I have been so discouraged because I haven't been able to get my photos to transfer to my gel plate and suspect it is because the image is not dark enough but nothing I tried could get it to give me a high contrast on my laser printer. Thank you so much for the thorough tutorial on how to edit your photos. I have been searching and waiting for this kind of video. I can't wait to play with my gel plate to see how it turns out! Wish me luck.
I now have to buy a laser printer. lol. Actually, I will make copies and go make copies of those on a laserjet printer. Thanks for all the information, Laurie. I have PS Elements so I should be able to do all of the photo editings without any problems.
Is the yellow background acrylic paint? What is your receiving paper (that the final print is on)? Transferring laser prints has defeated me so far. Usually I get a solid black block.
I'm curious- EVERYONE else I've watched insists that you must use colour laser prints for transfer even if they are in black and white. How have you had success with the mono laser prints? is it b/c you're using threshold to knock out the highs completely so there page in that section is absent of ink? I'd love to save a little cash by buying the mono laser over colour laser printer. Thanks!
hello, it's not a volkswagen on the picture ... it's a Citroën 2CV ... hello from France!
Nicely done Laurie, I was with P (this is M) on really wanting to see your balcony print process. Really thorough overall.
What happened to the printing process!? I just jumped ahead to the finished print!
Same thing happened to me - incomplete tutorial - what a shame....

That's great. So glad it helped. The technical piece isn't so fun and exciting, but it's necessary to get good prints.
At 15:20 or so you roll the black paint and then suddenly the video doed not continue the process, but shows the results. Is that an error?

Great!!!! Elements should work! Cant wait to see what you create, Diane!
@@LaurieTrumpet I first have to get them on laser prints.

If the original photo is in color, do you recommend making it grayscale (in photoshop) before making the layer a threshold one?

Is that a dollar store glass cutting board?
Yes. It is!
