This have been one hell of a season for the Mariners, I couldn't be happier with how we finished. Kyle played a huge role in our success. Thank you Seags for everything you did for this franchise!

I agree with everything you said except the happier with how we finished. I've been hearing this bs for the past two decades. We lost some easy games against shitty teams like the Royals and Diamondbacks which killed us in the end like usual. Always sniffing wild card contention but never actually making it.
Not making the post season kinda stings, but knowing how this team is built going forward and how low expectations were, I am not disappointed. Glad Seager got to go out on a high note, the winningest season for the Mariners since 2003. He will be missed.

THANK YOU #15, one of my favorite mariners the last 10 years. When fans started chanting his name in the 9th I could feel myself start crying, I knew this would happen today, and I didn’t realize it until it happened. Although the M’s came a bit short, this season was amazing. I can’t wait for next season, as always GO M’S!!!
Seager was my favorite player since 2012, and will still be for the rest of my life. Whatever team he goes to is the team I cheer for. Go Seager!

Kyle Seager missing the playoffs for the last opportunity in a Mariner's uniform and perhaps his career after a decade of great service is the most Mariners thing I can imagine. You deserved better, big guy. Fair winds and following seas!

I hope that somehow, some way we bring Kyle Seager back. After everything that this team has dealt with the last several years, we can't just let Seager go. He is the face of the franchise. If his time is done in Seattle, we love the hell out of you and we'll miss you! Go Mariners!

He's done in Seattle. Seattle is going younger and all players go thru this. I'm actually surprised he lasted this long. Usually all the older players get traded or released but they kept him. At least he is going out a winner.
He has a club option for next year but servais pulling him here pretty much confirms they aren't gonna take it. Truly sad to see him go after putting his heart into the mariners for 10 years and leaving the year before they are most likely gonna make a playoff run.
He is not worth 20 million to pick up his option. He hit .210 and gets on base at a .280 clip

@@jgeorge2693 Maybe not 20 million, but he's definitely not worth nothing. He put up his best offensive numbers this year with the exception of average. I would split it to 2 years for 20 million. We'd save a bit and still have a strong bat in the lineup. It'd be no different than having Joey Gallo on your team. They're going young with the rebuild and I get why they're moving on from him, I just wish they'd bring him back as a fan.

I was at this game and while a sad end to the season the love and chanting of “Kyle Seager” is something I won’t ever forget.
Standing in that crowd of 40,000+, hearing his name chanted, gets the waterworks going. What a good guy. With his departure, it truly is a brand new team now. Looking forward to the years to come and see what is on deck for Seager.

I know that I’m a Dodgers Fan but I love watching Kyle Seager play. He happens to be the older brother of Corey Seager (Dodgers Shortstop)!!!!!!!! I would love to see both brothers wear Dodger Blue but I know it won’t happen so I just hope that they both can be on the same team next year!!!!! End of this season hurt more than the 2014/2016 seasons because of this. I just wanted him to have a playoff game. First Jersey I bought myself was a Seager jersey.

I got to see Kyle on Oct 1 2021 sitting on the 3rd base side. He was having so much fun out there, you could tell. He was laughing and cutting up with the other teams 3rd base coach and fans also. Really cool dude.

An old army buddy of mine is a UNC baseball season ticket holder. When the Mariners drafted him and Ackley I was just going on and on about Dustin. He said by the time it’s done, Seager will make you forget all about Ackley. He was right.
It'll be sad when Seattle is a contending team going to the playoffs without him. A whole decade playing his heart out for Seattle and no playoffs. He deserves a team that is going to the playoffs.
Although I’m an Angels fan and the mariners have been a thorn in my side since ‘95. Angels fans know what I’m talking about. Kyle Seager deserve a lot of respect. Total class act. He plays the game right. Wherever he goes after this, he’ll be a great addition to any ball club.
I can see him being re-signed on a manageable contract and taking the pressure off him to be the big run producer. Kyle fits in as a #5 hitter, but shouldn't be in the 3 or 4 spot.

From his 1st day in the bigs he became known for his toughness and old school approach. His college teammate was the one everyone wanted, and the 3rd round second fiddle who played second base gave way to his college teammate to play there and became a gold glove at third and an all star. He gave his all and worth every penny to see. Good luck Seags and thanks for the memories.

Dipoto made clear before the season even started he wasn't comming back. There isn't anyone in the minors as good, and no one on the trading block either, and they could sign him for less, but not going to. Only Edgar got to play his whole career as a Mariner no one else.
Congrats to an amazing season. Though not what we'd all hope for, it was exciting and really brought us all together, to say the least. I spent my childhood and adolescence growing up watching Kyle play, my favorite infield spot was 3B because I got to grow up watching him. He deserved this moment, and so so so much more. I wish he could have gotten more as a Mariner. Watching this is so bittersweet, like watching my childhood ride off into the sunset. I hope he knows how much he’s impacted all of our the lives within his time as an M. No matter his uniform, I'll always be cheering for him. Future M’s HoF for sure. Godspeed Kyle.

Why wouldn’t Seattle bring him back? He’s had one of his best season in ages and M’s don’t have any one costing big money.
He still has a 2022 option to stick with the Ms one more year. But, they declined because they don't want to dish out 20 million for one season. That is a lot of money that could be spent for more young talent and proven solid players to complement the youngsters. The Ms have around $90million saved up.

They won't go all in until 2023. Too many players from the system to bring in. I suspect they'll grab a decent arm and cheaper bat/extend Haniger. Then get an ace for 2023.
