Thank you. What is the benefit of an inkjet transfer of a graphite drawing over a direct transfer of the original graphite? Graphite transfers really well on its own. How does the inkjet look compared to a direct graphite transfer?
Both techniques work. Here I've chosen to do it with an inkjet copy, so my initial graphite drawing stays untouched. That way, I can use it over and over again on the Gelli Plate in different ways. ;-)
You won't regret buying a gelli plate. But start with the first one of my 12 video series "gelli plate for dummies". It's very important to know the basics. But most of all: have fun!
Your image turned out beautifully. You make it look so easy and other people say it can't be done. Obviously it can. I can't wait to try this out. Thank you so much for sharing this process. I have subscribed so I can find you again. 😀❤
It was a great presentation. Clear and very precise thank so much. I am not sure which type of paper you used. In a lot of demo it is not mentioned and I don’t know what to do about that!!! Please give me some info❤
Very nice. But i am having a problem with the image staining my plate. The ink from the image is not completely transferring to the paper? And It is very hard getting ths image off the plate?
@@lieveericx5137 This printer uses a mixture of inks, Pigment for the black, dye based for the colours. My Epson uses Pigment inks, so I am hoping that if the image is b/w it will work. We will see.
Have tried this 3 times exactly as you did and no results....nothing transfers to the plate at all.....i'm guessing it's the paper?? I'm using regular 20lb. HP Copy Paper.....any suggestions? thanks!
The most important thing is to have a very high contrasted image, and to be quick to put the print from the printer onto the plate. I'm using just cheap regular copy paper 80gr. Maybe you can try to run the paper through the printer twice? Putting on a havy book for a while? I hope you can solve the problem.
@@lieveericx5137 Hey, I also wasn't successful with this method, even printed it 3 times and nothing at all got onto the jelly, using Epsom eco tank, maybe the ink is different?
If you don't want color in the background, you can prepare the surface with a clear acrylic. Make certain the clear acrylic is wet. Place your picture on the plate, smooth, then remove after 2 to 3 min. Use a dry sponge to lightly remove any remaining paper bits. Finish with a clear acrylic spray. Hope this helps.
For your information: this method does NOT work with all inkjet printers! Canon Pixma uses TWO inks. Dye and pigment! It doesn’t work with for example an Epson printer!
Works for me *750ml glycerine *1cup cold water *230 grams powdered gelatin *3 cups rapidly boiling water *baking tray 11"x17" approx 10cm deep * No alcohol ***** Cold water half glycerine mix, gelatin mix, boiling water mix till powder absorbed add rest of glycerine.
Thank you for explaining the time you’re leaving the paint to work. A lot of tutorials skip that most important part!
You're welcome

Beautiful Lieve! Thank you so much for this video!
You're welcome.
My canon pixma inkjet printer- ink does not clean off my plate! It seems to be fixed on the plate - any suggestions on how to clean it off?
Yes, mineral oil will do the trick.
Grazie per il video, molto istruttivo. Tuttavia, desidero sapere che liquido hai passato col batuffolo di cotone, sulla piastra, all'inizio del video
It's mineral oil
very useful .Have you tried transferring coloured inkjet print?
Yes, that didn't work.
thank you, Lieve i will try this .
Thank you!
Very nice. But i am having a problem with the image staining my plate. The ink from the image is not completely transferring to the paper? And It is very hard getting ths image off the plate?
To get a better transfer, you can try leaving the paper on longer, and you can use mineral oil to clean the plate.
I use mineral oil to clean the plate. It's working very well.
WoW that is good one
What kind of printer are you using.an ink or dye based ink one?
A cheap ' canon pixma' inkjet printer.

@@scrapbagstudiosThat’s what I have….did it work?
Was your paper slightly slick? Thank you Be Lieve for your beautiful content!
It's regular copy paper 80gr.
Thank you I had heard glossy, but will try this too!@@lieveericx5137

@@edzoedzo369Yeah, I’m wondering if having pigment or dye based ink makes a difference.I’m going to ask what printer she’s using.

I think it's also important to use the ink that's made for the printer? Here I used a canon prisma printer.@chriscarroll277
What are you using to clean it in the beginning?
As explained in the video, I use mineral oil.
That turned out very clear. Are you using copy paper or something special?
Regular copy paper 8ogr

That's interesting. I didn't know that. Luckily the Canon Pixma is very commun.
