It is so hard to know what is available outside the US for me. There aren't a ton of articles or videos out there. The distilleries don't really say either. Do you have a state run system, or do distributors/importers handle things? In my area, once I find out who distributes something, I start asking when things will land. You can even contact them directly. So if you do have distributors or importers that handle everything, find out who handles Maker's Mark and ask them about this release. We have state monopoly here, but allowed to order from onlineshops in some cases as well, so I'm doing that. Bourbon isn't very popular though and so is harder to get special releases of. Thank's for the answer

Sometimes a vacation is the right time to do it. You see that special pour for $40ish bucks. Sometimes the experience is worth it. Considering the well stuff is probably $15, it isnt outrageous. But I understand if even that doesn't fit your budget. We all have our limits. Before I really got into bourbon, I though spending even $50 on a bottle of whiskey was just burning money. I tried the MMMC at Boxyard, and at first I was pausing with the taste... originally I thought it was high level good, but not great.. but now I can't stop thinking about it. It's definitely one to hunt down. Um, I need it.
On this flight the first time I sipped it. I thought it was really good. The second time, right before the reveal... I thought it might be the best bourbon I have ever tasted, or at least top 10. Cool video, love your content. Although, I dont think you're using "dank" properly... (unless youre really not liking the nose on Found north/WLW) ... Dank is like musty / moldy in an off-putting fashion.
I definitely mean it in a good way. But also in musty oak kind of way. I would consider it a good thing on the nose of a bourbon, but on the palate if there is too much of an oak presence it tends to dry out the mouth in an unpleasent way (overoaked). I did not get it at $150. Paid $225 and I think that is a bargain. It will go over $400 on secondary. I also think this will make most youtubers' top 3 of 2023.
I think they get overhyped because of the liquor stores that mark them up 10x thier retail price. If a bottle of Old Rip 10 was good enough to cost $1000, Buffalo Trace would charge that. It is a great $80 bottle. That is that. Cheers buddy thanks for watching 🥃
BT has a unique profile. So, that is more a matter of personal taste. BT is fine at close to MSRP. I won't pay full secondary for anything. I may pay 50 to 75 percent more than MSRP for Weller 107 or 12. But I am not going to pay 400 percent more on secondary.
Makers again and again and again. They know what the hell they are doing! I have a shelf dedicated to makers. It’s my second favorite besides Rebecca creek double barrel Spanish oak bourbon which nothing and I mean nothing can even touch.

I live in Tucson, so I don't even go there, but have heard the same thing about shops down here as well.
Found it for $225 at a local store and I was lucky to get it.
im not a huge fan of oak staves , so not a makers mark fan...but everyone seems to love some of their new offerings.
I will stick to other stuff in the 70-90$ price range...
I'd prob take any Barrell product of anything by MM.
To each, their own!!
No staves on this one buddy! Just standard Maker's Mark aged an extra 6 years and at barrel proof.

I tried the MMMC at Boxyard, and at first I was pausing with the taste... originally I thought it was high level good, but not great.. but now I can't stop thinking about it. It's definitely one to hunt down. Um, I need it.
On this flight the first time I sipped it. I thought it was really good. The second time, right before the reveal... I thought it might be the best bourbon I have ever tasted, or at least top 10. The more I sipped on the glen, the more I noticed more different flavors. It is special. I hope you get to try it again!

Cool video, love your content. Although, I dont think you're using "dank" properly... (unless youre really not liking the nose on Found north/WLW) ... Dank is like musty / moldy in an off-putting fashion.
I definitely mean it in a good way. But also in musty oak kind of way. I would consider it a good thing on the nose of a bourbon, but on the palate if there is too much of an oak presence it tends to dry out the mouth in an unpleasent way (overoaked). I hope this makes since and isn't giberish lol.

I think they get overhyped because of the liquor stores that mark them up 10x thier retail price. If a bottle of Old Rip 10 was good enough to cost $1000, Buffalo Trace would charge that. It is a great $80 bottle. That is that.

BT has a unique profile. So, that is more a matter of personal taste. BT is fine at close to MSRP. I won't pay full secondary for anything. I may pay 50 to 75 percent more than MSRP for Weller 107 or 12. But I am not going to pay 400 percent more on secondary.

Makers again and again and again. They know what the hell they are doing! I have a shelf dedicated to makers. It’s my second favorite besides Rebecca creek double barrel Spanish oak bourbon which nothing and I mean nothing can even touch.

The show was Great but I have a love hate relationship with YT whiskey channels. I love to watch them but hate the Hype it brings to bourbons makes it almost impossible to get good stuff unless you pay 2 or 3 sometimes 4x the msrp.
You really do have a point. I was just saying im another comment, I still view myself as too small to make a huge difference, but I think that phase might be passing by.
