Great video, may I ask what material you use? I am a custom funko pop artist and been using miliput for years to sculpt what I need but im kinda losing faith in it
even being older video still got good Tips some i have not seen B4 TY been having trouble lately making tiny hands working on Little Nightmares characters so can imagine if you sen the Video game. Also for me depends on the type of clay being used super Sculpey very good for making tiny hands, the body templates for ur fairies also be used for other characters but i like fairy too though.🤓 also for fingernails well i used smaller straws and cut it to an angle you know like a hypodermic needle i will try using them Needles for Folks use for Epoxy resin but i will need to sand it to an angle can buy different size types if this helps for finger nails works great for me ok Thank you aprylian
I usually just feel mad lol. I can never get it just right. Sometimes I need to just quit while I'm ahead, but the ridiculously annoying perfectionist in me just keeps "perfecting" until its destroyed...I'm a perfectionist who has never perfected anything😂
Thank you for the great tips! I'm working through Maureen Carlson's "How to Make Clay Characters" and the hands are making me crazy. (I've found creative ways to hide them all so far, lol.) I'm pretty sure my next doll will have nicer hands due to your help. :-)
when using polymer clay which is hardened in a stove (130°C) it easily happens that the fingers change their position while in the stove. Is it then better to first make the fingers with some thin metal wire and then put clay over it so there is more stability to keep the fingers in position?

So lovely :D got alot out of it, thank you! ^^ One question though, did you bake the body before adding the hands, then put it in the oven again in it's entirety?
+MarvellousMarvel Fjeah Yea the whites can be tricky. I use a mixture of clays; Prosculpt, Premo and Cernit. Here is a video: th-cam.com/video/jir3czAddYM/w-d-xo.html
I'm here to make tiny hands for my aarakocra D&D figurine. But it's even smaller than this...It's like 2 inches tall. I can make wings with all the feathers, beaks, talons...just not hands.
@@aprylian Yeah...but it's a bit easier thanks to your video! I've made 4 miniscule hands already, and none of them are good enough, but they're much better than if I had tried on my own (and they're getting better each time I try).
I am 8 years late but this was a great find. Subbed and looking forward to watching more of your videos. Thank you for sharing your skills
I've been trying for three days straight to make decent hands, this is the only tutorial that has helped. Finally got one!
That is great! Keep on going.
Wow!! Cutting out a wedge = mind blown.
I get the feeling that what is looking simple here, is actually pretty clever. Experts make hard look easy.
You just have to try and also practice. :)
wonderful, I hope I can get as good as you at sculpting! It's amazing to see it come to life, as you do a bit more on each Ooak doll.

I don't have that problem but yes you can do that or you can also use a heat gun for a minute on the hands to harden them a bit before you bake them.
Very good👍
I love you you're awesome and talented. Thank you so much for the tutorial
What kind of clay should we use?it is so awesome that I want to make myself either >

+MarvellousMarvel Fjeah
Yes most polymer clays can be baked a few times.

I did overbake a few pieces, and got a little scared of putting it in the oven too many times.
+MarvellousMarvel Fjeah
What clay did you use?
+aprylian Fimo (from staudtler) polymer clay :/ Only the white clay burned though, giving it a brownish look...
