    Super cool. demonstration I can see how this technique will be useful when modeling a figure in clay. Making small hands to use as a reference, will help the modeling process. Could be helpful with some other details as well. Thanks, This is a great video.

    Great tutorial, I'm starting now and it was really useful for me Thank you!
    Which clay do you use? I'm using the fimo soft but is really too soft, I'd like to find something more rigid.

    • @AngelbeingWorkshop
      @AngelbeingWorkshop  9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +jscancado You are welcome! I use Super Sculpey, it's soft too but do need some methods to work with it. I put armatures and apply with clay, baked first, so I don't hold on soft clay to sculpt.

    thank you very much ; what is the use of the solvent before baking ?

    • @AngelbeingWorkshop
      @AngelbeingWorkshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s nail polish remover, you’d better try a small piece of Super Sculpey before put it on your actual sculpture. Every brand may vary, some works better, some might not work. Thanks for taking your time watching it!

    Fantastic work and I am struggling with my first attempt. My fingers always droop when working with them.... what can you suggest to help with that? I've rolled out a sausage for the fingers at sat it in the fridge to see if that helps.

      If you have hard time making the hand, perhaps you may try to make a larger scale of hand. When you get to make it works, try some smaller size.

    Excellent! Thank you so much for sharing!I think if you bake the arm a bit less, it would not end up burnt and the colour of both pieces would match after the final baking. :-) Another thing I learnt with Barbara (Fairiesonnmypond) is if you bake the pieces covered in baking soda, the "moonies" don't show so much!

    • @AngelbeingWorkshop
      @AngelbeingWorkshop  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +eumaroca I usually bake the sculptures in and out of the oven more than 10 times, the baking issues are not bothering me much. I usually cover baked area with aluminum foil each extra baking time, especially thin, pointed and small areas. But thanks for your information!!

    Your work is fantastic and professional. May I ask how you make the modeling clay? I know many make fondant and flower paste 1: 1, but when I do it, the consistency is not so nice. I would be really grateful for the feedback.

    • @AngelbeingWorkshop
      @AngelbeingWorkshop  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends, I mostly would figure out the figurine could be held or not. If not, I would make it in parts and put them together after baked, but most of time, I sculpt it in a whole piece.

  • @samanthamonaghan2071
    @samanthamonaghan2071 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    That's absolutely amazing thank you so much! So can you add unbaked clay to baked clay and rebake again? You're very skilled, thanks again 😀

    • @AngelbeingWorkshop
      @AngelbeingWorkshop  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you can do that! I normally sculpt my figurines in sections to get more details. And baked for a couple times when each parts finished. Some even went in and out of the oven for more than 10 times.
      The point is, each time of baking, lower down the temperature a bit and shorten the baking time according to the clay box said, cover the baked area with aluminum foil (aluminum baking sheet), especially thin and pointed areas to prevent burning. Only expose the unbaked soft clay area. That should keep you put in and out of the oven to probably 15 times or more.
      But the color of baked clay might go deeper. Each oven may vary, you'll need to test it and get a good temp and time for the balance.

      If you’re using air dry clay like paper mache, super lightweight clay. You may add some short toothpicks with white glue as armature support. Anyhow the method is about the same. Wishing you the best for the project!
