a way of making the timepieces the stars of the show. So many “influencers” try to be the stars themselves or be the reasons why we tune in. I tip my hat to you Sanjay.

      I don't deserve such high praise, my friend. You are too kind ❤️

    Great overview Sanjay 👍. Were you able to squeeze a 20mm blue Delugs strap between the lugs? It looks great!

    • @engineer_wannabe
      @engineer_wannabe  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much, Toran! Yeah, that particular strap is probably around 19.5mm rather than a 20. It seems to fit in well on most 19mm watches without pinching

  • @tony890
    @tony890 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great watch and video. What dark blue strap did you have it on?

  • @Koishishibaman
    @Koishishibaman ปีที่แล้ว

    Great review! Thanks. It is always nice to see an owners review than the same old specs, neg and pos review.
    It is a very cool watch. Mine is still on the bracelet. Haven't looked for a strap yet. The dreaded Seiko 19 mm size. Hard to find that size. I have a nice Seiko diver that I have bought a bunch of straps for. Even distressed a leather strap for the vintage look. It keeps going back on the blue rubber strap in came on. Looks the best.
    Like how the leather or other straps change the look from sporty to dressy? I may try this some day. My problem is I work outdoors on a farm. Dressy looks and leather don't fit all that well.
    The watch is a special one. A display back on a quartz? Beautiful! The case and dial are stunning. Same dial as the sbga413, only light blue. Not really expensive for a GS. Think down the road it may be a classic.
    Thanks again for the review.

    Jump hour movements are most useful for travellers, but me who rarely leaves my local time zone find it inconvenient that they sacrificed the quick set date for it. Specially on March 1 every year. 😄

    Great review and GS is great watches. I would not have this dress watch on red canvas (just my 2 cents). Steele bracelet or black alligator looks better.

    Hello from Western Australia, Sanjay! Thanks for the review, much appreciated. Can you let me know how this wears compared to BB58, BB54, or Omega FOIS cases which are sub 40mm? 37-39mm is a sweet spot for me but trying to judge this with its 46mm lug-to-lug is a little tricky. Thanks and keep up the great content!

    Hey Sanjay. Great collection. Does the sec hand hit the indices on the mark? My GS quartz antimag did not. I'm still itching for a GS quartz, but not thrilled w the offset sec hand issue...I don't know if this is common.
    BTW, why "wannabe" engineer? Are you an engineer?

    One of my favorite Grand Seiko dials, along with the black birch and skyflake!
    Off-topic but what's that Nintendo Switch game on the second shelf at the end?

    Nice video on a 44GS watch with straps! Don't you think the lugs are a bit to bulky for leather straps? I love leather straps but are a little bit worried to buy a 44GS case to go with a leather strap.

    • @chia-mingyang5804
      @chia-mingyang5804 ปีที่แล้ว

      It definitely looks better with thicker straps. For me 40mm 44GS does look bulky on my 16.5mm wrist even with a bracelet; 36.5mm one wears much better.

    • @engineer_wannabe
      @engineer_wannabe  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you very much! I personally like the look. Probably because I've seen a lot of vintage King and Grand Seikos having leather straps on wide, polished lugs. Maybe it's an acquired taste?
