    It's not Assam, it's a neighbouring state called Meghalaya. It's in north east India, there are 7 states in north east, called 7 sisters- Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura. Also Some consider the state of Sikkim to be a part of North East but it's not contiguous with north east it's north of Bengal, beautiful place though.
    All the north eastern states have indigenous people and are very rich in natural diversity and forests and mountains. If you want to be close to nature that's the place to go. It's still very pristine and less corrupted by urbanization and people are the sweetest.

    that is from my state, I have been there many times, it is absolutely exhausting to go there, especially when coming back, more than 3500 steps lol. Plus foreigners have bigger issues to their feet size.
    but you know what, it is absolutely worth it.
    and not just living root bridge, there is a Rainbow forest, although that means another 20-30 minutes enduring walk. also there are many natural swimming pools, absolutely gorgeous place.
    plus near the double root bridge there is a small shop, where you get maggi. after being exhausted, that maggi tastes like food of heaven haha.

    Hey Rick and Korben it's my heartest and deep request whenever you visit India don't waste your time in Metropolitan cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata or elsewhere because believe me you have better cities then ours.
    Just visit these seven sister states- Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. Actually it's eight Sikkim too.
    You'll remember these places for the rest of your life.
    It's a heaven for nature lovers.
    Love you guys

    • @Jasmine_Sangma
      @Jasmine_Sangma 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      True. Visiting the cities doesn't make sense at all because there are just heaps of people, pollution and most things you have probably seen in cities in US and mostly better. Visit smaller places which includes the 7 Sister states in the North East.

    • @SubramanyaNaligay
      @SubramanyaNaligay 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      no need to hate: spending time in the cities is not a waste. i'm sure the seven sisters and sikkim are gorgeous and i'd love to get to know them, but our cities are not just cities- they're a living and breathing presence: just like the north east. i know they're different but that's just how india is. the cities are yours just as much as they are their inhabitants' and i'd like for you to visit Bangalore and the rest of the cities, like they're your own. you'll find whole new and different worlds of experiences opening up to you. peace and love. 🥂

    This clip is taken from BBC's documentary, Human Planet telecasted sometime in 2003. Meghalaya is one of the North Eastern states in India which translates to Abode of clouds. It's capital Shillong is sometime referred to as the Scotland of the East. Meghalaya is famous for its waterfalls, caves, Sacred groves, and mostly its festivals. It's one of India's hot eco-tourist spots with three main tribes Khasi, jaintia and the garos. You could however Google for more. Regards, a shillongnite.

You can find nature, mountains, snow, rain, cities with less pollution, Good food and famous landmarks. One advice, the north east is closer to Kolkata. So, if you're planning a trip to north east, you can plan it when you're in or around kolkata. It will be convenient.

And south indian languages sound completely different to north indian languages cause their linguistic roots are different. South indian languages are dravidian languages. So it's understandable that your pronunciation is often times perfect with hindi and isn't as perfect with southern languages because the way the vowels and everything are pronounced is often times completely different.

    North East India is it's own little trip. It should ideally be at least a week long.
    There is sooo much to see that it might not work as a small detour. Although if that is the only option available to you I say go for it. Don't miss it.

    Well.....even a 6 month trip to India would be less to explore it's beauty.
    So guys, plan your trip smartly because no matter what, you are surely gonna miss tons of things.

    We are proud of our nature. Meghalaya is so full of natural beauty. Thanks guys this made me feel better after the last video I saw. So whenever you're in India head to the north east. And Meghalaya is a seperate state and not a part of Assam. We are the neighbours of Assam. The people who have mastered the art of making the living root bridges are the Khasi tribe and I'm a khasi. So please visit Meghalaya it's full of natural beauty. Love from Shillong the capital city of Meghalaya.

    I'm from northeast and had been few times in Meghalaya I never satisfied the beauty of the nature always wondered how God is Great How wonderfully he created. The height and depth of huge mountains sometimes scared me but it's beautiful. You can hear the sound of waterfall before seeing it. And the chirping of birds. It's so nice when you're totally covered by nature. You came to realize how pure is the nature.

    you have to walk down approximately 3500 stairs and some 2km walk to reach double decker living root bridge. the path is itself very beautiful. i've been there twice, but, i gotta tell you- coming back from there hurts your legs to climb those 3500 stairs straight up. u might want to experience it once in your life.

    Its meghalaya...a distinct state ...right beside Assam... "Meghalaya" literally means - home of clouds...i've been there last year....its absolutely stunning....there are tons of gorgeous falls and rivers...u saw one of those in this video - the seven sister falls (seven falls one beside another altogether)....'Cherapunjee' in meghalaya holds the world record of heaviest rainfalls throughout a year....wettest place indeed!! Wish i could share the pictures i captured there with u guys somehow 😍😍😍 u'll be awestruck....that double decker living root bridge that is shown here, i walked through it....its 3500 steps down from the hilltop 😱...total 7000 rocky steps up n down from hilltop...but it'll be a memory of a lifetime....and some falls are inside soooo wilderness that u'll have to literally struggle to get there and back....there is a 'sacred forest' maintain since centuries by the local tribe....amazing experience there....and the local food is amazing.... 'David hoffman' ("david's been here" youtube channel; u guys just reacted to his '10 best hyderabadi street food' video) covered the whole meghalaya food stuffs....watch those vids....

    Meghalaya is not in Assam. Both are separate states 😊. It's in the North eastern part of India. The living root bridge is in Meghalaya this part is near the border of the country Bangladesh.
    If you are planning to come to Meghalaya, you will need to take a flight till Guwahati (Assam) and take a cab or bus to meghalaya. There are several homestay, lodge and hotels in Meghalaya contact anyone to book a cost effective cab to take you to living root bridge, cleanest village in Asia and the point to see the border of Bangladesh through a tree house. There are lot more places to visit in Meghalaya. Like the Mawsmai cave with stalagtides and stalagmites, waterfalls, natural hot spring, Dwar ka suit (the devil's door), the hill with naturally carved as a giant Anaconda's face, khoh Rom Ha (basket of the giant Rom Ha), a huge stone when you place your ears will hear the sound of drums, Mawsynram the place which receives the highest rainfall in the world. Exotic non veg, veg and fruits, Orchid cultivation, natural lakes, para ceiling, water sports and many more.
    I'm lucky to be an Assamese and to born and grow in Meghalaya.😊😊
