as Salam alaykoum wa rahmatoulah my brother thank you for sharing I am French so I understood the essentials but not everything so how many times do you recommend a page minimum for good memorizatio
Asalam Alikum brother, I would like to know what is best for a muslim to undergo on the journey of knowledge. To first memorise the Quran or learning the Arabic language?
I really hope this works. Im 17 and I’ve been struggling with hifz since covid. Got all the wrong teachers, wrong methods, now we’re going through hardship in our family so my parents are busy and I got distracted. I *really* want to become a hafiz e Quran so bad. I’m only done with 12 paras and a few other surahs yet. Please pray for me and my siblings. Edit: may Allah reward every one of you for your words of comfort. Thank you so much for that *and* to everyone referring to me as bro or brother, I’m a female 😅
@@Lipurshan no I literally got a wrong teacher. He considered me a kafir because his beliefs were different and taught my siblings a Dua that is said to kafirs. Incidentally when I was going through Hisnul Muslim in Mecca, I saw that same one and my parents told him to leave
Keep going. The reward is in the hardship. The harder, the greater reward ! Do not give up. You're young, you're in your best years to memorize, don't waste it. It's incredible that instead of wasting time like your fellows, you work for you akhira. But also, make sure to self-reflect: if it's getting hard, maybe Allah is testing me because I miss something. Maybe you need to spend more time understanding what you've learned. Memorization itself is useful if you don't understand and reflect, if your intention isn't pure. The sahabah (ra) didn't learn 10 ayat without having understood and implemented the 10 previous ayat. Quantity isn't the best. Quality is. So make sure not to neglect this part. I wish you the best and to finish the Quran with understanding and implementation.
Couple of Ramadan's back, I wanted to memorise Surah Al-Mulk. Surah Al-Mulk had 30 verses. That Ramadan had 30 nights. Each night, I completed by Isha prayers before midnight, and I'd spent from Midnight till Fajr reciting. The first day I recited only Verse 1 from Surah Al-Mulk. Day 2, I recited Verse 1 & 2.. Day 3, Verse 1, 2 & 3... And this carried on for each day starting from the first verse.. Each time I recited the previous day verses, I recited from memory, and only referred when I needed to for the current day verse.. Halfway through each night I did not need to refer to the current day verse and started reciting the verses by memory from aprox. 3am till Fajr. By the 30th day, I could stand in prayer and recited the whole of Surah Al-Mulk from memory fluently. So yes, memorization of the Quran is all about repetition. And what helps is if you understand the meaning of those verses..
If it helps, remember that for every alphabet you recite you will be rewarded. So just imagine the rewards of repeating the same verses each day from after Isha till Fajr. By the end of it you'd be reciting Surah Al-Mulk from after Isha till Fajr as a whole over and over again.
As a Mauritanian myself I agree with you. This is the way we memorize anything. The Turkish way of memorizing the Quran is as follows: Start from the last page of each chapter. First, the page to be memorized is read forty times. Then, starting with the last verse of each page, the verse is recited forty times. Then move on to the previous verse. It is also recited forty times. Then the two verses are repeated together. In this way the whole page is memorized from bottom to top. Once a page is memorized, move on to the last page of the next chapter. When you reach the thirtieth chapter, go back to the beginning and memorize the penultimate page of the first chapter with the same method and repeat it with the last page that was memorized before. In this method, the last memorized page is recited first and the last memorized verse of that page is recited first. For this reason, the permanence of memorization increases.
Assalamualaikum❤Great information.I hope this works.I m 18 years old and I started to study hifz this week.I m staying in a hostel for this far from my home.Everyone saying it will be very hard to study hifz at this age.But afterall Allah is the best planner. So everyone Dua for me to Allah to make it easy for me.
SubhanAllah brother, I can't thank you enough. A simple video, but it will probably change my life. I just had a dream, someone saying exactly something like the gist of this video, and now this, as I wake up 😭 I feel like you were talking about me. Alhamdulillah I memorized everything. But if you ask me randomly, I will probably get stuck or mix up after only a few verses. I really should work on this! Indeed, the Qur'an is a free camel in the desert. You tie it down, unless otherwise you want to lose it. And it's only a matter of time before it's out of your heart. And of course the effects of shameful sins we commit do have a major role as well. May Allah protect us all.
جزاك الله خيرا May Allah make it easier for all of us to memorise and implement the Quran within our lives and continue to seek knowledge and make it form within our hearts. Ameen
This was very helpful. I like your pace and clarity. Its the sobering reality that I am coming to understand along my hifdh journey - that it's all about volume and nothing is given easily. Barakallahu Fik
As a memorizer of the Quran who memorized 10 ajzaa so far in 5 years, I think not enough attention is given to understanding the Quran by many huffaz from non Arabic background. I urge everyone to focus on understanding of the Quran more than memorizing. Understanding the Quran is 100 times more important than just memorizing pages without knowing the meaning of the ayahs. If you can do both, more power to you, but if you just want to focus on one thing, then it’s understanding the Quran. I’m a non Arab myself, I found learning Arabic and understanding the Quran as a great way to enforcing the memorization of the Quran.
Yes exactly... I have been doing word to word of arabic into my own language along with tafsir, and now i have decided to do hifz ... it will help a lot InShaaAllah... And i dont understand people memorizing and not knowing the meaning (as is done in my county india 🇮🇳)...we have so many kids in madrasahs who are doing hifz but they are not taught the meanings or made to understand arabic language....
Thank you for your pure thoughts. Kindly make a video demonstrating the memorization and if you already have please kindly refer me to it. Ramadan Mubarak
Jazaakallah u Khairann. I'm a hafiza from Pakistan. I'm leading trahvi this year and finding it difficult to recite without any mistake...well because I only recite thrice 🫠
Imam Shafi (Rahimahullaah), said to his teacher Imam Waki ibn Jarah. I have poor memory, so Imam Waki said. Stop sinning. So his momery improved. Problem for us we don't know what is sins. So we have to read the book of Kabair (70 Major Sins) of Imam Dhabi, And need to do thoubah for major sins and Istighfār for other sins. When we do sins the black spots and cover the heart كلا بل ران على قلوبهم ما كانوا يكسبون So memorising and Fiqh of the deen not possible. العلم is Noor it won't go to fasiq. Sinner. Especially music. If music and many images of women in your heart. Noble Quran and hadeeth won't be there
You just explained everything someone needs 😢 Reading it a thousand times is of no use to a sinner We should first minimize our sins and see how powerful the retentive memory becomes. Jazaakumu Llahu Khayran

Assalaam mohalaikoum warahmatullahi wa barakatu, the most important of all to complete the quran insha Allah is to fallow the quran and sunnah. Stay a way from music, movies, media and entertainment. Lower your gaze, be dutifully to your parents and increase your good deeds. Never leave of the morning and evening adhkar and make a lot of dua. May Allah bless us all in becoming hifz alquran
Some things are inherently memorable to humans, while others may be forgotten despite repeated attempts to remember them. It's often observed that people tend to remember things that they find interesting or personally meaningful. Therefore, cultivating an interest in the Quran can help enhance your understanding and retention. Exploring translations can also aid in deepening your interest and comprehension.
I will share my experience here. I did few juz 33 times but I was still getting stuck sometimes and it was disheartening 😢. Watching this video in Ramadan kareem, I came up with the idea of reading a Quarter of a juz 11 times a day for one full week. That will make it 77 times. I think in Turkey it's advised to memorise a section over few days rather than doing one rukoo in a day and starting next one the next day. I tried this method and the results are very very good. So much fluency and assurance. Alhum du Lillah
One recommendation from my side is that repeat the Ayaat that you memorized, read them during your prayer. For example if you memorized 1 page, repeat it in all 5 prayers on thwt day. It will help you a lot 😊 .
May Allah grant peace, protection, and justice to our brothers and sisters in Palestine. May He ease their suffering, strengthen their hearts, and bring an end to their oppression. Ameen.
It's should be pointed out that NOT everybody is the same in the ability to think and memorize. A very few are geniuses and polymaths, a few are good, most are less endowed. So, it will require more effort on the part of the last category.
The technique I use is to commit the visuals of the page into memory such that I'm able to read it from top to bottom and bottom to the top (as in, read the verses in reverse order). This ensures that I memorize not only the verses but the position of each verse along with the awareness of the preceding and succeeding verses as well. The process takes longer but is very effective. Note: you need to only keep track of the first few words of each verse when going in reverse because after recalling the first few words, the rest of the verse will already be in your memory
I have memorized 17 juz of holy Qur'an but i barely used to do the revision, I only did sabaq and sabqi. I thought that once you memorize quran you will never forget it but I never read them while fearing I might get stuck. My teacher used to ask me are you reading the previous juz and I used to tell yes ( I used to read while looking into mushaf not from memory 😅 ) . Because of my school I was giving only 1.5 hours so there was no time left for revision. Then after completing 10 juz I got to know that you have to review the past memorization. And it was very hard . Now I stopped after 17 and started from beginning but I am losing my motivation and getting streesed cuz I am in higher class now I want to complete as soon as possible. I hope this video will help me Inshallah
Alhamdullilah Ive been using this method for a few years now and it works. Ive been repeating for 150 reps total per page, here is the method below sharing for everyone's benefit: -Before you begin, imagine the page in front of you as if it is in two halves (try to look for a verse in the middle as half way point). Start at the top of the page: -Recite verse x 50 -Recite next verse x 50 -Continue above steps until first half of page completed -Recite first half of page x 50 -Repeat above steps for verses on second half of page -Recite full page x 50 -GOAL: if above steps are followed correctly you will have read the page 150 times in total. This is the Shanquiti Method.
I personally use spaced repetition (with FSRS) using Anki. After memorising, it allows me to spend little time whilst retaining such information - this level of efficiency is key for me.
To those of you memorising the Quran, read about the Ebinghaus forgetting curve which derives that we start forgetting memorised material immediately after memorising, then at 24 hours, then at 48 hours, then in a week, then in a month, 3 months, 6 months and a year. To those of you memorising the Quran, read about the Ebinghaus forgetting curve which derives that we start forgetting memorised material immediately after memorising, then at 24 hours, then at 48 hours, then in a week, then in a month, 3 months, 6 months and a year. So if we revise and review the Quran at these intervals, insha Allah we will not forget it
The Turkish way of memorizing the Quran is as follows:
Start from the last page of each chapter.
May Allah make it easy
How's it going?
It is a very good age. Those that told you are not aware of how long life is. 18 is still very young

JazakumAllahu Khayran Ustadh
SubhanAllah brother, I can't thank you enough. A simple video, but it will probably change my life. I just had a dream, someone saying exactly something like the gist of this video, and now this, as I wake up 😭
I feel like you were talking about me.
Ameen
I enjoy the unique content you put forth brother جزاك الله خير وبارك الله فيك
Ahlan wa sahlan. Waiyyak.
This is best technique.Repitition always aids memorization. This helped me much....JazakAllah
Ma shah allah is this the best video on TH-cam in current time. Good. Ma shah allah
We should maintain a balance between the two...
Memorization of the quran is unmatched by any deed in the hereafter.
Couldn't agree more. Reflecting upon the ayah is the true benefit
Ha yaha pe India me 3day me Quran pura ho jata h bhot fast mai Saudi me hu yaha bhit aram se pdhate h❤

Beautiful video brother, may Allah reward you greatly!
Ma sha Allah, very inspiring!
Jazaakallah u Khairann. I'm a hafiza from Pakistan. I'm leading trahvi this year and finding it difficult to recite without any mistake...well because I only recite thrice 🫠
May Allah help you strive successfully brother. You'll get there if you are persistent in your Jihad.
When we do sins the black spots and cover the heart
كلا بل ران على قلوبهم ما كانوا يكسبون
So memorising and Fiqh of the deen not possible. العلم is Noor it won't go to fasiq. Sinner. Especially music. If music and many images of women in your heart. Noble Quran and hadeeth won't be there
You just explained everything someone needs 😢
Reading it a thousand times is of no use to a sinner
We should first minimize our sins and see how powerful the retentive memory becomes.

Jazakallahu khayran brother.
One recommendation from my side is that repeat the Ayaat that you memorized, read them during your prayer. For example if you memorized 1 page, repeat it in all 5 prayers on thwt day. It will help you a lot 😊
.
JazakAllah Khair

May Allah grant peace, protection, and justice to our brothers and sisters in Palestine. May He ease their suffering, strengthen their hearts, and bring an end to their oppression. Ameen.
It's should be pointed out that NOT everybody is the same in the ability to think and memorize. A very few are geniuses and polymaths, a few are good, most are less endowed. So, it will require more effort on the part of the last category.

Assalamualaikum This is exactly what we need may Allah reward you and help us to benefit from it Assalamualaikum
Walaykum Salam warahmatullah. waiyyak.
Jazakallah Khair..
JazakAllahu khairan for the information
بارك الله فيك ❤

Alhamdullilah Ive been using this method for a few years now and it works. Ive been repeating for 150 reps total per page, here is the method below sharing for everyone's benefit:
-Before you begin, imagine the page in front of you as if it is in two halves (try to look for a verse in the middle as half way point).
Start at the top of the page:
-Recite verse x 50
-Recite next verse x 50
-Continue above steps until first half of page completed
-Recite first half of page x 50
-Repeat above steps for verses on second half of page
-Recite full page x 50
-GOAL: if above steps are followed correctly you will have read the page 150 times in total. This is the Shanquiti Method.
Jajhakallahu khair

I personally use spaced repetition (with FSRS) using Anki.
After memorising, it allows me to spend little time whilst retaining such information - this level of efficiency is key for me.
To those of you memorising the Quran, read about the Ebinghaus forgetting curve which derives that we start forgetting memorised material immediately after memorising, then at 24 hours, then at 48 hours, then in a week, then in a month, 3 months, 6 months and a year. So if we revise and review the Quran at these intervals, insha Allah we will not forget it
