Condition, what pressing it is, and a lot more are deciding factors. Most people are under the impression that records are worth a lot more than they really are.
I've always done well with punk and heavy metal. Particularly if you have first pressings. Vinyl must be in good condition with no marks or scratches and cover also in good condition. Also sold heaps of Punk CDs for good money.
Didn’t strike gold. You’ll be lucky to make your money back & if you do, it’ll take a long time to do it. Luckily it wasn’t a fortune. But stop buying records unless you wanna learn a loooooooot about them.
The framed Elvis portrait of him in red, im thinking i was given a poster back in 1968 when i went and saw him in the movie Speedway. It was in poster form. I was eight years of age then. It looks like the picture i had. I might be wrong because, it's along time ago now.
@Cherry pickn Hoosiers awesome score From southern Indiana. Awesome video keep them coming by the way Elvis Presley. Last Concert was in Indiana Down Town Indianapolis at the old Market Square
Hi, really liked the video. If it's not too far, go back & see if the man has those 45s, Memphis 45s can be worth hundreds if not thousands each. Elvis first record on Sun is one of the most sought after in existence. He could very well have one. Good luck to you
A lot of people lie and brag about things they (had or never had) I don't know how many times I've had people go on and on about all of the records they have that they admit never listening to and that are getting ruined up in their attics, and they don't want to sell them no matter how many times you tell them you are interested in buying them and will pay cash. Not saying that guy is lying but happens all too often.
The guy said he had Sun record 45s - you might have left a lot of gems if you didn’t grab all the 45s- those albums for the most part looked pretty beat up
If he didn't look at those Elvis 45's and they happened to have been on the Sun label with round push pin imprint marks then he really did miss out on the big dollars, because those later issue Elvis albums are all common compilations that are everywhere for a dollar each. However he did pick up some great 50's 60's original pressing rockers like Jack Scott, and those Cadillac albums are very rare to find, hope the condition was excellent on these.
What you picked up was a treasure trove of very good condition vintage records from the 1950's and early 1960's. Collectors of those items will pay a decent amount for those items. That Cadillacs album is a choice pick, well done. You didn't even know what you bought, but you really hit a jackpot. I'm a new subscriber, and have to say that you two young folks seem like a cool couple. Good luck, and happy picking!
Vinyl collecting is generational. So the prices that this guy had on those records were probably from the 70's or 80's, when the people who were into those artists were alive. However, Elvis is a perfect example of a generation who had pretty much died off, and there's no one around with that kind of expendable cash. That's why that $300.00 record is now selling for $50.00. The Badfinger album is really cool! (Depending upon its condition.)
The re-sale prices of vinyl has gone down tremendously over the past few years. Used, out of print CDs actually fetch more money than most vinyl right now.
@@stevegilmore2093 I guess you're young, cause if you think vinyl is "back" you weren't around for when it was actually here. It's having a small comeback catered to a certain type of audience. You think being able to buy a Taylor Swift record at Target for $40 means it's back? No. And I was specifically talking about "re-sale prices". My comment still stands.
@@spek-27 not back. But it has a pretty decent sized community that’s pretty dedicated. Compared to what 10 years ago it’s been a resurgence. But for what I could’ve gotten a 10$ record 10 years ago I’d now 50$. Point being prices have actually gone way up, not down.
@@stevegilmore2093 Just because records are more expensive now to a niche crowd of devotees, doesn't mean that "vinyl is back". Like I said, it's having a small comeback catered to a certain type of audience. Only a small number of albums get a vinyl release. And those albums are more expensive now since it's so difficult to get them made, because barely anyone makes vinyl anymore because barely anyone buys vinyl anymore.
I have a Elvis box set For Japanese Fans Only on Japanese Sony Records. The box is ruff but the records have never been on a table. Bought it at a record show in Clearwater, Florida in the 90's for $5.00. Jim
Elvis lps have the same problem as Beatles lps. There's just too much of it, and unless it's a first pressing at EX to NM condition, you're dealing with nickels and dimes.
Think the records were way overpriced. Condition and exact issue is key to selling records. Those also looked to have some dish warp from storage to them.
Just saw this vid, kind of a curious so I listened to The Crazy Cadillacs on Amazon prime.. boy that is some 50's beebop shabadoo wap music.. its actually very good if you in the mood to listen to that music. I am not from that doo wap era... but it still good music. I can imagine kids in the 50's swing dancing at the soda pop store.. lol. definately Pre-Rock.. which makes sense, as Elvis is at the cusp of the emergence of rock music.
You know I've been collecting vinyl records ever since I was like 10 years old and I have a total of 199 albums I have kiss Motley Crue Guns and Roses Metallica And I go to a lot of garage sales I found a T-Rex album by Bob Seger album Steve Miller Band album a Rolling Stones album The Who I haven't found a bunch of Ramones on vinyl they're all in good shape and I found a huge collection of Aerosmith albums and they're all in pristine condition
I got a question for you I'm a Big Guns N Roses fan and the only albums I've been able to find on vinyl or appetitefordestruction usual illusion wanted to but where in the world do you find GNR lies on vinyl and Guns N Roses live from 87-93 cuz I do not trust this dogs are eBay if you are me what would you do
Condition condition condition. Collectors are usually not interested in records below VG or VG+ including covers. Going from M- to VG+ reduces the value 50% off the bat. Down to VG or VG- another 30%. If G or less it’s 10% to worthless. Not to be a downer but the number of Elvis collectors is quickly declining so don’t expect top notch prices like. Decade or two ago.
Interesting video ..I've been to a few garage sales however no one lets them go cheap. Only once I got stuck with a bunch of easy listening. Also why I haven't had a garage sale with my records because guys will come in wanting a bargain.... 😂

Awesome video man! When you're selling the Elvis records make sure to look for first pressings, the record ID number will begin with LPM if its a first pressing and LSP if it's a reissue. Great pickups!
More and More of the “Elvis era” 1955-63 material is falling in value by the year. It’s still great music but most record collectors want “Sgt.
