Thank you for the praise and positive feedback for our technical support Eric. I am one of those gentleman on the other end of the line taking said tech calls and we sincerely appreciate the support from great people such as yourself. We try to provide that same customer service to everyone who calls in requesting help. Its truly a rewarding job to be able to help so many people on a daily basis..... and yes we are all gearheads in the tech office, with a multitude of personal interests amongst the few 🏁

Way back in the 1980's I had a second-hand water injection kit for my Buick V6/Opel GT project. I couldn't get it to work and Edelbrock Tech Support diag the brain and it had gone bad. They sent me a new one at no extra cost, just shipping. I've been a fan ever since! Great customer service can make a life-long "partner" (I send money, they send me stuff!) It's a nice feeling you're not alone in the wilderness.

Hey Eric, just wanted to say it's great to have you appearing regularly on TH-cam again. Not to sound weird but I've been subscribed for so long now (gotta be at least 10 years, you were one of the first YT channels I subscribed to) that watching the ETCG1 videos is a really comforting thing, takes me back to a much simpler time in my life.
The videos from the first shop came at a time when I was just getting into wrenching on my MK2 Scirocco, I was 21 years old and I learned SO much from you, and I still do (some of your videos are still must-have reference material for me).
You also gave me the balls to go for it as far as doing this for a living, I'm into my second year specialising in classic car fuel systems, including KJetronic fuel injection and never thought I'd be carrying out various repairs and services on classics I've lusted after for years.
    Thank you, sincerely.
Keep up the great work, friend. Stay Dirty!
Oh yeah, Edelbrock kick ass by the way! haha

Glad you had good times with them… I didn’t have much luck with them… I was on a waiting list with my local engine builder to get two engines done. One was finished. I put a brand new intake on. Tried several intake gaskets just to find it keep leaking. So I spent just as much in diff gaskets as intake costed. I contacted them they asked several questions and asked for pics. Just to tell me my purchase was past time frame which was over a year… keep in mind I installed and never ran it cause it leaked coolant. They told me basically bosses had to make decision. But this has been almost 3 months now… I put this intake again on a complete diff engine and still leaks. Sad story… I had to spend even more money after buying a new one spending just as much on diff intake gaskets trying on another engine with gaskets. To having to buy another new intake and gaskets to now not having the leak and being stuck with first new intake and several used up gaskets which got tossed in trash.. hey I understand I am lil guy they are big guys. Life happens.😂

One of the best experiences I've was with Autometer. I bought a used Monster Tach with the shift light. Well, the tach didn't work and the light didn't come on, so I called to see if there was anything they could do. They told me to box it up and send it to them. It would be $75. to go thru it. About two weeks later, I get a package in the mail. They completely went thru it, fixed it, and even gave me a warranty on a part that I bought used!!! They even sent me a couple stickers, gotta love the stickers. I'd always bought Autometer before, but after that experience, as long as I live, any aftermarket gauges will come from Autometer

I have never been impressed by Edelbrock, but not for any concrete reason, just my feeling about the company. When building my performance engine for my 1969 Corvette, I wanted a GM LT1 intake. The Edelbrock Performer seemed to be a competitor intake, so
I favored the GM piece over the Performer.
You’ve changed my mind! Edelbrock went way above and beyond what we consider good company service here. We’re not talking mass market here, but a relatively small market, yet Edelbrock did the right thing for you, for all of us. Well done Eric, and Edelbrock!

In the Carb-realm, all of the old-timers I work classic cars with LONG ago switched from Holley to Edelbrock. There were some hold-outs (My Dad included) but eventually it was undeniable that their Carbeurators dot not require a lot of pissing around to find a good tune out of box. Most of these dudes now, take it out of the box, put it on the intake, attach vacuum gauge and set the mixture. The oldest of the clan states emphatically, that any Edlebrock carb that did NOT work out of the box, he immediately sent back and got a new one which would work immediately.

I want to take the opportunity to talk about a very great experience i had last winter. My Volvo S70 caused me a lot of troubles and the only hint i had was the Electronic Throttle Body System problem light. Module Master, a little shop in Idaho helped me a ton! I bought a TB rebuilt kit on EBay from them. It solved no problem at first. For months i exchanged emails with them, did the tests they told me to do, and we finally figured out the grounds on the engine were faulty. They actually verified everything and ensured the programing/sensing was on point and charged me nothing for those steps even though they should had. Especially for all the time they spent helping me by email! I owe them the life of my car, literally, and i can't recommend them enough!

Eric, I just bought a spotless 95 GMC Sierra SLE C1500 regular cab/8' bed from a local used car lot today. I'm not planning to modify it except maybe an aftermarket exhaust when the stocker rots away. It has a 350/700R4 and heavy trailering package (all the good stuff). It's under 60k miles and will be a driver/hauler, as it was meant to be. I won't abuse it but, I'll definitely use it! I'm in Northwest Ohio (I believe you're from around Cincinnati?) and I've had this lot looking for a truck like it for nearly a year. I paid $7500 for it which, to some people might seem high but, around here, NOBODY except for me apparently, wants a regular cab WITH an 8' bed! The only thing I wish it had but doesn't is a manual transmission lol! The truck has already been dropped off at a local shop to be fluid filmed and, since I won't be home again until Friday afternoon, I'll get it back then and put it to work first thing Saturday morning.

No personal experience, but I too have heard nothing but good things about their products and team. Podcast I listen too, one of the hosts even spent numerous calls with them BEFORE he ever spent a dime to go through his build plans and make sure he was getting the correct parts for what he was trying to accomplish. That's service.

Back in the '90s I was buying a new set of points and condenser for a Ford 302 every year from Canadian Tire for about $5. They only lasted a year before the condenser died - every time. I went to a regular parts store and the guy recommended Blue Streak because "that's what the guys at the track use". It cost $30 which seemed absurd at the time. Its 2023 and they still work. Witchcraft!

Sounds like someone had too much caffeine before making a yt episode! Talk about fast-talkin stutter McGee!!!🤣😂🤣
In all seriousness, it really does sound like Edelbrock didn't do what seemingly EVERY other company around the world did, and fall into a cost-saving revamp of the front lines to their business. Instead, they have stuck to their guns by staying true to their customers needs and helping them when a problem arises, which really is so rare, if not damn near unheard of anymore these days.
Great for them. Great for Edelbrock for staying next to their core beliefs instead of chasing the money! Great for them to actually LISTEN to the customer, and to step up and offer a real-life helping hand! Great for them to being human and showing their honest n true colors!!!!
    Bravo, Edelbrock. Bravo!!! ❤️

I have had pro flo 4 for a few years and it does great , i have had the o2 sensor go out 2 times and the map sensor need to be cleaned before it would start once but it runs great. Not to mention when the weather goes negative in temps it starts.
I wanted to put a power premier welder set up on it and nope it can fry the computer, so can solar.
It is on an 1982 blazer.

Edelbrock is family-runned for decades. 8'm 70 & remember they were always the manifold king. They build quality products & DO stand by them. I think the daughter runs it now. Glad u finally got good results from a company! 👍

I have a vortec 5.7 in my 1996 Express. I was unable to get a decent idle until I replaced the OEM plastic distributor with an aluminum one. Grounding issue, I believe. Runs silky smooth right now.

Well, you asked for a few stand up companies, here you go.
I actually just had Snap-on warranty two sockets for me.
I filled out the online info and answered all the questions and they replaced my two bad ones.
I was shocked because I’ve seen videos and read stories that they wouldn’t help people that bought tools many years ago.
MAC tools warrantied two things that I had to mail in to them this last 6 years too.
I’ve bought a few TEKTON tools now because it sounds like their warranty works well.
Napa auto has warrantied parts over the years with a receipt (either replace or refund) but with these failures I’m loosing trust in Napa’s quality 😢.
Of note is that I’ve had the same trucks for many many years, but they offer lifetime warranty!
And JELD-WEN windows, they offered lifetime warranty on my house windows we put in almost 20 years ago, and they have sent out techs to replace several failed glass panels. They knew there was a manufacturer mistake for a time when ours were made fyi.

Always have good experiences with Edelbrock. Their carbs give a good mix of drivability and performance. Easy to fix too. Nothing against Holley, but they can be finicky on the street.

Out of uniform? HR will have to write you up.
I have some concerns with some of the questionsable things Edelbrock has done as a company.
However, I found their technical support, fantastic. A customer bought a used 650CFM carb and demanded we throw it on a stock 318ci V8. Obviously it was not suitable for the application, so we had some chats about what to use as the primary and secondary. Ultimately we ended up having to go even below their recommendations. And take the smalles jet and use it for the primary, then we used their charts to pick a jet for what would have been a carb... 2 sizes down. Obviously the longevity and suitability is still in question, but it at least ran smoothly.

*750CFM, It was wayyy too large. The original primary was like, .110 or .113.

Yeah they told me the absolute best carb to use with the new SP2P manifold I put on my 72 chevy pick-up was the Holly 4360 model , that truck never went over a 100 till I did that , it went a 105 and took about 2/3 as much time to get there and helped achieve 19 MPG , it had a 350 , automatic, 4.56 rear diff. Best I ever got before the 4360 was 15 and before that was 10, so their manifold got me 5, and Holly's carb got me 4 , And a automotive engineer told you wanna make HP headers and free low exhaust fuel economy cast iron manifolds and free flow exhaust conserve as much heat as you can with out damaging the engine, I forget most of what he said but that's the gist of it, I was getting 4 mpg when I went back to cast iron and free flowing single exhaust I picked up 6 , so those 3 things plus a 78 model distributor really gave me what I wanted , I should have welded the diff , sometimes it felt like it wanted to wheel stand, Edelbrock and Holly got me 11 mpg, best companies in the world.

It’s great to hear about a company stepping up and doing right.
But what I really want to know is, what’s that transmission doing out of the truck? Hoping there’s not a monster transmission video coming soon, but I’ve got a feeling

I picked up the new transmission and torque converter directly from Jegs. They are about an hour and a half away from me. Saved over $200 in shipping.

I had a similar experience with edlebrock. I had one of their distributors go bad cause I didn’t read the instructions and hooked it up to the stock ballast resistor for power. Even tho it ran for quite a few years like that it eventually pooped out. I called them and they had me send it in and they rebuilt it at little cost. I have always been very happy with their service and products.
