Thanks Spanj, whenever I have a question regarding this game invariably I find myself on your channel getting the answer. Been enjoying your lets play's as well, so again, thanks. (Bought this game as something to do while waiting for the next great game and it turns out it is the next great game).
the only thing I hate about Alpha 9 so far is the fact that it killed all server gameplay overnight. Cannot wait till they introduce logic circuits into the logistics menu. So you could then theoretically implement automatic crafting and sorting, and automatic rearming, resupply of craft.
Yes, the idea of having a manufacturing chain set up that would allow you to input resources and have the system be programmed to spit out whatever end items you desire could allow for auto resupply of fuel, ammo, O2, etc...
I love the idea of that ...a bit like Minecraft and Space Engineers. Eleon should be careful though ...making EGS more like the other games will erode many of its fans and players. If its too much like MC and SE it will have to compete for the same fans/players. I am not sure if that is a smart thing in the long run ...
Here's my question... and it's a very easy one to overlook for a long time player or developer. Is what they currently have, fun from the perspective of a person that has never seen the game. Why, or how, would they know where to look for specific resources. How or why would they know what to build to deal with restricted carry limit and space. Are we giving them some solid information that they'll need a hover-vessel almost immediately? In the end, I think they might want to have a look at revamping the tutorial start yet again to reflect the current changes.
Spanj you made me buy the game, and totally love it worth every penny early access or not!!!!! Following your series, and working to get the nightshade. I love NMS but this game for me brings new challenges to the table wich makes it a fresh new experience. Hadn't experienced this excitement when I started to play Adventure and space invaders ;)
I too, like NMS, but Empyrion has it all over it in a lot of ways including storage. NMS's storage is a cool idea tho, in you can access it anywhere. Weird concept tho. :)
Bought this 3 years ago when Tango Tek played it. Can't see how they think they can attract more people to the game like this. Do they think people will say. "Wow it's much more of a grind...I'LL BUY IT!!"
How are we supposed to collect really large items of loot from alien containers..our hv's are going to have to be huge....also what is the role of ordinary containers now?
I have a question yes you have 30 000 liters of storage great but I am raiding pois getting alot of small odd items that take up alot of slots but not really any weight... will the slots increase with the liter capacity or do I just waste 30 000 liters of storage to armour perks plants and components filling up slots?
With a connected container, you can loot directly into that container, i doubt things like armor boosts, meds, food will take up much room but the red and yellow containers containg a large CV thruster might be an issue. Will do some POI raids and come back with another video soon ;)
Good question, i notice that it looks like there could be scroll bar on the right side? May be worth a trip to creative to make and fill a warehouse to find out this answer :)
Looks like Shipyards are going to be a necessity now. So what happens if your storage is full and some of the extensions get destroyed. Does random stuff just disappear?
What the point to worry about freaking volume as it is not used? So these blocks are the same space for cargo as any regular container and they only will be useful when volume enabled.
I agree that logistics has room for improvement but that is what our testing and reporting is for. What i have liked so far is i have set up a few chain constructors were the output from my ore is the input to my main constructor, can do this with lots of combo's. I like the fact when i get organized i can just drop off items in my marked containers an it will feed to constructors ;) have not tested yet if i could have constructor output to say biofuel to fuel tanks...that would be great if it could be set up like that.
Hey is anyone else having and issues with this I am having some sort of memory leak in the save I am currently on the only thing I can think that I did differently is used a large planet
I came to check out the new update a bit and im left wondering... HOW THE HECK DO YOU CONTROL THE DRONE SO EASILY. I try to fly that thing and im spinning around constantly and crashing into the ground so unless they finally fixed it in this update i don't know how you are driving it so well and actually able to build with it without alot of struggling.
i dont like building with the drone, it drifts too much after you release the control its annoying and has resulted in many many misplaced blocks but i never found it that hard to control tbh, but i fly around in godmode a lot too so it's no different to that really.
I finally have the resources to build this! (Though probably not to arm it). I use a Merc MX9R fighter and an Anubis AT tank - I am hoping my tank will fit in the bay (and occasionally my fighter if I need to repair it). I guess I have to go mining for erestrum and zascosium now... and more magnesium, so I can build guns and ammo for this beast.
Have they said anything about automation of part making or at least entanglement logistics/comms to interact with factories? I mean it prob be impossible to do satisfactory level but being able to: "I need 200 x added to y storage so f constructor can make 200 advanced parts for a huge build." I guess it's pretty much expanding on factory BPs in a way.

How did the Base behave WITHOUT Ammo?:-) I am so far good with the new logistic System. I enjoy digging with my own extended Backpack. Still much to learn.
I want to like the changes, and I do like some aspects. However it all just seems like a convoluted mess. "You don't use your inventory, you use your VIRTUAL inventory".....wha!? Why? I just feel like they would have been better off forgetting about volume and weight completely, and instead kept the containers the way they were before, but expand on the logistics thing they are doing.
For instance, have auto miners and water generators output to a land base on the same planet. Allow land bases to output items to space stations within orbit of that planet. Then allow space stations to output items to each other across long distance warp routes.
@@Bedevere I feel like it would be ignored. It's a shame, because I love the idea of planets still providing me something after leaving them behind. The idea of building up that infrastructure for a semi permanent supply chain sounds awesome

I think you just build some storage into your vehicle and as long as that is connected (parked outside so in range of wifi) you loot directly into your vehicle storage, so its even better than A8, no multitple trips in and out.
Don't bother looting until the core is popped, you can then just sit in your vehicle beside it and wifi almost all the loot including alien containers. It took me about 15 seconds to loot the abandoned factory. All the uncored wrecks are wifi lootable including the Titan parts. The cores have been removed already for some reason. Just drive up to them until the signal shows up and sit in your cockpit and loot them. I have only found deco containers so far that cant be wifi looted. The storage limits will be the HUGE problem. The max size a storage controller on an HV can have is 32000L. 1 T2 generator is 16000L. That means many trips back to base unless you have a beast of an HV with multiple 32000L controllers. We will see very purpose made vehicles now

What are Logistics? In Empyrion its a really crummy 'solution' to a non-existent problem. It MASSIVELY increases the amount of clicking you must do, is utterly anti-immersive, and that's not even counting the volume and mass limits, which I will never play with, that'll be the end of Empyrion for me if they force that implementation. And the bugs- YIKES! The Orkin Man ran screaming. I get it that it's 'experimental', but it's roughly the equivalent to Jeff Goldblum putting the fly in the machine on purpose.
So, I don't mind the idea of logistics, in fact once you get over the learning curve (like everything in this game), it makes a lot of sense. I take it, though, that this was really an end run around large cv's and sv's? I for one will miss large style vehicles that provide a platform for interesting designs, that can't be made any smaller. Also, as an aside, seems like the direction is towards more realism like space engineers, and that is somewhat of a new direction. I mean, if I wanted paper ships etc... I would just play that (S.E.) or move over to dual universe. Seems like I really need to start my own indie game development more than ever, since we'll prob. never get S.C. either.

This vid is great and all, however, you need to do a vid on CPU. Being limited to only 7500 CPU will break 90% of builds. Your CV's will be pretty much limited to Class 3 and below. Also.....CONTAINERS cost cpu...figured i should get that out there before people focus too much on logistics and get screwed later on.
CPU is next on my list to look into, but dont forget everything is subject to change and we have known for a while that Eleon want to limit build size for performance reasons. CPU limits once refined might be the way we get ships of purpose.
@@Spanj Agreed. But give us a way to increase CPU, and don't make bases, hv's, sv's, and cv's the same amount. Logistics are amazing, and we will see great thing from it...so on this we agree.
