Great video. Been a Makers fan for 30 years (was my gateway bourbon) and love most everything they do. I'm sure I'll never get the opportunity to try this, so thanks for describing and reviewing it. You are very luck for the opportunity to have this. Cheers!
11 / 12 year old = about $120 by today's 'standard' so $150 isn't outrageous. Of course, getting one at msrp will be almost impossible unless you have a TH-cam channel or know someone. Maker's Mark always marketed itself as a 'premium' bourbon so nice to see that they're making a solid effort to regain that image. 👏 Trenton needs to start a candy review channel. Sounds like he is a candy sommelier of the highest order!
Thanks for the video and for the information. With a $150 price tag and a very limited allocation I believe this would be for a special occasion pour. Certainly worthy of a special shelf placement if able to be purchased. Thanks again....
Great video. I'll keep my eyes out for this one. Loved Luden's as a kid. I think saying they were medicinal was giving them too much credit. They were basically candy to help sooth your throat. Halls is a different beast, though. Beautiful bottle. Glad the flavor backs up the presentation and cost. Good job, gentlemen. Loved the live stream. Happy to see Maker's Mark is really doing some great things.
Great that you got to get one. I will never see one same with the wood series never saw a bottle. But I have a 101 unopened and I can get a cask bottle regularly for now which will be fine! Enjoy!!
Would love to see a blind with Makers Cellar, and other older bourbons such as JD 10 and 12, Eagle Rare, Henry McKenna 10, Russell’s Reserve 10, and Michter 10.
Great show guys. I'll be honest, I've never gravitated toward MM for some reason. I only have the Cask Strength on my bar and I wasn't a big fan. I find the finish somewhat harsh. But with MM doing so well on recent episodes, I'm going to have to revisit their offerings. However, I don't expect I'll find this particular bottle in the wild anytime soon. Cheers.
I keep returning to my Maker's Single Barrel. I normally drink single malts but it seems like whenever I think bourbon lately I always drink the Maker's. I have a pretty good selection of bourbon. I will have to look for this.
Maker's Mark was my introduction to bourbon. I'm hoping this is somewhat available in California, I've never really had any difficulty finding some of the higher end Maker's Mark products in my area. I still see some BEP and FAE releases lingering around.
Thank you for the reviww. I would love to taste it but I'm afraid it will sell for $50 a pour in my area. I will go for the bottle of Old Forester instead.
I`m hoping the powers that be at Makers will look favourably on it`s UK customers & send us over this wonderful bottle. I`m at the head of the queue! Nice review guys, thanks.
Thank you for the confirmation that this release is worth hunting for and that the price sounds about right! Trenton: Tip - Use a drop of Goo-Gone next time instead of WD40. 😉
I enjoyed the review, and the honest opinion. I just hope I am fortunate enough to find a bottle or two always look out for friends that won’t come across it.
KURT!!! TRENTON!!! This was a great video!! I love Makers Mark, so this is right up my alley!!! I'll have to keep an eye 👀 out for this!!! CHEERS family!!!
Was able to score a bottle, my local grocery store wine and spirits buyer shocked me when he said that he got a bottle. Looking forward to trying a pour soon!!!
Nice video. guys! MM was the first bourbon I liked, many years ago, and have been trying many of their new releases. Would love to get my hands on this one, but a quick check on secondary shows prices at $400 to $700. So....probably not in the cards for me.
Terrific review from the old guy. Nailed it. Thank you for the Video. For me i had the same exact reaction. This is a phenomenal Maker's. A truly special pour. For me, the cherry came at the finish. Caramel and vanilla creaminess through the first 3/4 palate. Then it finishes with a medium sweet slightly spicy cherry finish that has a glorious chest feel. Cheers. Just took my last sip of the pour and a caramel waffle cookie jumped out at me. Cheers.
I'm excited that Maker's Mark is finally doing an aged stated release, I do wish they would have followed Jack Daniels lead and made it more affordable for more people. Jack was able to do a 12yr at $80 which seems much more reasonable. And no way I;m paying $35+ for a 1-1.5 oz pour. lol, that's the better part of many a good bottle.
I found this bottle 🎉, when I first opened it I was disappointed. I went back to it a week later OH man this is definitely the best Makers Mark I own. It’s fantastic I could kill the whole bottle fast lol.
I doubt that I will get the chance to buy one of these, but I am going to check at my favorite bourbon bars to see if one of them has a bottle. Would love to try a pour.
We tried what OHLQ distributed a few weeks ago, MM Private selection. They had 5 different ones. We had 3. I'm assuming it is similar to their wood finishing series. But we were wow'd by how good they were. Not sure if you guys have had those and how they compare to this?
I'm in NV and have heard it is going to be extremely limited. I'd love to pick one up but I think these are going to sit in museums around town for big $$$ or be in drawings.
I was able to get this bottle in Kentucky. I was told that the state of Kentucky only got 20 bottles, so by you saying your state got 38 or 40 that confirms what I was told . Even though you would think that Kentucky would have more who knows.
When it silenced and froze them both after the tasting, I was thinking dammit!! I was just 5 minutes away from the distillery yesterday, but I didn't have the time to stop (on the way to a family reunion).
Tried this for a $25 two ounce pour. Loved the nose, wasn’t amazed by the palette… at first. I walked away and can’t stop thinking about it. The finish is amazing and I would to find a bottle.
@@josephdanko7451 I had it at box yard in Tucson, but not sure it was more than one bottle. And another place in Tucson called may have a bottle for pours.
This is supposed to be an annual release. And according to Fred Minck, this happened bc he has relentless asked MM to come out with a 12yr old cask strength product, after trying a bottle brought to an event that was a 12yr cask strength makers.
If you live in a state that is apart of the direct shipping program Makers celler age is apart of this seasons shipment it goes out in late September to early October so there is time sign up if you want one.
just found out what SLB stands for. Its pretty wild to me because my mother who passed away last year, that was her motto. Any time things got tough that was her go to phrase. I actually had some custom ray bans made after she passed that has that saying on them on the inside. Just thought id share.
$150 is a lot but if your getting those notes on the nosing and tasting it's worth it. Could you do another cocktail video? Haven't seen one In a while
really enjoy MM products in general and most private selects, but was really let down by the cellar aged. Thought it was hot, thin, not a lot of depth or flavor in general, and very drying. Reminds me of some of the wheat whiskeys i've tasted. Had this head to head with a pour of stagg 22b and stagg just absolutely destroyed it in every way just way more depth and the flavors were way more nuanced and layered. I think they need to go back to the drawing board on this one for my pallet.
I've been watching you guys practically every day. The funny thing is i dont drink. 😂 i havent drank in approximately 8 years. My oldest son will be 21 years old this December and i am taking him to Vegas. December will be the first time i drink of course i have to have whiskey with my son. So far i have Buffalo Trace, Wiled Turkey rare breed and Woodford reserve double oaked. Is there anything else i should add to our menu?
Just found out I’m gonna be a dad for the first time. I enjoyed it with a great bottle of MM 46CS.
Can you guys do a video on the entire old elk lineup?
I second this
Yesssss!
Definitely need this
Great suggestion
Old elk over priced.. $80 bottles around me I choose a lot over it
I walked into liquor barn today in central Kentucky and they had 3 on the 1 per counter. I almost fainted. Proud owner.
The aroma is just out of this world. I too could live in! Great video. Hope they make a 2024 version.

Most expensive bottle I’ve bought is Rare Breed. Love it! Would never be able to spend $150, not doubting it is worth it, though.
Everything MM touches is gold. I absolutely love their products.
Trenton, you are the MAN when it comes to finding highly rated, hard to find whiskey. Cheers
I LOVE the regular Maker's Mark line. It packs so much flavor for the money. I'll definitely try this bottle if I ever come across it.

You guys have the best side hustle in the world - tasting these gorgeous bourbons. Love the review!
Thanks for the review, glad to see more new stuff coming out of MM. Not a fan of the 150 price mark, but would still like to try it.
This is fast becoming THE bottle I'm hunting for. Hope to get my hands on one! Thanks for the review!
Would love to see a blind with Makers Cellar, and other older bourbons such as JD 10 and 12, Eagle Rare, Henry McKenna 10, Russell’s Reserve 10, and Michter 10.
Props to Trenton on the Luden's cough drop reference. I really hope I can get this in my area soon. Cheers!
Keep on hearing great response to this release, was able to pick up two bottles myself for below MSRP- $124!!!!
great review. I am on the hunt for this. keep hearing great things. cheers. 🥃

Yes!!!! 🍒!
Great review! Thanks for the shoutout.
I will NEVER find this for $150, thus will probably never get to taste this. It sounds incredible. MAN do I wish I had a Harry.
The masters keep voyage was fantastic
Always been a Maker's fan boy, I haven't been this excited about getting a bottle in a long, long time.
Same, although I can just see for the first time a lineup at Makers Mark of a bunch of flippers looking to profit off of the hype.
Makers has been my jam this year ... hope I can get my hands on this one.
I keep returning to my Maker's Single Barrel. I normally drink single malts but it seems like whenever I think bourbon lately I always drink the Maker's. I have a pretty good selection of bourbon. I will have to look for this.
Makers is a great sipping whiskey, and I've always wanted a bit more proof, so I'll be on the hunt for this one.

Hope to get my hands on one.
Those Cherry Luden’s are undefeated lol

I've been waiting for this video!!! ECBP 923 is supposed to possibly be a late year rival at 13yrs.
Yes it is and good point. ECBP 923 will be 13 year 7 months.
This one is high on my list. It’s about 400 right now on secondary but hasn’t hit all markets so that can certainly change.
Awesome. I'll buy up every bottle I see now, and I don't even like MM. Thanks SLB!
I just got three bottles for my restaurant bar in Santa Monica, California. Stop by Fritto Misto if you’d like to try this fantastic whiskey.
I believe at Makers, it was ~$30 for a half pour in Sept.
I found this bottle 🎉, when I first opened it I was disappointed. I went back to it a week later OH man this is definitely the best Makers Mark I own. It’s fantastic I could kill the whole bottle fast lol.
Great review. I’m in the Maker’s Mark “Whiskey Drop” program and this one is in the next shipment.
Like dollar shave club but for mm? 😮
I need this, wondering when i can start hunting
I doubt that I will get the chance to buy one of these, but I am going to check at my favorite bourbon bars to see if one of them has a bottle. Would love to try a pour.
Asked my local retailer - he stated very allocated for this bottle, and he get's his hands on a lot of allocated bottles.
Would you guys do a bourbon hunting at your local spots? Cus you sure get your hands on these hitters so quick and easily.
the color is impressive- like Jack Daniels looks in their commercial 😋
YESSSSS!!!! I'm in the top 5!!!
If this one of your guy's top 5. Then we need to see that video too!
I'd love to see a lineup of less expensive 115pf-ish bourbons against this as you mentioned. That would be a good video. Thank you guys!
Great descriptions! Hope to find this soon...
p.s. Guess the room mike went dead toward the end...? 😄
That bottle is so good the channel hit puberty at 12:40 and it's voice dropped
put it this way, if it was any lower, it would just be second marketed at 3x then too
Y'all got serious on this one! Grave, even. :) I enjoy all your reviews.

Y’all see the rarebreed rye? Almost picked it up today but I’m waiting on a review or 2 and the price isn’t bad at all under 40 bucks
The article about it in the Lexington newspaper said it's a 30,000 bottle release.

I think Maker's stated this release was comprised of ~225 barrels. Depending on the yield probably 30,000 or so bottles total I'd guess. Cheers guys!

Yeah. A Manhattan video with different vermouths or with different Bourbons would be cool. Blind for sure
You have almost no chance at less than $250.
