Oh man, I'm so glad you made a tungsten jig and also that I reread your other jig head descriptions. I try to be as lead free as I can so even though I liked your jigs I had been moving away from them due to thinking they were lead. I can live with the small amount they have it them. Love this so much and I think you'll be keeping me broke for a long time as I snag way too much lol.
Thank you very much :) Yeah the Mule Jigs still have a very minor amount of lead but I am constantly working on that. They are primarily an alloy and I hope to get them to 100% lead free in the future. Too important to take care of our waterways so I will keep working on this!
I was finally able to get out this last weekend to try out your Mule jigs for the first time. I have to say, that I'm a customer for life. I caught my PB largemouth (4.6lbs) on my third cast, with a Chartreuse 3/32nd Mule jig, and a Chartreuse 3.2 Mule Minnow. I was using 10lbs braid to a 4lbs floro leader, on my BFS setup (Shimano Sensilite rod, paired with an Aldebaran BFS reel). For the small lakes and ponds around my area in Colorado, that is a good catch, and what a fight it was. I continued to catch some decent size bass for the couple of hours I was out after that as well. Thank you very much for making a great product, and great videos. 😎
I’ve been using my first handful Mule Jigs and Donkey Tail Jr’s for a couple weeks now, it really is a ton of multi species fun with this gear! I spent 2 hours yesterday creek fishing and catching dinky sunfish, I’m so stoked to have found ultralight fishing!
@@FishAnything Yes sir, thank you for the awesome content and gear, my second order came in yesterday and I will be trying everything out as much as I can this week. I’ve already caught my first of multiple species on Donkey Tail Jrs, I now have a pack or 2 of all your plastics to start slinging.
@@FishAnything I did snap my Daiwa Presso this last Monday, that ruined that trip. I bought the rod mostly based on your video and I’ve loved it. Along with the Revros LT1000, thanks again for the great information and experience you share.
One of my favorite thing about this channel is he makes his own stuff to fit his style not just the trend of guys pouring their own ned heads. The other is his clear love for eating dinner
This is exciting! I look forward to picking these up on my next order, even with shipping and conversion considered your products price on par with what I have available to me in Ontario Canada but they're SO much more durable. I've placed 2 orders already and have been super satisfied with everything I've gotten. The 1/80oz mule jig in white and a chartreuse donkey tail jr has become my favourite multi species combo, at this point almost all the fishing I do is ultralight and I've been having an absolute blast with your products!
This sounds like some great news and I thank you for letting us all know that you had created some new jigs too. They do look Epic, for sure they do and there's no question about it. Like always, another great video and great fish catching as well
Just ordered a bunch of mule stuff . Love your channel! Informative and entertaining is a golden combination. You nailed both.. curious if you ever thought about adding some top water micro poppers or floating insects to the Mule lineup
YES! Can't wait to fish these! We have a lot of fish out deep in the dead of summer so these will be killer for that. I also think these would do great in rivers, streams, and creeks where the current is super fast. I normally throw a 1/32 oz jig, but even then sometimes the current is too fast. These should do perfect.
No longer have to use eurotackle’s micro tungsten jigs. Their bait keeper is awful. Been patiently waiting for you to release a small profile, yet heavier tungsten jig. These are going to be great. PS: Just ordered 6 packs of 1/16th oz. Any plans for pink?
I've had my first run in with wind and chop, using UL . The day before was great, every cast crappie if I wanted. Hooked a big one, switched to my spoon rod and got a 3 lb bass . Next day got three dink bass and one crappie
I'm going to have to order some, Australia is lacking UL tackle as the most popular saltwater species can be mostly targeted using a #2 or larger hook.
Cool new product!! I'm trying to better understand the application of Workhorse vs Mule Jig...so I know when to use them after I buy them :) You talk about better handling of wind, deeper water application, etc. But, if I'm throwing a 1/16oz Mule Jig...wouldn't that behave the same as a 1/16oz Workhorse in the wind and deeper water? (1/16oz is 1/16oz, right?) Or does the tungsten fall faster/better?
Good question Chris!! The Mule Jig in the 1/16oz and 3/32oz sizes features a #4 hook which is a bit too large for smaller plastics such as the Donkey Tail Jr, Horse Fly, and Mule Minnow 1.2. This jig features a #6 hook which gives you the ability to rig those baits up and present micro presentations deeper in the column. The head design is intended for vertical fishing and swimming whereas the Mule Jig is a bit more of a shallow water head design (although it works well for numerous presentations). Overall, I will probably use the 1/16oz and 3/32oz Mule Jigs when I am running a larger plastic (think bass fishing Ned Rigs, Donkey Tail, Mule Minnow 3.2) or if I am specifically targeting Crappie. I like the slightly larger hook size and larger head shape when chasing down slabs.
Fantastic news; congratulations on the new jig, Ethan! Also, kudos for reaching 20,000 subscribers. Onward and upward! Hmm, you have to buy product from yourself? Hopefully you give you a healthy discount. :-) . Thanks!
any chance youve been thinking of having like a starter pack with jigs and different color plastics kinda like the trout magnets i would be awesome to see especially as a beginer
@@FishAnything that'd be awesome also I've been having issues catching trout in Colorado lakes I just recently bought a fish finder and it turns out they're about 40 feet deep, would you still recommend ultra light for that type of fishing or not and if so what jig heads size, color and what plastic would you use and what technique? Thanks for the reply appreciate it your hard work in the lab to help us catch more mondos
Like the new jigs 👍.Wow that line has to be way better than the 2 lb test Trilene XL that I bought. That was the only 2 lb test I could find in my area. I broke off on a rockbass fishing in a creek. I haven't bought anymore since then. I've just been using 4 lb Mr. Crappie in camo. What brand 2 lb test mono are you using? 👊
@@PrimeMKTO I'm glad to hear that. I was just thinking about trying that line. I use the panfish magnet kit and it catches alot of fish. Its just hard to get good distance with 4 lb test. 👍
I really like the Trilene Sensation 2lb test. I would definitely suggest re-rigging after a few fish though (no matter what line you use). Light line will only take so much abrasion. The sensation has been really good to me though!
Dang! Honestly shipping internationally is so dang expensive. To be honest, I usually lose money on shipping when folks order from overseas. As John mentioned, if you can pool together with a few friends, that might be a good strategy!
In all honesty, while I like the jigs, the hook keeper is by far the worst part. I have used them for a a while now and the hook keeper is flimsy, prevents baits from going on well, destroys small baits, splits apart, and chips first. I would either change it so that it is a smaller bend and directly attach it/ wrap it to the shank of the hook, this is especially true for the smaller jig sizes where the hook keeper pops out of thin bait and ruins them, even baby shad baits. Or I would change the type of bait keeper from what it is to a very small and thin metal ribbing. In my experience that is the best kind of bait keeper. It would really bring your jigs to the next level!
Thank you so much for the feedback! The Mule Jigs have actually made improvements on the keeper. The original launch had some flimsy keepers that didn't hold in place as well. Now, there is higher quality control and they are much more secure. I will always continue to push for higher quality and greater consistency. I truly appreciate your comments - this is how I will improve. Regarding the Workhorse Jig, I don't think you will find that to be the case at all. The quality control is extremely good and the keepers are very secure/consistent. Thanks again!

Great jig heads and plastics question when you use Berkley 1""minnows how do you rig since they don't stretch like yours
You just push them over the keeper. Just make sure to get them straight the first time because Gulp is really soft and not very durable.
