In terms of there being two types of combat style, it’s going to ruin community interaction. What I mean is that out of the two types of combat styles being implemented, one is going to be “better” than the other. It will cause a rift between people and almost like a “hierarchy” of play style. People who like action combat are gonna flame people who like tab target and vice versa. I’ll even go as far as saying that people won’t get invited to raids or groups because of that fact. Idk it’s a theory of mine but I think it may happen

I would rather them take longer and get it right then release a flop out of the gate. Too many companies release Alpha release games due to investor pressures to make money. I am actually happy they are being methodical and updating as they go. Knowing they are still in early Alpha.. I am still huffing the Copium.
At this pace we will have GTA6 before ashes will be able to even compete against other mmos.....throne would be a great mmo to compare it to and ashes has literaly nothing on that game

Bdo has the best combat in the genre. I’ve played it on and off since beta. However, that’s all it has. PvP modes and even function is garbage. Life skills need a complete overhaul. And the endgame systems are non existent. It’s a combat grind simulation with a terrible enhancement system. I’d gladly trade a step back in combat for a game that has functional pvp and endgame systems with a true sandbox.

Comparing BDO's warrior with AOC's is not fair, I don't think any MMO on the market can do anything like it.
The changing environment based on the community algorithm development 🙌 is the nuggets. Everyone is tagging 💀 and comparing their base subscribers. It's like an ambiguous hope with a kind developers nostalgic ideas for a community that he can't get back with an ominous subliminal intent of knowing an mmorpg can be done better if you love your work ❤

I don't understand people's continued fascination with ashe's of creation, there's no release date in sight, and the game already looks & feels outdated. I was not impressed with mage's slow spell casting animations, warrior reveal isn't that much better either.
They need a new animation team. Those golem's looks weightless and those sword swings looks really bad.
When I saw this the first time, I thought that it looked like a downgraded version of Awakened Warrior. On the other hand, there are a number of comments saying that the skills are too flashy and not grounded. Holy crap! You just can't please people.

The combat isn't gonna feel as action based because the controls of bdo are a lot more like a fighting game then even other action games.
But i will say this right now bdo has some of the worst conbat in mmos history because the enemies are so retarded it ruins th depth they created with the classes, the lack of pve content and well designed enemies ruins th combat in bdo because you are almost never challenged except maybe pvp but that's a dsync unbalanced mess so yea bdo is a waste of potential at the end of the day idec about ashes and it'll probably be a more complete combat system because they actually develop enemies

This game will not even compete with BDO, BDO is slowly turning in single player, small team Pve mmorpg, for more that i love Bdo combat i admit don't work when you have many players fighting is ideal for 1vs1 , AOC is taking other direction, more focused in pvp and massive pvp so i think their combat will work much better...

I think I touched every mmo on the market. My top picks is BDO & GW2. WoW I find myself standing around in queue for something on wow more than playing the game, ffxiv is a virtual leftist get together, I deleted lost ark day 1 bc I hate top down gameplay, eso combat gets boring fast it’s basically just using a small handful of skills besides weaving in main hand attacks with dodge rolling.

they're completely redoing the combat because the supporters said "this combat is shit. redo it" and now they're kind of scrambling to reinvent it. seems like we're headed to some more doodoo combat because they're just throwing spaghetti at the wall at this point
Critiquing the combat of an in development game by comparing it to BDOs overly flashy combat and not even looking at the new fighter combat video in the comparison isnt doing the project justice. Also, many of the clips narc is referencing for information are old and are being criticized as if they were in the latest update. Watch the new fighter video. The combat is continuing to improve nicely.
I personally found BDOs combat too flashy and the races and genders being locked to class along with many gameplay elements really dampened the game for me. Undeniably the BDO combat is good but simpler more defined animations I believe are better.
If BDO has that kind of combat then it would not have survived this long. Its combat was what made it one of the longest running mmorpg.
@@jagrandom641 And yet not as long as world of warcraft which obviously has very different and not as dramatic combat. My point is that combat preferences are different. Obviously BDO's combat looks more cinematic than that of an.... ahem.... in development game(if there was a way for me to highlight, underline, and put this in flashing neon lights I would). But I personally believe that for large group fights this type of combat will be far easier to read than black deserts where any amount of skills going off in the same place result in distortion of the colors and makes it very difficult to determine what is going on. As I've already said, its combat is very good. When ashes of creations combat is finished, then we can actually compare. These combat updates are simply showing the direction it is taking and they have said that these are not their final forms.
@@stefanteal1075 I am not commenting on your comparison between Ashes and BDO nor am I comparing combat gameplay between BDO and other mmorpgs such as WOW.
My point is, BDO has many things unwanted for an MMO but it is very alive because of its Combat. For many people its combat is the breath and life of the game without it, or toning it down as you suggest, would make this game die.
Of course BDO is not as long as WOW in terms of longevity but that is not the point. WOW is obviously not combat/gameplay dependent and you cannot say that it has lived for so long because of its combat. Its combat is meh to say the least. tab targeting is child's play. The only thing people plays it is its mmo aspect. Not its rather bland gameplay of clicking skills in succession. BDO attracts fighting games enthusiasts who likes the MMO aspect of games. Remove or tone down its combat mechanics then it won't be BDO anymore.
@@jagrandom641 ah, I see where the misunderstanding is happening. I honestly don't suggest they tone down their combat in BDO. But I also don't want BDO combat in ashes. It fits well in its own world while I believe the latest direction that ashes is taking their combat fits well in theirs. Either way, all this is a matter of preference. Blue Gamer obviously comes from a perspective of holding BDO above other mmos and seems to enjoy its combat. I'm just waiting to see what the final form of ashes combat looks like before I believe a comparison can be reasonably made.

BDO has set the bar for topics like graphics and combat design for sure, but I feel even ESO had a more impactful combat than this showcase and it came out in 2014.

Once you have played a true and engaging/combat rewarding action combat MMO, you just can't play those lame MMO'S with old and clunky combat system. It's boring and you just uninstall after 15 minutes.
Ashes of Creations in a nutshell :
- Spyro the Dragon remastered graphic, but about 25% worse.
- Dog sh*t combat
- Slow
- Already outdated copy/pasted WoW combat UI
- Early 2000 tab target style
PvP and PvE (Very late game) is about smashing spacebar to jump nonstop and pressing 1-2-3-4. And while 1-2-3-4 is on cooldown, smash your keybind bouton on your mouse for 5-6-7-8, then repeat.
