I adore all of your outfits…..you look amazing! I also agree with the sun protection part. I’m Australian and have just had 2 skin cancers removed….not a fun experience. I’m the person now that always has to have long sleeves and big hat….in 38 deg heat😅

Spoiler alert Emma: I have a highly recommended and pricey hat clip (and expensive) with the strongest magnet inside. And yes, I lost my best hat. I was absolutely devastated as the hat cost me a fortune and now it's gone! 😞 All I will say is, don't rely 100% on it. Keep hold of the brim while it hangs if you can!

I don’t understand M&S, why offer different lengths in a cotton dress that could be easily hemmed but not on a knitted dress which is very difficult to take up?! It makes no sense!
Their decision for this won’t be based on the fabric, it will be based on predicted sales of stock. If they think something will sell well then there is more stock made and more sizes produced. It could be that if this dress sells well this season next year they make a wider range of sizes and the additional length options for something similar or even the same x

I hardly ever wear dresses or skirts without pockets anymore. I've added pockets to clothes (which is quite easy to do), but to me it's a sign of quality if brands offer dresses and skirts with pockets.
There are definitely some dresses and skirts which work better without pockets but I do love a Summer dress with pockets 🙌🏼

You are lucky that your thrift store has such great prices. Be all of my local thrift stores price everything as if you are shopping at Neiman Marcus. Even if the *preluxz* are not real name brand. That's one reason why I don't go thrifting anymore. Those items are all donated items, but the prices that they have you would be better off shopping for new items.
Hi Emma! Thanks for the video, lovely looks as always! I am quite surprised because I have noticed a bit of a transformation in your style. I mean that, in recent videos, I’ve seen you pick pieces that I wouldn’t think you’d wear. Not critizising, just surprised. But hey, styles evolve and you do you! (You have a great sense of style anyway).
I was also surprised to hear comments like “12£, that’s a bargain!”. Well, comming from Zara, it’s not a bargain, it’s just fast fashion. And we all know FF is not the best option for our planet. Again, not a critic, just saying. I myself have also become less restrictive when buying FF bc I am of the opinion that it’s better to buy one FF item and make it last long than buying a million sustainable-made items and ditching them the next season. If that makes sense.
Anyway, sorry for the rambling. I adore your style and your sense of humor and, as always, I love waking up on a Sunday morning to your lovely videos. ☺️

I think we all choose things which are not the norm for us when going on holiday, it’s a time when you may (depending on the type of holiday) need specific items of clothing. As I’m going on a cruise I have a dress code to adhere to but I always think carefully about what I buy and keep because things have to be re-wearable.
My stance on fast fashion has never changed, I’ve always been a high street shopper but I’ve always mixed in higher end pieces. M&S in particular has been a brand I’ve loved and regularly purchased from or mentioned over the last 7 years at least. I do not believe that quality costs more in every case. High quality and long lasting pieces can definitely be bought on the high street (fast fashion), but it’s about how we care for our pieces. My ethos remains the same as it always has been, to think about what I buy and keep and consider how it will fit into my wardrobe longterm so I get the most out of it, so I think we are on the same page with our opinions ❤️
Love Me+Em.💚 A little pricey, but great quality and designs with just enough of a twist. The white dress is my favorite. Have a fabulous cruise! 🌊🚢🌞
I think Me & Em is lovely, but there way more expensive than Reiss and they don't do a petite size x😊
Reiss is a bit too formal for me and sometimes I’ve found their fabrics to be on the cheap side. I think ME+EM is more my style as they have a more casual vibe but that’s just my personal preference ❤️
Emma, if you've not yet seen them, Me+Em do excellent t-shirts - I have a cropped with dropped shoulder style which is a beautiful weight and soft fabric.
I love the me and em boucle navy dress….but think the fabric is too heavy for a hot climate….wish they made it with 😊a lighter knit
I’m not sure the shape and structure would have worked in a lighter/thinner fabric but I completely agree, it would be too thick to wear in anything above 25 degrees Celsius 🥵

Happy Sunday Emma! Beautiful cruise selection! I loved the navy and white boucle dress - very classy - and the Zara embroidered jeans were fab and looked so much more expensive than the actual price! I must admit I'm not a great fan of bucket hats - they don't suit me and I much prefer something with a wider brim. I preferred the second hat you tried to the first - it definitely had Bisto Kid vibes! (Sorry - not everyone on here will know who they are!!😂😂😂). Emma, you have an amazing figure and look beautiful in your vacation attire. When vacationing I switch into " yacht mode" 🤭🤭. I remember my formal dinner night as well as the dress I wore and even though I would totally wear a ball gown, I think it would be equally fun to wear a tuxedo. You would look killer in one. I hope your cruise is super fun and relaxing and hats do suit you. Sustainability is a good cause and noble, but if everyone stopped traveling, and consuming the economy would cease to exist.... unicorn farts lol. You are the best 😂😂😂

Reminder: a good tailor can pop pockets into almost any dress for very little cost.
Don’t forget to put your sunscreen on your neck and upper chest, these areas get as much sun as the face, but age even faster. I’m 64 and unlike most American women my age, I don’t have that wrinkled, spotted leathery upper body skin that comes from repeated sun exposure. I used high-SPF sunscreen daily on these areas since it came out when I was about 20. There was none before that except zinc oxide cream, a thick, opaque white paste. I used to mix that with foundation, but it still looked pretty bad! But, it did give some protection, and during my university training as a geologist, I really needed it! My friends are now deeply regretting all the tanning they did. I hate sunscreen as much as anyone, but I use oil-free SPF 70 and it’s not so horrible, much better than the first generations of sunscreen were. It is solar radiation we’re exposed to, after all.
I now lather my entire body in SPF but sadly once damage is done it’s done. Teenage life spent on the beach in a bikini with zero SPF has come back to bite me so I’m always covered now.

Yes I’ve found that on previous cruises I’ve been on but also on any hot-weather-holiday in general I always take knitwear because there are always air con environments which I get very cold in 🥶

Beautiful items Emma! Could you maybe speak about shrinkage with different fabrics and give advice on how you factor it in? I feel like I need to go up 1-2 sizes with linen and cotton despite washing everything below 30°, which makes finding the perfekt fit super difficult and a bit of a gamble. Enjoy your cruise! 💕
Oh absolutely! In linen shirts I tend to size up by 1 or 2 sizes because they always shrink after being washed 🙃

The viscose and linen pants look so cool and comfortable, I think you’ll be very happy to have them in the heat. Those hat clips … genius! Emma you have a face shape that does suit every hat. Also your height and body shape suits every clothing! You are basically a top model, I guess is what I am saying… that said if you feel you want to venture out into doing videos with other body types I can do pro bono “work” if you need a short, chunky, chesty type! 😜🫶🏻

Viscose is like silk in terms of softness so any viscose items have that slinky silky movement to them x
Does the blue Stradivarius dress come up quite tight ? The only size left is xs. I recently lost some weight so I think I’m now about a 10 ! Would it fit you think ? X
For me I think it would be a little too tight but it would depend on how comfortable you are with items fitting a little tighter. I like to have a little room 👍

Lovely dresses Emma. I have the magnetic hat clip, very handy when you don't want to squash your hat in a bag, worked well on my hols last year. I'm surprised to hear you say you have a lot of sun damage as you have the most amazing clear skin, maybe the camera doesn’t show it. I regret mine so much my skin looks awful now, I have loads of white patches too where I've lost pigment due to all the damage 😔. Hope u have an amazing cruise xx
Mine isn’t totally visible at the moment. I have clear skin and always have thanks to genetics but I have some sun spots and the skin on my chest creases easily which shouldn’t happen at my age. It’s one of those things I regret but when you’re young you often don’t care 🙈

Yeh shopping online with a new brand is always a bit tricky until you know your size with that brand. I’ve had ME+EM pieces for a good few years so I’ve got to know their sizing now and feel confident when ordering.
As soon as I saw the video I rushed on M&S Spain but they have sold out in the navy long ones I wanted. I was really annoyed. Hopefully they will come back in stock. 😅

The problem with that hat is that the crown is too tall.
I feel like it’s supposed to be like that but it just doesn’t vibe with my head shape, it probably would with others though 😊
Lindsay Albanese is a TH-camr that states she invented and patented those hat clipper things but I suppose that the Chinese already copied them and are selling them on Amazon! Useful product!
Oh really?! I wonder when she came up with them because I’m sure I saw hat clips when I’d go on holiday from a young age so we’re talking the early 90’s, although they may not have had magnets inside so maybe that’s the element she came up with 🤷♀️

Well scientifically keeping skin covered is actually a more effective way of keeping you cool in Summer heat. Exposing more skin only increases the body’s temperature. But this was just a try on, not specific to a cruise as mentioned at the start of the video so would be suitable for different kinds of holidays including those with air conditioned environments 😘
