Man Toyotas 6 speed AT Supremely tall gears, taller than most 8 speeds out there 110kph at 2000rpm in 5th gear and 1500rpm at 6th gear No wonder why Toyotas last so long
They go for reliability , less stress on transmission thanks to torque converter absorbing everything. However this surely does steal the performance. Isuzu locks it a bit earlier which enables it to accelerate better despite 15 HP less power
Acceleration to 100kph without brake hold (11.49secs) and stopping from 100kph (43metres) are not inspiring numbers at all. Performance is not in the Rogue's design DNA it would seem 🤔
In alot of modern vehicles, they have that feature where the hazard lights flash quickly in order to get the attention of the person who could be driving behind the vehicle.
Some people want a quick ute. Remember when tradies/owners were driving HSV and FPV utes? Those people are still around. This video shows you that this is not a quick ute.
@@TechHead03 the reason why tradies pick these dual cab diesel utes over the old holden and ford v8's is because they only had 2 seats while these days you can take the whole family in your work car. 0-100 times are great for fast cars but its pointless for these utes. With fast performance comes unreliability. Id rather see this channel do tests like towing trailers/ caravans and more work related and offroad testing for these utes. If theyre built for towing, show us towing performance tests. If theyre built for offroad driving, then show us offroad tests. I like this channel but they shouldnt do the same tests for a bmw m3 and a toyota hilux
@@peterachilles9346 PDrive does that same tests for all vehicles. That's the format of their channel. If you want to see towing tests, start your own channel mate or look elsewhere. People use utes for day to day driving these days and performance matters to a lot of drivers. Carexpert just did a whole bunch of ute tests and generally the slower less powerful utes, performed worse on the towing tests too. Also a blanket statement like 'fast performance comes unreliability' is really just ignorant.

Exciting stuff starts at 3:28
Never thought I’d see the day we see diesel utes doing 0-100 & various performance tests.
You need to watch thailand drag diesels.....you will be surprised 😮
@@Hanzaki88you cant trick me into putting the words "Thailand drag" into a search
good thing he put 'diesels' at the end of that sentence
I've only spotted one on the road so far and I must say, it looks nicer than the other Hilux models.
It looks hardly any different lol
Yes and I was surprised by how much better it looks. The wider stance is really noticeable on the road compared to how it looks in video.

My dad has one
2023 Hilux Rogue coming soon to a showroom in 2025...Can't wait!
I just purchased one 2 days ago and it’s 3 weeks lead time 🤷♂️
Imagine this on the Nurburgring with the tail gate down.

I can agree with you all day
My Volkswagen amarok does over 3000 rpm on 100 kph.
In the web page says Hilux roge x has a time from 0/100 of 10.24 and in this vid says 10.68, I guess results are reliable as well
Should do a versing comparison of the 150 kw hilux vs the new Grsport 165kw
I'd like to see the 3.3 litre from the 300 shoe-horned into a HiLux. That'd be exciting!!
I agree and I hope it's not detuned 😕 . Anyhow it would still be a monster
Love it
You should retest a Holden Colorado 2.8 just for the hell of it.
What for, it isn't a great car, and it doesn't even exist😳
@@openureyes4415 Because I own one.
Does the front end vibrate at 105km/h
It's a shame Toyota still program that trans to shift and lock the converter so late, robs the acceleration potential
Better for lock up selenoid and clutch pack.

If im being honest the new Hilux Conquest still doesn't have that soft suspension feeling
When hilux gr?
big improvement from the 12second time they used to have still would take a ford ranger biturbo or a v6 ranger
Under hard braking, do you turn the hazards ON or is it automatic?

How is the 0-100 time relevant in day to day driving in a car like this?
It gives us an idea of its acceleration compared with other diesel utes 👍
